the sound hello folks Billy and I are still another little adventure and we're very happy you're with us all right so I know you've heard about the birch bark canoe and this is something you probably never heard of it's the spruce bark canoe how cool is that this was made by idly fosweb bull bull and Billy done the same exact one it's just we didn't bring one and he also made the dugout canoe take a look at that how cool is that that's a lot of work and we're gonna bring those two canoes on a lake that's down there somewhere find a place to camp and we'll talk to you guys later okay so this is Billy's dugout canoe and let me tell you there's a lot of work in this it's really amazing eight dates eight days now just real fast how long is this that canoe it's about twelve feet and I use just axis and one tool it's called a curved adds and I just dug this can do just by hand every day well for every day an average of let's say about ten thousand so that was a lot of power in average you know what still was a lot of work and what's the tree it's what is it called poplar poplar okay

thanks Anne yeah it's it's a popular about 16 feet wide and we put hot water in it so I could extend the Beamer so right now it's about it's in 19 inches wide just right here so it's it's not as stable as the spruce bark can you Mike but I can manage you know I won't go and wrap it with it Indiana Jones forget it with this kind of can you well anyways it looks really cool I can tell you that much I'm in the well as you saw at the beginning of the video or somewhere I'm in this spruce bark canoe and look how cool this is look at that I don't have time to show everything but if we take a minute and look at all this I like this scenery of this canoe a lot more than that all the man-made stuff and know what Billy we're both floating on a tree or in a tree that's right just from the nature it's amazing Wow everything is from the nature's a little bit roller okay let's keep on paddling we got a little ways to go

so it's widening up a bit this used to be a pretty well as I was told pretty big lake and the water is going down and it's creating a marsh it's not big deep water but it's got a pretty big surface now over the past you see in front it's even bigger and wider and that's where we're going try and find a decent campsite for tonight so right now we're at the widest part of the lake it's fairly big actually it's bigger than I thought I'm going to paddle around and try and find a place to camp tonight it's a fairly wild area and there's a nice and see if I give them on camera but he looks pretty cool look at those beautiful mountains beside him we're in a glorious place today folks so right now we're really trying to find a place to camp for the night once that's done then we can have fun priority is setting up camp right now and plus you know we are a little bit sore on let me show you and we've got it I've got a tarp here but it wasn't quite enough and these things are going into my legs flip here

and the circulation in my legs could be better so it'll be good to take a little break but this is cool so anyway you found our spot which is going to be somewhere in there just a little bit of water coming in at the end there but other than that a little bit here but that's fine it's an awesome canoe and I have to get out of this because there's blood suckers in here okay so quite an experience with this I like it alright so real quick this is pretty much our entrance tonight is going to be very simple

this is my bed right here just on nice bit of boughs see sleeping under the stars and praying is in the rain and the same for Billy made it himself a nice little bed there nice bench I'm gonna have a small fire to cook stuff and drink some coffee and I think Billy it's time for coffee what do you think really really okay let's have a coffee wondering why I'm set up like this way I have the reflective blanket on top of my bowels remember I had boughs at the beginning well for two reasons if I put this at the bottom on the ground and put the boughs on top during the night it's gonna have a tendency to just slide away and spread and I won't have any more cushion so this way when I put the bow straight on the ground make a bed out of them

they stayed there with this on top so you know the boughs will stay in place and because this is on top it's sticking right to my body reflecting heat and at the same time I have this the cover is going to be just a wool blanket because we're announcing pretty cool tonight around 10 degrees Celsius or 50 degrees fairly well that's the main reason why this is there it's going to be very comfortable and hopefully it won't rain okay Billy cheers my good friend without going the other side here so I don't burn your hand thanks man oh I don't forget my cup beautiful well better than nothing I guess that at least I can taste this wonderful coffee here we're just going for it you improvised yep that's all that matters that's right that's it cheers my friend Cheers

okay so right now we are hunting we are hunting for something for a good tea tonight and I spotted two things I went in the woods a little bit shopped I'll show you what they are a nice patch here of Labrador tea very easy to identify see how it grows and clusters like this it's got a shiny leaf on the top and the bottom is like it has a little bit of hairs a little bit of hairy I'm gonna zoom in this firewood here is simple to define especially when you got beavers around now most of the wood here is softwood but when you find these usually the beaver will eat poplar you know the cambium layer but when there's no poplar they'll use birch of the birch tree so hardwood free

so we decided to change a little bit of our setup because it could rain some clouds and didn't take any chances and we've got camera gear and all that stuff so we got this canvas tarp here real quick and that's gonna be Billy's bed I found some stuff to sit down and keep the fire low we don't need it the big fire tonight and that's going to be my bed just change it around position so we both got one side of the fire forever we get cold let's start it up in the night morning folks a pretty good night slept F decent didn't get too cold so had little o few problems with mosquitoes but wasn't that bad and then around three four o'clock in the morning well you know how it gets that's when it gets the coldest well got chilled a little bit started up a fire and warmed ourselves back up dugout canoe Oh a beautiful morning the Laureus morning so calm it's about five o'clock right now but what time it is yeah it's time for coffee

I thought you guys have coffee already for me when I got up trust anybody anymore okay one less view okay so this is the end of our adventure and we are certainly happy that you are able to join us thanks for watching this is Mike and Billy have a good day and may God bless you
