hey guys it's darling so today I wanted to do a quick review of a new piece of gear that I'll be using next year on my PCT thru-hike and that's the blitz wolf 9000 battery charger [Music]

so last year on the 80 I carried a power add slim to battery shredder it works great for what I needed because I was just carrying an older iPhone and a gopro session that little guy was five thousand milliamp hours and it worked great for what I needed but next year when I hike the PCT I'm actually going to be carrying a few different items the iPhone 6s plus so that way I can use apps take some better pictures and just have a longer battery life in general in the canon g7x mark ii camera that way I can shoot much better video to do some travel vlogs for you guys so because I upgraded my electronics I need to upgrade my battery pack so recently I picked up one of these guys this is the blitz wolf 9000 no amp hour charger a killer little charger that's not really much bigger than the poweradd slim to you that I carried and it's almost double the amount of power that this little guy will hold I've been using it now for a couple months and I'm really digging it so far and I think it's definitely gonna work for me out on the PCT so let's go over some specs on it so the boots wolf 9000 is a 9000 milliamp hour charger it uses a Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 output now what that means is it has a 3.0 USB and that is a dual USB versus some of the other chargers in the Oder charger that I had was a USB 2.0 and it only had one USB so that means that I can charge two items at one time so I can hook my camera up and my phone and get a full charge on both at night while I'm sleeping in my tent now the blitz wolf 9000 weighs in at 8 ounces which is a little bit heavier than what my last charger was but because it has almost double the amount of energy in it totally worth it and as you can see it's about the size of a pack of cards now this guy will charge my iPhone 6s plus two times and that's at a 10 percent charge so whenever my phone gets down to about 10 percent that's when I plug it in and it takes roughly over an hour to get a full charge on that phone and then I also get one charge on my canon g7x so that's my phone twice and my camera wants and keep in mind most times all the

running my phone on airplane mode to help conserve battery and I'll be carrying two extra batteries for my camera so this guy should last me pretty long on the trail the Blitz wolf takes a little over five hours to get a full charge which isn't bad the Blitz was closest competitor is the anchor 10,000 paracord speed which is a great charger it weighs roughly the same I think that the anchor weighs in at 7 ounces where this guy is an ounce more they both use that quo comm 3.0 quick charge system and like I said they're roughly about the same size like a pack of cards now even though the anchor charger is a thousand milliamp hours larger know what the blitz wolf is the one thing that I really do like about this guy over the anchor is it has that dual charging port so the anchor only has one so I can't plug two items up to it at night while I'm sleeping well I really like the Blitz work is I can plug my phone and my camera up at the exact same time go to bed and when I get up in the morning both will be fully charged and a big cosmetic difference between this and the anchor as this is actually made out of an aluminum where the anchor is made out of a plastic so I feel like this guy will be just a little bit tougher if I do drop it on a rock or something it feels like it's a little bit tougher for the field now one of those anchor Chargers is going to run you right around $36 over on Amazon or this guy only being a thousand milliamp hours shorter is right at 30 bucks so it definitely saves you some money if you decide to go with the Blitz Wolff my overall impression of this guy has been pretty good I really liked taking it on the trail and I'll be taking it out next month whenever I do a small section hike of the CD T to really put it to the test in the field and see how tough and how long this will last me whenever I'm out on the trail so again you can find these guys over on amazon.com for 30 bucks sometimes cheaper I'll leave a link in the description box below if you want to go check those out for yourself you haven't got a chance yet go over and check me out on Instagram I've been posting a lot of new photos lately of some of the things that snuggles and I have going on throughout the week plus some pictures from some past hikes so go check those out if you found any value in this video go ahead and hit that like button subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and as always guys thanks for watching [Music]

Darwin Onthetrail

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!

Hike On,
