hello guys welcome to survivor Asha so today I actually planned to break the trail further down to the Beaver Dam but it's not a good day today it's too warm it's like only - - the snow is sticking to the skis and so on it's not nearly awesome if you did August back of course as a roll in the comments section

he's over there he just been out regulating and so on but why I got nervous yesterday about the dog was that his pattern of disappearance was a little bit odd because normally he would just circle around in front of me and return now and then and but when he makes this squeak squeak sound this means that he actually caught something and I heard it three times no further and further away and as I said yesterday if it's a snowshoe hare something or pop cat or whatever Lynx they will run him into the ground and Lynx might even kick his who knows anyway he's back yeah so breaking the trail further today it's not gonna happen singly snow is sticking to the skis they're not waxed for this trim temperature and there's only a freak heat wave you know so I'm just gonna wait a little bit so today I'm I'm gonna run my mouth a little bit and I'm gonna show you two ways to make a fire like two minutes of starting a fire you can say one of them is house you actually can make a match out of a birch bark if you are in an area where purchase cares you can you can collect some perch and bring it with you and use it as a match several times but birth Park as many of you guys know is of course one of the best fire starters you can find and if you are in an area which has perch but not too much then it's a good idea to collect some in my opinion you can of course use man-made fire starters and so on but I oh I never do that I also get suggestions on you know using cotton balls with petroleum grease and whatever whatever but I just like to use what I have and what's available because that's sort of like everyday training you know I mean you could use to use it and then it's just like second nature then it's like ah I don't have any more men made first others and I have to you know I know ins and outs of how this works so let's take a look at it you can see yeah we have like a strip of birch bark nice and relatively sickly if you cut tightly through the birch bark yeah then you can fold it over like this so there's a few ways to do this actually like this and it will not curl because the outside of the birch bark is on the inside of this fold here right that's a good match you can also scrape it out on the end here and set it on fire that's a little bit more difficult you see we can get it going

and of course - char that starts a little bit easier so this is a good way to to have a sort of like a match sure what you can say is you can just put into the fire I'll show you that in a second so if you like to carry an accelerant or good fire start about what you can call it then the mountain bike in a tube or any inner tube it's a really good option I mean it can be used for other things and starting fires but this burns really really nicely and of course make rubber bands and all sorts of stuff of it I have on one of my small hatches I have a mounted bike in a tube on the handle so if need be I could take it from there I never had use for it but the CL works because we have a little bit of a damp pioneer slice see we can get all birch bark much we didn't snow over this huh in the tube burns really hot and pose for a relatively long time and smells really bad and in cold weather that can actually be pretty tricky to find really dry tinder or spruce and pine twigs because in the winter they will of course feel they will of course feel like you can break them they're full of water they will also break because they're frozen right so it's a good idea to train to go out and find out where thus most often whereas the lights weeks it's and so on and so on and so on yes that's how we can make sort of like a match from a piece of birch bark and start a fire with some mountain pagina tube it's a virus about two twelves were huge a large area of pine forest for example then I would of course collect some perch but but all these old branches on the pine as you can see up there you can see them everywhere they all contain fat wood to some extent if you cut them at the trunk so in case of a pine forest bird park would not really be needed but I would say some anyway just because I'm comfortable with bridge but but most woodlands have the things that works for them you know or things that works is just about knowing what works and how to find out what works is to get out and train and get done yeah that's basically the video for today because I have to go and pick up the in-laws they're coming yay I'm stoked so yeah you know what the holidays on this note I can just say thank you for watching I appreciate it and stop Sierra subscribe so bill sub like and all that good stuff and until next time get out and swing and get it done and see you next time here in window time Russia thank you very much for your time guys and Happy Holidays
