I decided to test out the new Hunting Tower at The Bushcraft Camp. I took my .177 Walther Rotex RM8 and this time my Dad joins me to cook up some food on the camp fire after a bit of target practice in the woods with the Air Rifle. Hope you guys enjoy it - Mike

hello guys welcome to PA outdoors and it is absolutely tipping down you will notice we're under the top we're here at the bushcraft camp which I just recently finished I literally just finished camp update 11 hope there's a link in the video description if you guys want to watch that and I'm here with my dad I've brought him along with me what we're going to do we're going to try and put some targets out for Mike to use his hunting cow yes also we're drinking Jack big steak

I will lean up in it I really haven't been nothing yet I'm Anna it's really neat how you do a connective as well I'd say I said the topic is simply about 15 in a top 15 feet or might be totally about 12 yeah 12 15 feet is big it's cool it's really bright hasn't seen these targets I'll make Mary's plate massage they're not bull's-eyes we're on the wall so we're going to have wall fully authenticated drawing play for this and painted hand-painted of immaculate creatures I'm looking for a while creatures yeah you know immaculate I'm looking forward to it and obviously the reason we're doing targets is because that way I can bring the egg on out and if there's no vermin or anything like that around then we can just practice and we wanted to get an idea of what the shooting would be like from the tower properly you know at different distances I'm going to go we're going to do is I'm going to put these beautiful artistic designs up on the trees on a special system we show you how we're going to do it and then I'm going to get Mike to scope in on them yeah and see if you can find them and you're going to tell me what creatures are see that big through the middle at the back yeah oh yeah okay yeah he's off put some targets up

so we've got a target just there if you can see the rat on the tree there's another target there you just put that one up and there's another one there that's all the way down there this should be a good one okay so guys what I've done is cut these I've got some a piebald

and I've sawn something out because I'm really good at woodwork and I wasn't allowed to take it to school so done that's absolutely the truth put metal work fail bet well the whole CSC certificate of secondary education I failed it

how dumb is that I was so bad they wouldn't let me take would work you won't be surprised when you see what I've made here this is hmm that's the best I could do for a rat it's not bad I'm only showing one I need to show Mike one don't find the others what I've done is just put a light tack in there just to rest it on I thought several different ways of doing this and I'm hoping when the pellet hits yet human a man can hit it with a gun it's going to come off or drop down and just relocate it how easy is that we've got balance it may be little windy day when we're so good and I've got a white eye there is that where we've got to aim for the are any that's a kill shot that's a free beer from dead oh if you get it through the eye oh okay challenging is that we don't know how long this an ass it's just fun guys it's just fun that's all we're going to do is get you get your eye in as it were and it makes it interesting then the back stops as we call them there's 50,000 back drops here miles of forest and it's a pellet guys it's not seven or eight or whatever they call it so there you go that's the first one but mine's not going to see the others we're gonna get in the town now you got to get out the town coped in see if you can find the others let's go take me a bit of a while to put a lovely mince I is sorry yeah it's a little nice solid yeah it's almost like somebody dug a massive holding the grill concreted in a fence post yeah it's not trust me it's not no raining still splitting with rain we got two tripods two tripods oh no it's blended in we've got we're not done this we just literally turned up in the rain stop test we're going to try and get one camera close to the lens so this one doesn't zoom the one I want to do is not exhibit we are the zoom in I get the other camera

so obvious we got GoPro as well I'm not going to go down there and stand hold it we'd like to see if one of those threat actually does come off the tree yeah right

