either guys I thought I'd just do a quick video to introduce an item that I bought recently and there's a new catapult or slingshots I always have a habit of calling them and I got this one from America in the United States and it was made for me by uh by somebody who makes slingshots out there I obviously paid him and he made me swing shot and sent it over and those names bill Hayes and Bill Hayes is somebody I've watched on YouTube for some time in or you know his his skill and expertise with slingshots he's he's a master shot in my opinion you know he cuts cards he lights matches repeatedly you know his consistency really is there and he's a he's an amazing shot and I've been using the hfx slingshot for some time just quite a large slingshot is really nice and I like it and I bought it simply because of its versatility and it's you know it's robust build but I wanted something a bit lighter it took up a little bit less space in my path I could make into a small kit a bit like this so this is just a small leather bag that I've stitched up and I keep my shot in the bottom and the slingshot can can sit in the leather bag and just hang off my belt via a Grimlock with my shot in there and a spare BAM sat in this back compartment here and what I can do is simply just pull the slingshot out and use it as I want to and it doesn't really take up a lot of room so this gaze inside the frying pan at the base of my pack just at the top or I can hang it off the side but this is called the Hathcock sniper hopefully I've got that right that I'll put all the information below and I'm really impressed with this slingshot it's fantastic really good sling shot really well made as a steel kind of reinforced frame inside it and bill hand makes these and the ships and pretty much all over the world and I've got double thera-band gold on there tape it from 20 down to about 15 mil the nice thick leather page and I'll put the link as well where I got some of the elastic from because there's a chap online on eBay called Martin herd he sells a lot of slingshot elastic if you don't want to make it yourself it's great to be able to buy it from somebody who you know he trusts and Martin's always supplied me with a rubber for the slingshots and when he hand makes the the pouches and all the band sets and measure them alright they always arrive and they're always in tip-top condition ready to strap on with no adjustment which is great but this is fantastic and I've been them been studying bills aiming technique bill uses a technique which I've never really used before he aims quite accurately actually to great effect and often I would use an intuitive method where mainly cos or just from hunting with them I'd go out and I'd see something and then just take a shot and it's a really great way of just instinctively taking a shot at something and hitting it and when you do make contact you know it all flows very well and it all makes sense you know it all feels right and that's really what you're going on you're going on feeling when you um you know an instinct when you shoot that way um but I find my consistency was lacking sometimes especially with targets and it would take me quite a great deal of time to warm up on some day so I adopted bills aiming technique which is a lot like shooting a rifle or a shotgun or any kind of sort of long barreled weapon I guess and I put a target just over there and I thought I'd just share with you this aiming style because I think if any of you are looking to buy a slingshot and you're not looking to spend a lot of money you want something good quality in you're prepared to wait a couple of weeks for it to be made and something like this will suit you in many disciplines whether it be target shooting or hunting but let's shoot this target hopefully you can see that target just over there you've got a pink piece of paper put up just because it stands out a bit better and I'm a fair distance away and so probably about sort of 25 yards and which is a great distance really for target shooting or um you know hunting you know sometimes you do tend to get quite close certain animals will freeze as you're walking along they think you haven't seen them and as soon as you make contact they felt today could be a good distance for you and sometimes things do freeze are long enough these to take a name other than an instinctual one so it's good to sort of practice really with both but what we'll do is we'll take a shot and I'll show you the gaming stock if I can hit it so straight through the center not too bad so that was a pretty accurate shot that was one hit straight through the center straight on down there through the woods and that particular type of aiming technique it's really really good if you want some consistent accuracy but what I'll do is I'll leave the camera this and take a walk up there and trust my instinct to take a shot at this without hitting the camera

it's a pretty accurate shot again about an inch and a half to the left of the original shop the actual style of shooting is really easy with this particular model and I'll just run it through you can see there that the bands are strapped on with some more thera-band around the top and they roll over just like that and the slingshot is held just like this the pouch is a small hole in the center and I've made sure that when I've tied the pouch is on when I pull them back slightly they're level they're absolutely level they're not like that like that or that will affect the accuracy so the setup needs to be correct first I've drilled a small hole punched small hole just in the center there just allows me to line up the piece of shot on the back of the pouch nicely so when I pinch it together and I don't pinch in front of the ball I pinch the ball just like that so almost when I let it go it slips through my fingertips like I've lost my grip on it so just like this and what you'll do I'll take the projectile out just to be safe is um when you aim and I'll use my finger to demonstrate just to give it some tension as you draw back just like that and then you drop your eye just then the slingshot and obviously the quicker you let go the less kind of shake you'll get when you hold for a while you start to get the shakes especially if the band sets quite tough so you'll see a little divot a little sort of dip just there and that's what I use to aim and the target is just above that divot literally just above it and if you're not hitting that target you'll be putting shots right past it so you'll have a pattern about dinner plate size really unless you're really really accurate like Bill and you'll probably be far better than that but so you draw back drop your eye and then the shot or the band should fly straight through the center just like that let's give it a go so that's really just a good aiming sign if you do keep that hand quite still you generally can see the tail of shot as well you don't get distracted by any more movement and your fraud handler you see that shot then you can start kind of tracer the round on where it's going a bit so that's really just a bit of an intro into this particular type of slingshot build sells loads of different types and really awesome ones on there and they're brilliant for hunting brilliant for target shooting if you do want to get into it you know they're not too expensive or something handmade and it's not off the production line so thanks for watching guys and I hope that video helped out

I'm a UK based outdoorsman who started hunting and fishing with my friends when I was young.

Educating yourself about your surroundings and having the core skills to sustain yourself using your environment is a lost curriculum in the United Kingdom. We are well provided for, so well that "why do anything if somebody else will do it for you". This lifestyle has drastically disconnected people from having the knowledge and skills required to spend even one night in the woods and not get hungry.

I love being outdoors and have never lost the desire to learn and practice skills that I get a sense of natural connection from. Hunting hangs controversy in the minds of many, but in my eyes there is nothing more natural if you choose to eat meat. I appreciate that not everybody hunts in moderation though.
