hello guys and welcome to survivor Russia welcome to another little episode of a reality of survival we are at the place where we left last time but anyway as I said last time I want to show you a way to make a fire on deep snow a snow is not that devious maybe 50 centimetres or something but it'll be good enough for demonstration purposes of course so also this method here is a native way of making a fire on deep snow is also another native way of making a fire without all the processing of wood so here we are at this proof that we downed last time with our silky gum boy to 70 that's another day this proves there is going to come in handy there we have the famous Russian in a k-pop ler ek poplar is an awesome tree as you can see in winter they grow out a K like firearms so that's a good thing also it's not really that cold today it's really really awesome because we have been down at minus 40 and minus 45 and minus 47 and you cannot do much in the cold like that but that's today's minus 5 it's like spring it's awesome let's get to it let's uh cut this spruce up and I'll show you how to make a fire on deep snow ok but let's try and recap fastly on the last video the last video I wanted to show the difference between a good folding saw and an X as a tool for a survival kit or what you can say Oh scouting kits backup kit oh yeah Tamizh all the same actually and there'll be a video up on that later but last time we use this so here 300 grams against this little small X hatchet vulture force it's about 1 kilo because the head weighs 800 grams but today I brought something weight-wise equally to this one and that is of course

the pig silky katana boy 500d this weighs one kilo 50 centimeter blade little less than 2 feet 500 millimeters this weighs one kilo this I'm going to use today to take off the branches of the spruce because this is fast and this is safe and it's silent as well lots of we out doing anything illegal but stumbling around in deep snow with a sharp axe this is much more controllable and I want to demonstrate the usefulness of good folding sauce so let's get on with that so in order to make a fire from a trunk like this on a deep snow cause have to deal in the tree it's really awesome the tree has a lot of branches and they are quite thick they're going to come in very very handy for this type of fire but you can see this is pretty effortless and yeah I'll just get on with it and leave you guys there on the a kpop dough that took about four minutes to cut up the branches here as many as we have cut off and so now yeah I have to cut this one off here

I would expect it to start to buy another little bit soon see the trunk is caught up dealing as much as needed took 13 minutes

let's put y'all right I think let's get on with it here's our fire Oh finally what I've done is I've taken a block of what you can say Big Branch put it onto there and then I put the the spruce logs on top three in the bottom two in the middle between the three of them - five is not good especially not one you have adjusted to below -20 C - hot now also large keys compared to the snowshoes because once you have your trades established boom boom boom just super fast so here we have this Bruce I managed to make 5 logs all of it there about 2 meters long a little is 6 feet 5/8 or something this is a dry spruce from the from the spruces down there to light it up with it's just some tweaks and stuff this is a smaller one you saw me cut off and also also these are not splits or anything they burn nicely also in the latest video when I was cutting down this this routier I had the questions but how will you process it how will you split the wood and so on and I mean I'm not trying to say this in a negative way or something like this but but in most cases is actually not needed I can understand if you want to split your logs and sits around the campfire and sing Kumbaya with your girlfriend and so on and so on but if you are in a hurry you don't really need it that's just my point is one of the points of this video actually very nice it's gonna light off really good to always collect some birch bark because then you'll never need to buy manmade firestarter

yeah I can see it honest enough to lie this guy in the world it's not sinking anywhere but this is one of the points with this with the folding sole versus the X and so on because as I say we're much more likely to carry a folding saw then a big heavy X and a folding so in my opinion can do a lot of things next can also do a lot of things when it comes to make a survival fire or fast fire what you can say in this the folding saw wins no problem hands down so the whole idea that you have to have an X to split wood you have to pattern which you have to split it to pin societies and to some size and to what not size it is not really needed if you are in a real forest and I'm not saying the real forest in an arrogant way I understand that everybody can live out in the wild nature but what this is what a real forest looks like this have been harvested or loved earlier of course but it's not artificially made the forests have have been allowed to to to regrow itself and you can see there's a big mix of spruce poplar and perch and there's also some willow of course eventually this proves will out-compete the other guys there and there will be spruce forests around here but it means that there'll be a lot of dead standing wood and the only thing you need is to actually cut it off and you have all the pencil sizes and the slum sizes and whatnot on one three here's why I called it a survival tree because it will make your fire and you don't have to do anything other than stand and the break the branches up or cut them up with your soul most of the so called that lies on all this that is given is also given by guys who sells axes and sales knives or anyway promote them commercially for the big knife and X companies right it's just how it is actually also read the other day that Ray Mears were coming out with a new book about maybe it's already out I don't know but about that we should learn more from the native ways and many of them are getting lost and that which is of course also true but it's important to learn from everything not only native ways not only military survival not only the standart the bush crafts many purposes and so on supposed to do things yourself to test things out and to invent things yourself right here for illustration purposes you should of course try and make this keep the fire going as far towards the end as possible and work your way back yeah guys that's not gonna be any cheat drinking because the Sun have already gone down and my wife's gonna be quite worried if I'm not the home before dark that's for sure yeah so I hope you liked the video on founded informational splitting of wood into pencil size and thumb sizes and pinky finger sizes is not always needed it's actually very rarely needed so please check the links in the description and so share subscribe sub like and sub barrel and all that good stuff and until next time get out and train and get it done see you next time here in winter time Russia thank you very much for your time guys