this is my air rifle sub twelve foot pounds the water rotecks rm8 it's got a buddy bottle up here and corks scope it's an eight shot magazine so we set up eight targets to go try and get all eight in the been working in eight shots and then also got a silencer on the end here or suppressor and I've also got a little tripod at the front which extends up but I won't be needing that today that's just for when I'm shooting lying down or prone the gun has actually had first blood dad dad's been using it at home where he's had you've had a bit of a pest issue with your squirrel 78 personally that salutely annihilated some of his feeders bird feeders all the small birds are gone from your garden but since then they've been back because dad's whacked about three of them but yeah it's a Manali stock lovely like I love this Manali stock and some nice checkering there's a grip most of the weight up here at the front but that's where I'll be resting the barrel on foot when I'm hopefully shooting these targets just the pellets I'm using just 177 obviously the guns 177 caliber these are for a half mil or 8.4 grains because I know some of you work differently with your pellets not many left really if indeed you Pete you've got a few of these two haven't you as well those screws it's quite tricky yes and I'll just show you the magazine let's get it out to you bolt action that's the magazine there I've just put a little luck I've kind of customized this put a little indent in there little divot which I made with file so that when I load the magazine like that I know that as this spins round when it comes back round again and I see that pit then I know that I've got one shot left just helps me if I'm losing count of my shot so eight shot rotary magazines nice and smooth as well I've found and these pellets have done really well in this gun look very very accurate I thought I've use a few but these are definitely more accurate this big argument about you know we're not arguing big debates and stuff between two twos and 177 s obviously t2 is a bigger bigger pellet bigger caliber but I went for 177 for the accuracy and I think it's just as effective really I think the target shooters mostly is 170 anyway well even though even the game hunters and things like that they do use 177 just react you see if you get a good enough shot and you get accurate it will kill game and you've zeroed in at what zeroed in at 25 yards which is actually most of these targets are probably 20 yards but there's a few I've seen you put up ones at about 3035 so we've got a good mixture of distances once probably about 15 actually so that'd be interesting that's the rat that gets splattered just safety thing goes if you're walking around and well in a public area obviously make sure your guns covered up and things like that and you've got your safety make sure your safety is on and don't carry it around with the magazine in it unless you are on site ready to shoot so you know I'm on site now I can put the magazine in none of these common sense you know youngsters care about what you're doing think think like that see that's ready but it won't fire because the Safety's on and it's a double safety so that needs to be pushed in for the safety but in order to do that you need to push this at Lieber as well so it's kind of like a two-step safety mechanism which just helps you accidentally knocking that safety in but we're ready to go now I don't need the bipod either you need the pellets guys I'm gonna be using a big camera here because obviously there's a nice big full zoom on this one and it's going to be a bit noise because that storm has gone through but I think what's happened we've got a light airfield what few miles from us and I think they're far in all the planes and helicopters in there probably to get away from the storm so you're going to hear noise yeah the noise you're going to hear is me giggling when Mike misses the rat up to the hunting car okay we already I might lower one or two of these is to give me a bit of room to shoot a couple of degrees change okay guys so the rat is probably about 15 yards you probably won't be able to see it we've got two cameras so we'll show you again on dad's camera but just so you can see the it's a slight drop I'd have to give it a bit of hold under probably because it's a bit of a drop but we will see dad's down there you're learning camera rolling so dad's got the camera rolling just down there you can see it there the targets just in front of it and I am locked locked and loaded and ready to shoot at the rack ready dad yeah

be down right now you down hope you guys saw hope you guys saw that on their dad's camera okay guys the rat is down I'm on to the next target which dad's just setting the camera up there I got the rat pretty good I think just under the eye pretty much on the nose with a bit of hold under ready dad so I'm on full zoom on the on the scope to get the best accuracy from it and I can see dad's camera there it's got a focus so what is it it's certainly some sort of bird

what Dad what is that it's supposed to be what is that a pigeon dad does read those I take it you didn't do art at school dad no fan from that as well that is ridiculous look at it it's a pigeon with a different coloured wing it has a brown ring right you ready far away now he's he's probably about 20 yards I say this on 25 reckon no I don't think so

whoo pigeon down safety on well that goes over there you down you probably can't see man where's the bird baby birds - next target what on earth is that dad what is that it's one seriously oversized squirrel that alway always took a badger that is ridiculous right that's about 25 boom squirrel squirrel squirrel - what is that that pie isn't there's no creature there's known to man what is that a rabbit rabbit nice shelf King dad right is he slightly toasted you reckon same distance okay boom good he's down ready nice noggin try putting the waiter right next target so we have a squirrel that is what's the gun is mouth that is a squirrel smoking adjoined interesting Oh think I got him he smoked the smoking squirrel players a 30-plus yards I reckon so we're just next to squirrel is that one of the creepy foxes against over the human lays what's wrong with his eyes he's just a friend he's a friend he's being around the squirrel smoking a joint and right before yeah

