hey what's up Turtles this Creek here black out outdoors and today I'm going to be doing a review on this hat I'm wearing which is the Outdoor Research multicam Helias Sun Hat and it has this brim running 360 degrees around on the Hat I think it's a yeah two and a half inch brim two and a half inch for him running the length of it and that's you know sort of makes it a Sun Hat is going to offer sun protection direct sun protection all around all around your head and the backyard neck your ears which is very important if you're going to be spending time in direct sunlight now a lot of our videos are shot in the canopy so I really probably wouldn't ever need to wear a hat like this unless the bugs are really bad which is really nice and I'll sort of touch on that again in a little bit so I guess it's a multicam option

I believe this hats going for 45 bucks MSRP I know you can find a little bit cheaper maybe a shipping it might come out to the same but as all multicam products go it's going to be a little bit more expensive than just you know more traditional like a tan OD green sod color or different color combination from a company but I really just like the multicam because it's really versatile camo if you're going to buy one and all the types of different environments you're going to be in this will work well obviously not snow but it'll work well in a lot of different environments and some of the specifics details of the Hat now it has a draw cord on the back here so cord lock and this bungee that runs around the hat the crown of the hat which makes it nice if you need to cinch it on your head a little bit more up lea this is a size medium i know it comes in different sizes it's not just the one size fits all but that's nice for me particularly i get you know my hair is really short in the summer so a hat will fit different as opposed if i wear it later in the year and it's colder my hair is grown out more so having a little bit of adjustable nests in the hat I really like personally this is constructed out of the 50/50 nylon and cotton there's no inner layer you can see the silhouette here this is just the outer layer that's going to be in the inside as well some hats have a mesh layer or different synthetic in here this one doesn't have it but it also has this sweat band running around at the length of it too which is really similar to a review I've already done as well or similar to the other Outdoor Research at the the radar pocket cap this same band is featured in that and the multicam as well but this is to keep sweat coming from off your brow to wick it away from your face

all that good stuff that you want in really hot days like it is today hot and humid it's really nice to have that little extra feature and it's also features this I guess we'll call it a chin strap this chin strap here and if you don't want it you can untie it here which I like that it's not fixed to the Hat you can actually untie it but it really doesn't you know take away from anything to keep it on the hat there's times where I don't want it around my chin or you know or on my back and I'll just put it up in the cat put it up in the top of the hat and put it on and it's not coming out anywhere but it is nice if it's really windy out and you're out an exposed field to be able to put this on so you know it won't fall off your head because this brim scent can sorta act like a sail and I want to pull pull the hat away from your face and if you don't want to really cinch it tight on your head which if you wear it for long periods of time it can give you a headache and so you can sort of do this as well you can't keep it to you without making it too tight around your head too much pressure around your head which can be very uncomfortable and I want to say this is yeah this is you piaf rated to 50 which is nice for a Sun Hat direct Sun Hat like I said and I believe that's pretty much the ins and outs of the Hat itself but as I mentioned before I want to talk about if you're going to if you're going to use this potentially in a bug net situation if you're out weather where the where the bugs are really bad and you need to wear a bug net a head net there's very few times in my life where I've actually been able or actually needed a bug net as long as the insects aren't biting me and they're flying around my face I mean I'm okay with it but once they start biting continuously and relentlessly it's when a bug net you need a bug net and I remember specifically one time in California when I was working in Northeast California they there's no seams there's things called noseeums and this is actually rated to keep those seams out so if you look for a bug net that's something to keep in mind - and those seams are basically biting gnats and I've actually seen when they've been so bad after the a Paul bloom which is kind of coincided locals said when they Paul blooms these noseeums come out be prepared I've actually seen them bring people to to tears so how much biting they do around the brim of the Hat between people faces just swollen from these little tiny gnats biting gnats you know literally just bringing people to tears and can really have allergic reaction by that much and it's really bad stuff but anyways all that being said having this brim going the whole way having the brim go all the way around a hat putting on a bug net will keep the bug net off of my face which is really nice you don't wanna if you do if you're going to use a bug net you don't want it right next to your face this keeps it off it creates a little bit of a barrier so say there's mosquitoes coming around you know their proboscis could probably go through this they can't fly through it but potentially if this was really not on my skin or on the back of my neck a mosquito could probably still potentially get proboscis through it but having this brim the whole way around the hat keeps it off of my head keeps it away from my face all that good stuff and I saw it just like wearing it like this you know I mean like a hairnet if I need I can pull it down real quick I think it looks probably pretty cool right now really functional but that's the bug net but on all you know really like real like this hat for the fact it's multicam your Stoney and I are really big fans of multicam for you know obvious reasons this is really cool this will it looks really cool and it works well in a lot of different environments but subscrip sending out with blak outdoors maybe turtles
