today is July 3rd which means we have been back out here on the Appalachian Trail for a whole month started on June 3rd back in Great Barrington over the past two years we have hiked quite a bit we've been on the trail we've been off the trail we've had heat snow broken tooth Lyme disease family loss we have had pain tons of rain and finally ladies and gentlemen we have Maine man is a hard off the back kind of scary so it looks like we're walking across a goose side mountain there's a handful of Peaks we were just up there on believe the north peak and the wind was so strong it almost blew was off the top water grabbed my camera but you know I was worried about holding onto my ass so it looks like we're going to keep on cruising down these boardwalks and then it looks like that is the I believe East Peak there's like three different peaks I can't keep up with them it's pretty awesome super steep super scary but fun main is fun right out of the gate we almost got blown off of our ritual fun stuff really swampy all this stuff is soft day two of Maine we are about to do one of the most infamous parts of the trail

it's called Mahoosuc snotch it is the longest hardest and funnest mile on the Appalachian Trail so it's just a giant rock scramble we'll go in and out of rocks under rocks through rocks and I'll try to film as much as possible so they say it's the longest mile so we feel we figured that we would time it so right now it is 746 and let's start

so it's July but because these crevasses are so deep there is a ton of snow and ice still in here all in the crevasses let's say that there's snow and ice in them all year round because of how enclosed it is that whole that whole or that whole took a big puzzle got a deck low

it's like we're going in and taking the pack off for this and then how long did it take us to dam on too damn long I mean is a super beautiful but super hard hard a strain but beautiful on the top of Saddleback mountain we were told that on a clear day you can see Katahdin that way but we can't see shit because it is super foggy whiteout kind of eerie out here and we're soaked from the fog I guess so as you can see we had a pretty soggy day all yesterday all the day before and all last night and just pissed a strain on us cold rain to see that for the tenth it's pretty damn wet everything that we have is wet bags packs sleeping pads everything so a good thing is today we hit the two thousand mile mark so we are officially two thousand milers here in a little bit it looks like we're going to go ahead and just take a short day into Stratton Maine and I think we're going to get a room for the night and dry out everything we have is what the Maine is really pretty but Maine is very very very rainy so let me get out of here and hike these seven cold wet miles into town

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!

Hike On,
Darwin
