what's up guys it's Darwin I'm here with a post eighty through high gear review on a new product that I got right before we hit the trail I used to use my down jacket my Marmot Zeus as my pillow I would fold it up and it made a nice big pillow put it behind my head this year since I switched to the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer jacket it doesn't really pack up that way so I was in search of something to help promote better sleep so I decided to pick up and check out the sea2summit arrows ultralight pillow so whilst you're on the trail I actually kind of made fun of people that carried those little air pillows especially since I had my down jacket that I use as a pillow and like to use it for double D again whenever I got rid of that down jacket this year went out a couple times and I just wasn't getting my head elevated enough and wasn't giving as good a sleep so I thought I'd check one out anyways and I took a chance on the arrows ultralight um I really really love this guy as goofy as it is it only weighs two ounces for the pillow it has a nice soft still not feel to it and it's nice big and thick um you can also let air out of it and make it a little smaller and squishier if you want but this thing really helped me get some great sleep on the trail again wasn't sleeping so great at first as soon as I got this perfect sleep every single night so it was totally worth me carrying it now with the arrows pillow they give you this nice little SIL nylon stuff sack it doesn't weigh anything and it packs down about this small which is super nice if you're going to put it in your pack but to save a little bit of weight barely and in space I actually just wrote it up with my thermal rest so in the morning whenever I got done rolling up my mattress I would just roll it right there inside of the mattress so it was there and I knew where it was going to be the next day didn't have to dig around my packing searched for it the other cool thing that sea2summit did with this instead of your traditional valve like on a thumb rest is they put a 2-way bow line if we open up the first little hatch and take about two breaths you can fully inflate the pillow super easy to do and super fast whenever you're at camp and then to deflate it you open up the second part of the valve just squeeze the aera so really super convenient lays nice and flat and you can throw it in the pad and roll back up so again this guy has definitely been one of my new favorite pieces of gear especially only at two ounces it's not much to put in your pack to help promote a lot better sleep so hopefully you liked this review like or dislike this video subscribe to my channel if you haven't already make sure you go over and check out Darwin on the trail calm a lot of new things happening over there is I get ready for the Arizona Trail and the PCT plus snuggles is still posting every Monday brand-new diary entries that she kept while we were out on the Appalachian Trail this year so thanks for everybody that's been watching my videos a lot more reviews coming your way as always guys thanks for watching

you

Darwin Onthetrail

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!

Hike On,
Darwin
