hey guys so what am i up to today well made it a little bit of cleanup at Camp decided to keep that same campsite but do some modifications this started as a nice beautiful day hot for the time of year actually was 26 Celsius which would be maybe 80 85 give or take and Fahrenheit tomorrow I'll drop back down to 10 but anyway I want to do a little bit of work but first I'll just show you a couple of sites that I had before this is a one of them right here that I had and if I turn around that's another one I had right here now I got to clean that little fire pit right there remember no trace but now let's go to the main camp as you can see the snow is really going down which makes me really happy and the only problem here going to this campus this water here now it's a lot worse this time of year but even in the summer there's a little bit of a water going by here so okay wait a minute right here already started cut myself a little trail clean that up so it's easier to get there it's very close alright let's jump here so you can hear the river snow is going down alright so you remember this place here so I'm going to keep this place today I don't know what I'm going to do this going to be a resting area I want to make a decent fire pit there it won't be today I'll saw what I have in mind is you know clear some more branches a little bit on both these trees because can hang a hammock there and one here right and just below here is the shelter which I will keep but I will modify it in a later date there's some certain things i want to do but the snow is going down pretty good now let's say this is where i'm sitting what I would like to do is to you know clear up some branches there they're just on that side just clear that up a little bit save that tree just so I can have an easier access to the river at the same time have a better review that the same thing here he's a bunch of trees these small ones around it you know they're going to have a hard time growing but this big one is gonna have a fair chance so I'm going to keep that big one just so I can have a view when I sit here of the campsite so I gotta get to work before it starts raining hopefully it won't I saw some you know thunderheads way back there and I hope I they pass on by so I'm pretty much done for today I still have about 45 minutes half an hour that's going to be to sit down but for now let me just show you what I've done so first of all I clean around both the chairs and also i still need i'm not done there still need to clean these ones here below go into the camp clean between the two trees there the trail clean they're a little bit i just left that big tree there this looks cool so now remember the view on this side where that this is what it looks like now know why it's dark me back up man you

anyway this is what it looks like now when they sit down here let's say I'm sitting down well I can see my other shelter and also I found as I was cleaning this up i found a beautiful little birch tree so this guy will be able to survive and I found another birch tree right here another guy is going to be able to survive and I left this other a spruce right there now let me tell you guys I've had this for about four years this saw and I was always happy to have it with me cuz it works well but today I mean it doesn't show cuz you weren't watching but it does the job trailblazer alright so now the scenery from where I'm sitting here remember so I gotta go slowly now we can see a lot better there I still need to cut those branches there because they're still in the snow so I'm going to wait for that so let's take a little going down this way and now we can walk here I you know I leave these on because thats future you know Deadwood if it's not in my face I leave it there this guy to is dead I didn't cut it but he's gonna be there for future firewood so now I can go around the tree the tree with legs and walk around here still need to do some cleanup here then I can go around right to my camp my shelter and the river again is really nearby see these branches here I still need to cut but they're still frozen in the ice there so the view from here that side I think it's going to look pretty decent once i'm done now just before while i'm here there's a few people still have been asking me how to identify a balsam fir now first thing is the bubbles right first thing you want identify okay give me a second sometimes they're hard to see if you're not used to it but there's a bubble of resin and this is resin this one's a little dry me a second anyway here there's one that's just popped okay and this is see there's another bubble here this is resin it's not pitch it's resin balsam is exactly what means resin now if you can't you're still not sure you just take you get in the light here if I'm going to be able to okay take the needle and if you're not sure still if it's between a spruce or a balsam the needle is flat it will not roll in your hands it will slide hey it's not rolling because it's flat now right beside here is a spruce now the screw this is a small spruce I mean second here you see this this one rolls that's one little trick you guys can that if you're not sure so

yeah I think for today this is going to be it

and that rest of the snow is gone it's going to be fine so now it's time to sit down relax and enjoy my sunglass things I forgot to mention that's pretty cool when you're clearing up not only can you see around you a little bit better but keep the critters away at the same time you're doing two jobs yeah firewood cool well it's nice to be able to relax I have a nice view see the river i can see my other shelter put some trails one there I can see and the animal activity or human activity water nothing beats that okay well

Oh

one thing that's neat about these chairs now if you put out the right angle you can lie down it's cool but if you need to sit up right to be able to sit up you know straight just lift it up a little bit and your your bum goes in deeper and now you're sitting straight of course if you push on your leg is going to go down but I I'm really comfortable like that that's another tip also i just want to show you even though i'm just out for a couple of hours I find it always important especially when you're working like this you can always injure yourself any time you don't need to have a knife to hurt yourself you know cutting branches and stuff of course I've got full of cuts right now branches not enough to be you know to put a plaster but I always bring a little first aid kit this is the one I had and in the Army 20-some years ago but you know I added some stuff but i always bring one little you know I find that important the bigger one you saw I bring it especially for others for me but for others too if you happen to bring someone in the bush with you you know it's not everybody that comes in the bush with you that knows what you know so you know it's important that something for them when I come out alone you know just with a bud pack my water there's nothing in this I still going to bring this little first aid kit now I know some of you will be asking what this but pack is look you've been watching my videos for a little while you remember the Canadian patrol pack the camouflage one well that's exactly from this the camouflage one I don't have it anymore akaneiro is that one now but this is the same identical thing okay except the Sun camouflage it's just your OD green this pack of this one but it's part of it it's an 80 litre pack and it's got two pouches like this which I found pretty cool on the top but I put or you can put them on the bottom but you can use both of them you can use as a butt pack and you have two other pouches on the side and it's a perfect size for what I need and also you have a little pouch in the back which is snap and velcro or you can put some other stuff so it in your patrol pack I noticed some of you guys will be asking

alright this video will probably be long again

I just enjoy talking to you guys that's cool automatic shut happen again so anyway

that's going to be it for this video when I keep on working I'm still going to do some cleanup here I'm going to do some modifications on the shelter there's certain things i want to do with it make it more appealing to my taste anyway i'll keep you guys posted but for now i'm putting this down now i can relax thanks for watching guys