oh geez he got across I okay he's closer he's quite a bit pacer boom I've got spit go right through it Oh hit a stick hit the state discovering him oh oh oh where did that hit your long right where did that him so camp is behind me kind of check out some of the targets this bad boy Achilles does that be pretty much it kill shot there straight to the mouth what is that what is that and then squirrel oh that's a kill shot boom nice shot

that's cool as well look and let me just pick me up reset them see them again yeah that's a good shot kitchen pigeons up here I think this is the really long distance one I just clip them just clips in the back of the head I think they're the rat the rat not nails they're all at different elevations as well obviously a rat Jimmy wouldn't be that high that's cruel we'll be back in the shoulders long shot right on the smile not a headshot I would have liked a shot on that gremlin well that was certainly a bit of fun that's what it's all about isn't that been out there any joy or so without system we haven't even killed anything yet oh yeah we're just shooting targets but it's also for me to get an idea you know what it's like shooting different ranges from here and at different elevations because targets weren't all at the same height we've got the fire going down here on the fire pit we've got the bitty cam boiling and we're going to cook up some food which we'll show you about in a minute and and we've got some theory time coming yeah you know the other thing was worth mentioning it was interesting when you did some time ago that an American sniper came on because people going oh so you're really poor and he said this American sniper is the same principles apply shooting close to range you still got the wind you still got the elevation it is still the same so if you can lead pencil yeah it sort of the pencil avi said you got to shoot the end of a brother of a pended rubber off a pencil at like 25 yards it's the same a shooting person the enemy at like a thousand yards so there's very interesting so thanks for your forgiveness

if you assigned to snipe American sniper sniper cleanness yeah yeah those Billy in the fire pit we've we've buttoned up some wood yeah I reckon that's boiling you know yeah tea coming buddy awesome and burnt hay off the hands basically cooking guys egg Worcester sauce or is it was too sure sauce or Shire sauce I think it's mr. Shire so for those who live in foreign countries they think my teeth have fallen out push the screw shoot Worcestershire Worcestershire sauce if his home pepper that one egg shaken up that's ready to go nice and easy and in here good old proper ham sliced ham all that with us a little bit of cooking oil so it doesn't stick from the pan dad I like to call dad mr. Tupperware yeah because the a lot where all the time so we've got the Bugattis brewing yeah santé embers now pretty much yeah we should get it it's pretty there sure probably put a meeting first the eggs won't take long at all normally that's what we do we get these little containers at their fun listen I'm not going out and eating three caterpillars and a dandelion leaf trust me you know bushcraft is great if you like bush class I just like the outdoors like a lot you guys out there you want to go outdoors you want to cook something eat something minimal hassle we will however I think might be bring it in stuff like pigeons pheasants yeah obviously fish how many you know you catch some in season I think that's ready to rock and roll that's fair to moving and bubbling and boiling the smokers are going in my eyes yeah that's going to go follow I love that sound that's music to an outdoorsman's ears so explain what we're doing we're going to burn the pan stick most of the fruit of the pan throw the food away and eat the pan yeah we're just going to this is all cooked it's all really cooked listen just like regular ham like you have ham and eights and stuff like that in the States and cannibal stuff exactly the same thing to benefit over someone like the wonderful Waffle House where we used to go Floyd and then we the IHOP what was that I have quite Hobbes's well yeah International House pancakes yeah the benefit is that they do not give you smoke in the eyes nicely air-conditioned places out here in the open you get smoke in the eyes and listen if you burn it it doesn't matter you're going to eat it it's part of being outdoors they're hunting tower in the background and actually it rained and I went under there and I didn't get too wet at all did I you you were out there getting a bit wet bit and target oh you were going to tar pit well I was going to put I was going to put tarp on the top of it but actually it's pretty well seal than in this wooden of anyway there's so many trees that's why I think you'll get it's fairly accurate if you want to come up here and mess with the targets yeah I think you will get actually because there's no crosswind is it no it's all yet protected need a bit of crossing but nothing major any snipers out there can you tell us are there any tips for maybe humidity levels if there's no wind in here you tend to think this exact are we only work on projected get

