it's like being back in the whites this is actually a mild 2020 but for some reason they keep mark mrs. mild mm actually hit mild mm not yesterday of the day before so that's pretty old and outdated but it's cool nonetheless so if you stay at Pierce Pond lean-to in Maine it's right before the Cantor BEC River so before you have to cross the cannon back in the canoe there's this awesome little blue blaze that will bring you to Harrisons Pierce pond cabin it's an old fishing cabin where you can stay in these little bitty cabins for the night you can fish the river or do some trout fishing fish at Pierce pond but the amazing thing is they offer a huge pancake breakfast to hikers in this place is super cool Harrison is an awesome guy this place was built I think in either the 20s or the 30s so it's kind of always housed hikers but take you for a little tour inside really old rustic cabin

Harrison spends all year up here kind of doing his thing so let's go check out this head this place is super super cool so since the eighties inception the only way to get across the can avec is to take a canoe a ferry which is pretty cool so if you decide that you're going to walk across it it's actually cheating because the blaze is in the boat so if you're gonna get all of the blazes and you walk across it you failed so don't hike across it plus it's cool to take a connect

morning so I am here in Monson Maine which is our last 80 town on the trail we came in yesterday and we're staying here at the famous wonderful Shaw's used to be located right on the trail they rerouted it some years back but a very famous place for hikers it's been here for a very long time super cool place super great people I'm about to have the famous Shaw's breakfast everybody always raves about but today whenever we leave here we'll be walking into the hundred mile wilderness so that's a hundred mile wilderness at the end of it is Katahdin so today is Saturday and Friday the 22nd we should be something so again I'm gonna go get some of this famous shells breakfast you guys stop here in Monson definitely stay here it's an awesome place poet sagir emporium poet and his wife hippie chick you are previous thru-hikers recently bought shaw is about a year ago from the original owners and they've done a great job with it it's really excellent place really really comfortable super nice people the gear shops great they have everything you need

heard a lot of people say don't resupply in Monson because it's expensive shawls desert right they have everything you need Knorr mashed potatoes tunas all of that we got a couple of boxes from some family members thanks a lot guys but yeah Shaw's is definitely good place to resupply put your feet up for the night and to get rest before you get into the under bottle so date

we are three days away from finishing the 80 and we finally get our first view of the big mountain Katahdin so it is the last night that we are camping on the trail before we get to the birches which the birches as some of you might know is at the base of Katahdin so it will be our last night on the trail so tonight's kind of our last regular night on the trail and I wanted to show you guys our amazing campsite really cool way to have our last night it's gonna be a little bit windy so bear with me and you'll also notice the tent is a little tilty but it was totally worth it you'll see why

how about that ladies and gentlemen we have made it out of the hundred mile wilderness and we are on a ball bridge and check out our there she is there's the summit right under that cloud be up there tomorrow morning absolutely beautiful

amazing amazing sight long time coming you

At the end of 2014 my wife Snuggles & I decided to quit our jobs, sell 95% of the things we own, & leave our home town for good in search of adventure, culture, & the true meaning of happiness. We bought a van, traveled all over the country & hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (2189.2 miles). We are still seeking adventure in new places, meeting new people, trying new food & drink, & discovering all that we can.

This Channel has developed into a main hub for aspiring hikers & current hikers to gain info on a wide variety of Trail Topics. With a series of Trip Videos, Q&A, Tip Videos, & Gear Reviews, I aim to get you out on the trail and hiking more!

Hike On,
Darwin
