hello guys is nick from hf survival school thank you for joining me as you see today we are not alone and with my boy max I miss him so much always going crazy today I want to talk about the survival fire starter on the budget which from my opinion and for my area works really great for me now first of all we can all agree that trioxane is the best fire starter for your this is what the US military uses and it is really the best but it is not cheap it is costs fifteen dollars for three trioxane bars and to basically it is starting three fires for fifteen dollars for me because that I don't live in the USA it is a really expensive and I cannot afford it all the time so I had to look for a different fire starter for my situation so I got this from the old timers and from the fur traders and from the trappers this is what they use all the time so let's get started so guys this is my survival firestarter a regular candle regular candle which you can buy anywhere you can find it in any house almost any house you can buy it anywhere and it costs almost nothing few cents just for one candle and a big lighter in a ziplock bag so that it is waterproof when you put in this ziplock bags close it and voila here's your waterproof to rival fire starter which you can put in your cargo pocket or as I usually could put it inside of my coat so this is what the old-timers and what the fur traders and all the trappers used and mold let's talk about why people fail to start fires I don't know why she's sitting over there because I brought a match so that he can sit comfortably so let's talk about why people fail to start fires mostly that is because the tinder which they are using is the weight or it is not processed down to the needed side so no people like to skip all of these fine feather sticks at the end that's why they sell so the egg handle and the big lighter will like this and this way we will have substantial source of fire and heat which are if the ribs which are we are using or are a little bit damp this will be enough to dry them and if you will be using a Ferro rod it will be not enough for heat and constant constant heat 24 for if we will be using a fair rod we may have problems lighting them for no tender because it is not a constant source of heat and it may be not hot enough to dry out the damn for tinder so let's start the fire [Music]

as you see i'm putting with feathers examples in the cellar six understand also that they get a little bit damp and so that i can show you actually what I'm talking about when I'm saying that you know it is good for constant heat to start the fire the place where me and Max are sitting is pretty dry until dry grass so so that I it won't be dangerous for me to start a small forest fire I will build my fire on this no I will make this kind of parkour channel so that the air can flow inside just like this so now i will just put this candle inside the snow like this and I'll light it up

[Music]

that's funny now I'll put it a few tweaks on the top edition also that I can place my tinder on it now i'll put put this feather sticks on the top of it Otis it can light up at this moment I can already remove the candle and I can save it for the next time so guys is you see I am melting some snow to bowl some water and make myself a cup of sprosi so guys I'm calling some spruce tips to make me a spruce tea so guys the water was boiling and I put the Spruce tips in so it should be ready any minute it should be ready man oh man I have not drank sick for quite a while and i will like it so i will let it cool down a little bit so that I don't burn myself for and I'll be right back and we'll happy that I'm back with my boy max and this video came out quite full for for this video came out quite short and but there is a reason for that I have some good video ideas for future the kind of widows that i'm sure you guys will like it and i will look really forward to it also now i'm planning a few overnights so that should be some good times so this may not be the worst world's best fire starter but it is really easy to find anywhere and if you need it if you need to have a survival firestarter this is a really really good option for that purpose so let's try the tea he missed me we're very much man nothing's better than this frosty so guys I think that will be all for today if you liked this video please give it a thumbs up subscribe to my youtube channel and you'll have more much by sharing this video on your social media you with those coming as soon as I can thank you for watching and have a nice day [Music]

I am not a bushcraft/survival expert in any mean , I am just a regular guy who loves to go out in the woods , have fun and learn something along the way with you guys :)

I am the first bushcrafter in my country and try my best to gain knowledge in wilderness living skills and survival , so that one day I will be able to live of the grid , live in the bush or maybe just go on a long term trip for a few months.
