problem I often run into while I'm camping is that at night my feet getting it pretty chilly and when your feet are cold it can be nearly impossible to fall asleep and this problem persists even when I've got maybe like two layers of wool socks on and I finally tried to think of a way to make my feet warmer at night so I came up with the you know sock which is really just a hat with a string on it but the way the unis off works is that it's just like a mitten when you're wearing gloves your fingers are in these individual pockets and even though they're insulated there's a lot more surface area where cold air can come by and take away the heat whereas with mittens it's all in one little pocket and your feet sort of warm each other up and there's less surface area to have the cold take the heat away so the same idea is with this and you only need three things as you can see I've got my nice display pillow case and the three things you need are some sort of like thick woven hat I like things that are made of yarn or wool something like this because first of all it's warm and second of all since the weave is kind of loose it's easy to string something through it and you don't have to use a needle or anything second thing you need is an ordinary shoelace and the nice thing about these is it's got these plastic tips so you can just use that to weave through the fabric you don't need any sort of needle because it's doubly easy last thing you need is some sort of string lock and you can get these pretty much anywhere you can get like a pack of 4 for under a dollar and they're really useful so

it's super simple all you need to do is stick the string through the Hat start weaving it and I keep my stitches about one and a half inches apart and you just basically want it far apart enough that it's easy to open and close the hat but not so far that it sort of messes up your hat when you're trying to use it after you finish weaving the shoestring through the head you want to make sure that both ends are about the same length after that you feed the end of the strings through this string lock in order to keep the string lock on there you're going to tie a simple square knot on each of the shoe string ends and there you go you've got a complete yoona sock and so the idea what this is that you can just stick your feet in here and you cinch it up so that when your feet move around it doesn't come off and there you go and the nice thing about this is that it's actually a really versatile piece of kit so it not only works as you know sock it also works of course as a hat you can also use it as a stuff sack or a storage sack for your other pieces of gear or for food and if you need extra warmth you can take any sort of insulation be it cattail fluff leaf litter grass down downy feathers or even just any other clothes and things you have and stick that in with your feet too so it's sort of a pocket as well for extra insulation and I promise you that your feet will be much warmer yoona sock you should give it a try really only problem is if you need a hat at night you'll still have to carry two hats but oh well you
