hello God is Nick from H of Serrano school thank you for joining me today I want to talk about three bulletproof items for your bushcraft or camp cave if you're a beginner and have just started going out into woods doing stuff these are the most basic and needed tools to help you in the woods and make your life easier whether it would be processing firewood or building a shelter I have been using all of these tools for quite some time now and I can say that if you give them minimum care they will serve you for a long long time the first tool I want to show you is a hatchet this is a 13 inch handle hatchet made by Husqvarna total weight is about 2.4 pounds or a little bit over 1 kilogram which is a little bit on the heavy side but this extra weight comes in handy when splitting wood we had his hand forged in Sweden and I don't know how true it is but I was told that this hatchet had the same still as the high end wetterling's XS have straight out of the box it comes fairly sharp but I like to help my knives and axes wear a sharp that's why I sharpened it with my 1000 grit stone has topped it with a piece of leather after what I must say that it took a shaving sharp edge the price for this hatchet at the time of making this video is $35 on Amazon you could save $10 and buy a fiscal sachet but again for $35 you are getting a buy of a lifetime if you take care of this hatchet it will serve you for a lifetime maximum what can happen is the handle to break which can be fixed in a few minutes by buying a new handle for $10 or making one yourself I always prefer to make things by myself while the Fiskars breaks it will be useless and I have seen some guys break their Fiskars hedges one thing to notice too with access generally is the high risk of injury that's why most people don't like them the short turn the handle the higher the risk so make sure you practice in your backyard before going out alone the wilderness the second tool I want to recommend is a knife and the project knife of my choice will of course be the more a heavy duty this knife is the one I have used the most and still use almost all the time you probably all know it so I won't get in where details but basically it is made in Sweden the blade is high carbon steel this means you can use it with a Ferro rod to start the fire but it doesn't have a 90 degree angle spine this is not major problem if you spend small amount of time with a file you will be able to use it with a Ferro rod without any problems the heavy duty model is double the thickness of the Mora companion so it is twice as durable this is my multi-use knife and so far I haven't had any problems I have used and abused it I hope you turned with it but I wouldn't recommend batoning anything big because it doesn't have a full tank and it is not made for that purpose for splitting wood we have an X and we shouldn't use a knife like this for that purpose unless we don't have any other option the price of this knife at the moment of making this video is 11 dollars on Amazon I think that's a price that no other life can be eleven dollars for what you're getting is unbelievable the third tool I want to show you is a song I have two options for you guys which really depends on what kind of work you want to do in your soul the first one is a folding soulmate right back home called villa blender it is the most popular and well-known saw in the bushcraft community it opens up and closes with the push of a button which is really good because there is no way it can open up in your pack and damage it it has an 8 inch blade which is great for cutting both Greenwood and dry wood the price of the bankroll a planned oriented type of making this video is 21 dollars which is nothing for what you get and for save time and effort in the woods for general all-round purpose cutting small dead trees processing firewood and so on it is a great option but if you like to get most out of your salt to process thick pieces of wood in winter to cut down trees up to medium sized while waiting almost nothing and if you don't bother spending a few minutes making a frame for it or if you are on a really really tight budget then you should get a 21 each saw blade from battle as I said it weights nothing you can roll it and put it in your pot so that it doesn't take any place in the pack you have both options you can decide which one to get green wood or dry wood blade it cuts very well and it costs about 10 dollars on Amazon so if you don't bother making a frame for it when you go camping then this is the way to go so here are all three tools together if you see all of them have nice leader sheets and know they didn't come with them I made those myself although the whose corner hatchet did come with a leader mask and the morel comes with a plastic sheath which is really durable but I like more traditional look and like to make things by myself I hope this video helped you when I was starting out looking for this kind of we don't help me a lot all of these items are durable and entrusted by the huge community of bush crafters overall the price of the clothes wanna match it more heavy-duty immaculate lender came to sixty-seven dollars so for a little bit over $65 you can get yourself great tools which will let you for a long time and if you go with the pocket or saw blade then all three tools will come to as low as $55 I'll include Amazon links to all of the items mentioned along with some important links which you may find interesting so if you like this video please give it a thumbs up subscribe to my youtube channel and you will have know very much for sharing this video on your social media thank you for watching and have a nice day
