but I wanted to get a tent for cheap online just a one-man tent and I had a look online and typed in those different things on the internet and I stumbled across this one-man tent the Yellowstone Matterhorn and I just wanted to do a quick review of it really and just see if it meets the requirements of what I do just a bit of camping really hiking and so I'm not looking for anything expensive but oh yeah I thought I'd do a review for you guys why is the tent and outer case sort of the pack size is about I think 50 centimeters it's really light it's only 1.5 kilos and it's got a hydrostatic head of I think it's mm got a low learn kind of instruction booklet there put a picture of what it looks like and some instructions on the inside and then more measurements just if you wanted to know the exact measurements of the tent but yeah it's got hydrostatic head of 2000 PS and you know suppose you quit I'm not expecting amazing things but just something to keep me dry really okay so it comes with this kind of an instruction manual there I guess but putting up tents if you put them up before can be quite straightforward but always best to read the instructions first really here's the pack again small size really nice and lightweight there's obviously the ground sheet there that's attached to the tent itself I think it's got an inner layer and an outer layer like a fly sheet but yeah nice and lightweight we'll get it unwrapped and hopefully put them up well is the contents of the bag so there's the kind of main body of the tent the inner layer over the ground sheet there then there's the fly sheet and the tent poles in there and some 10 pegs in there there's the tent unraveled then itself and it's got kind of a mosquito mesh which I guess is great for there's some summer camping if the weather's good fairly small but I'm not looking for a massive tent I kind of want as small as possible really well there's the tent poles and really quite small actually but they do have a really cheap feel to them and tent poles have a tendency to snap and crack so just be careful when you're putting them up well here's the kind of inner tent that I set up literally set this up and less than probably less than a minute ready it's really quick down in four places I've just picked it there there and then the two ends up there I'll probably pick it down on the sides as well this material here is really cheap feels very cheap the seams are definitely not amazing and there's quite a bit of stretch up on this bit here and I can't see it lasting too long possibly at one season wonder but for 30 quid what do you expect but yeah the seams especially down here it's really tight on these seams and around the other side is similar it just gets really tight but other than that you know I like the construction of it it's it's definitely got quite a bit of room really this is the head end up here and then your feet will go down there and I like the mesh there lots of mesh there so the summer camping it'd be really good sleeping under the stars and as well as even when you've got a fly sheet on that should allow for the condensation really to escape so well should prevent condensation so the water vapor you breathe out should hopefully escape and not build up on the fly sheet as much and you don't get as wet so I can see the fly sheets are gonna go over the edge of this kind of main structure here and leave a gap maybe that big or so and in between the fly sheet and the kind of mesh the mosquito mesh here so that hopefully should prevent the condensation and there's a nice fit to protect your feet there as well this is the door here again the zips feel pretty fragile little girls it just feels very fragile really I wouldn't be thrashing this around much a nice big zip for the entrance it's all up there and niskin this can roll back on itself and you can either roll it up in the stoppers here I guess so these before but unlike a nice big entrance you know and quite easy to get in the tent but I got to put the fly sheet on now and then see what it's like well the finished product is like so got it up with the with the main flight suit now there's a guy rope at each end on going up the head for the tender and one going out kind of foot in there again here's the doorway fairly wide when he set it up but I guess that give give me room for my pack and things like that as you to carry a 35 liter pack say I think that would fit in quite comfortably comfortably they're pegged in three corners they're pegged in at the side here another three pegs down here and then one in the side up the door by here you can all say looking down here you can peg the door in as well when it's stormy you can just peg that bit down as well so the door is it which is quite a good touch really just to stop that zip blasting open when the when it's really windy so that's quite good the other thing you've got is a vent system here a little you can see mesh just at the top through there it's not really sometimes usually have a thing that holds them open a bit but it doesn't have that just got the velcro bit so it does kind of sit down a bit on itself and so it's not probably gonna get much use really but it doesn't I'll cementery I think the other ones a bit better actually this one holds open a bit more again be nice to kind of have a better material to go in there just to keep it pinned open but it's got a vent system anyway which is handy for the rain condensation this the fly sheet itself does feel a bit a bit more better quality than the inside tent it should be really because this is the this is the stuff that tastes the battery and seems don't feel amazing they're kind of very cheap material cheap stitching again probably a one season wonder but we expect for the price that you pay well here's the tent with the