Lightweight Tarp And Bivvy Set Up

Description

This is my lightweight tarp and bivvy set up, which weighs only 1.6kg or 3lbs 9oz. While it's very light, it's also very protective - as protective as much heavier set-ups. I featured the components of this lightweight camping outfit in a previous video about lightening the load in your rucksack. Here I wanted to show you how it looks when set up as well as demonstrating how quick and easy it is to set up. The tarp is a good quality silicone nylon tarp with enough coverage for one person. Combined with a lightweight bivvy bag by Snugpak, a minimalistic goosedown bag by Mountain Equipment and one of Thermarest's lightest self-inflating mattresses, you have a winning combination of minimal weight and maximum performance.
