whenever I go camping I like to bring meals where I'm involved in the process of making it it's really convenient to have pre-made meals where you can put it in hot water and just rehydrate it but I like having at least one thing where I'm involved in the process where I'm cooking it so something simple that I like to do a lot of times just making flatbread and it's actually super easy to do even though you might get your hands a little bit messy all you need is flour and some water and sometimes I like to add some curry powder and garlic salt next thing we're going to do is add water just like you're making any other sort of dough you want to start out adding less water than you need because you can always add more water but you can't really take it out although if you do have too much you can always just put more flour in which it looks like I'm going to have to do what you're going to want to do next is once you've got this doughy consistency add some flour to the sticky parts and sort of work it around so that way when you handle the dough it won't stick to your hands and of course when you're camping you can just keep the flour in a bag or a container and mix the dough in a separate container okay so you've got this dough you're just gonna want to sprinkle flour all over it so at this point you want to start working the dough sort of needing it pass it back and forth through your hands and you're going to want to add more flour every so often because when you press it between your hands the sticky parts on the inside of the dough are going to get exposed you'll want to sort of knead the dough until it's more tough and

sort of more bouncy and in its texture so we're going to turn the stove on which is the indoor equivalent of putting the pan on the fire I suppose or turning your guests still on depending on where you are now you can bring oil with you if you want to do that the best way to carry it is probably in a water bottle or something because you don't want oil getting everywhere and making everything else in your bag oily now you don't need it in episode one we just stuck this right on a rock and then peeled it off afterwards but oil will give it a bit of flavor and will make it easier to get off whatever pan or surface you're using so I'm just going to do a little here now that the pan is hot you're just going to flatten it out in there you want to be careful of course of course you can flatten it out before you have the heat going but this works as well so i'm going to show you another variety of this that you can do and instead of putting flour on this to make it nonstick you're sorta going to put oil right into the dough and that also helped with the flavor you got to put your down the pan and i'm going to mix these chives in and sort of roll the dough in a way that there's multiple layers formed and it's sort of flaky in texture

so basically you want to keep folding and rolling these chives into the dough as you go and hopefully once you start cooking it this will form a lot of good flaky layers and of course you don't have to use chives from the store these are from my mom's garden but you can go find wild chives or leaks or any other sort of vegetable really that is to your liking that's really good and of course you can put whatever you want on top or inside of it you fold it over make sort of a taco type thing hmmm hot dog would go really well in there so this is sort of a traditional Chinese flatbread usually green onions are used instead of chives but it all has a similar flavor it's pretty good I forgot some salt I'll just add some on here now but yeah you can get creative with your stuff put cheese and nuts on it like we did you can mix some eggs in with the dough add all sorts of spices you can even put chocolate powder in there and make a sweet version or maybe cinnamon that's all stuff that we've done before and uh from not pretty well it's really good
