Improved Swedish Fire Torch design

This video will show an alternative way to create a swedish torch (also known as a canadian candle).

This is a very usefull way of producing a fire: it gives you direct flames for cooking and burn your log very well and efficently.

The most important tip is to create an empty space between the four sections of the log, shaving the inner edges. Than you can create feathers on the shaved inner edges to better catch the flames. Here the author fills the spaces among the log section with birch barks instead of the classic tinders.

Usually you start a fire on top of the torch, but you can even start from the ground, in this example burning the birch’s bark.

After a few minutes you get the powerful swedish fire torch running.