door up as you can see there's the inner section of the tent there and you can see clearly out of fly sheet which I've rolled up and it's got toggles a toggle there that you can flip it to and another toggle down here which is we just get it's nice to have tips and we don't get too much of a SAG on the inside there's only one toggle so the bottom bit does sag a bit quite nice have another toggle really up there just to keep it a bit more open make it easier access but it's not it's big enough to get into certainly you know easily some of these one-man tents are quite hard to get into but no and there's a good gap there from white pack as I said earlier I take a 35 litre air bag usually when I go walking and hiking and stuff and that fits quite comfortably in there and there's still enough room there for the thing to come down and sit down as I'm saying this there's the head end you see the head of my sleeping bag and that's the tail and they're kind of this does get kind of sag a bit not really much to pull it tight but you know there's the fly sheet on top which is tight which are the main things so even if that does rest on your feet doesn't matter too much plenty of height really for a one-man tent and Headroom but we'll get inside and we'll have a look inside and see what other features we can find oh we've got a little pocket here again really fragile stitching very cheap stitching there so I wouldn't put anything heavy in this pocket it's got all your instructions in here as well so if you need if you didn't need those big instructions outside and how to set it up it's got your kind of safety messages as well just flick that in there you can get it out away because it's actually stitched in but you could probably cut it off if you wanted to or you can just leave it in there so there's plenty of storage there for the mesh netting that down now as well so that would be the kind of viewing window that's the pillow end and there's a good gap between the inner inner one and the the inner sheet and the other sheet as you can see out here you know there's unfortunate there's no door this side so you can't really put any gear that side unless you pull out the tent peg then you can put some lift it up and put some stuff in there but quite a bit of room there for some storage actually well I'm in the tent and there's pretty cozy got plenty of room in my head still they I'm only about five foot seven so I'm pretty small if you're a six foot I don't think this tent would be yeah well if you you probably get away with six foot if you only think about six foot this tent definitely wouldn't be for you again I'm really got a pillow I don't I don't take a big pillow with me when I'm camping so that would take up quite a bit of room if you had pillow but I just got a little blow-up inflatable thing under here but it's great really it's not too bad at all I'll show you around the bottom end as you can see so still room for my feet really this bit again sags it doesn't pin up but that doesn't bother me because the the fly she's nice and tight anyway so there's there's plenty of legroom really and even when my sleeping bag in it it's not taking up space and to be honest I've got quite a bit of space down the side of me where I can still put another pack if I wanted to or shoes or for me it's fishing rods because I like fishing so I could still fit some fishing rods down along there as well there's definitely plenty of space in here and for the weight of one one and a half kilos there's it's not a bad vibe really - 30 quid whether it be waterproof that's a different question it's got the hydrostatic head rating of 2000 but that doesn't include you know when it's driving wind and rain dynamics of it I think it would be quite good in the in the wind again the stitching stitching isn't amazing it'll probably probably start pulling apart after you probably after two years really definitely off piers but I think if you looked after it well enough for you be okay sweat tight down there you can see the outside vents just up there but it's not great anger really but you can see them there there's another vent up there that's the head end and again I've still got you see size of my hand I still got quite a bit Headroom really up there to roll so across the chest area there's a plenty of room to roll around if you having bad dreams but yeah other than that probably get a bit of a draught going under there I think what most one man tents usually have that gap unless you Pegg came in a bit closer and pegged it down tight to try to shut that gap off but in the summer months you'd be glad of that lots of mesh and mosquito mesh which is good for the condensation to prevent a bit of condensation but overall would probably give it a solid six out of ten I'd say for the further money the thirty quid six out of ten but then I'd probably use it in the rain yet so it might go down that rating who knows turn about the bag earlier 35 litre bags you can see it fits quite easily down there with the main fly sheet over it still still fits really comfortably so plenty of room in this area here as well for anything X any extra so for the weight and the size of it and the price it's not too bad because I learn about the stitching earlier you can see it's early and they sort of single stitch they're just very thin going into the ground sheet so just look after it really that probably pull out quite easily if you were really targeted hard or if you step on it so just be wary of this the stitching but I do like about it there's this raised the raised area it's really important really to stop that drafts coming in and to keep you a bit more waterproof as that kind of raised grouchy there this goes all the way around the edge of the tent which is important so that is a good bonus there

you