as well trajectory and Worcestershire sauce erecting you trajectory is that all you have to worry about your elevation up and down don't forget my keys up high and he's shooting down no I used to watch them hunting a recent shooting but when I was a kid years ago and I think when they used to kill not some animals which you know they they probably don't shoot too much now and in places like Africa or do this but I know remember then if you're shooting up a hill do you have to aim low and when you're shooting down a hill if you have to aim oh hi I can't remember what it was hold under and hold over yeah yes I would something the shooters will tell you definitely out there in this egg in there Olly together guys scrambled eggs omelets call it what you like it's going to get cooked and then it's going to get eaten

what are your thoughts that on camp now that it's finished well you've got to look at it from a lot of these people they like survival programs some people like bushcraft some people just like the outdoors this one to me well I don't follow all these two YouTube shows but they seem to be designated areas of different people are like different types of the outdoors this one is nothing like the others this is a huge base camp this one you could live in how many years you had it now might three three now I think three years these outside walls here are still tied up with the same try might use yeah three years later so it's plainly obvious you could survive in this situation so this is a a long-term survival camp okay okay long-term shelter yeah and from here you can use this as base lots of forest around because I can hear the foster II people working in essence you might hear noises yeah you know and stuff in the background you will because it's forestry condition in the forest if it's not in this land we're in a private section but requires a permission is not that not far away forest is round here occasionally they come and they cut it down you can hear machinery in the background I pick my teas once again guys I know this is stupid I don't have water in I've now got boiling tea and I've forgotten to take the teabag out so this could be quite a strong cup of tea oh yes coffee it's notice the X builders tough man's fans that can squeeze a hot tea bag out ha cool really Oh hardcore what my military training today you can't be feeding well dad because you're wearing a green jumper and it's very unlikely I know I to get this is what said you can't go out with that red jumper somebody shoot you because you're was a bit going shooting honey she said you can't come out like that you got to put green on or thought hang on when I went shooting in America and I went out there everything get put was orange at our locker orange coat on so other people didn't shoot you over here we didn't have to use all in jover here because like deer hunting i don't know it's guys tell us in the UK we don't know we don't have huge seven oh six seven oh eight three oh three zero never hear that Leah my cues from one seven seven one four seven seven nine seven seven arrow whoever fun with it

tell us camouflage you want to be blended in I mean when they go on those big pheasant shoots I've been Scotland where there's all beats and people driving out the birds I don't see him standing there with noise jacket do they know it's olive green what if those ever shot each other kissing and a drain the other aid off so it cooks underneath not all about looking immaculate it but it's not about looks when you're only outdoors this is this is very similar to the man that made and painted those tags yeah yeah yeah the artwork the artwork and the culinary care taken is very very similar to the man that did that artwork making roast models how can you not know that one look like a rabbit there is a big given surface it is a good fear is even starting to resemble food thoughts my compliments to the show yeah all guys don't even bought little tub of ketchup and with mmm the good old blue plates the bushcraft blue and so now I'm going alright carp fishing on my own mites going to be editing probably all night as well this video yeah you'd be doing this video yeah I've got to go and do it all straight from this turnaround load up and go out again so unfortunately I'm eating with a piece of wood and a child's dagger because I forgot all my other plates and stuff got the blue place you'll tend it blue plates yeah but the rest is already loaded on my other car ready for going straight out after this stay alright and I hope I catch what sort of fish can you catch this time of year see see Britain first and then a bit freshwater in America now over here what just so they know what species they can see what species do we catch over here well Oh in the summer it's our summer so given the weather so forget we have a maritime climate here so we get wind rain wind rain wind Raider no bit Sun mostly wind of rain look we do get some decent weather it be you've got to be able to capitalize on that and our fishing gets harder and harder I feel after 50 years doing it it's getting tough for even freshwater we have a big problem over here Oh dental with you guys go to other countries where they relocate otters now otters are a predator that lives in the river as you all know what otters are and they are eating the bejesus out of all our fish the problem beam all these people that go out so release all the otters really offer free the otters and let them turn their natural environment unfortunately they're covered by you can't protect it you can't hunt them you can't coal them as it were you can't control them effectively you can't control them and they breathe so they breed and they I think they've done this the wolves is it either it's North America Canada you guys tell us and obviously if you have a High Line predator and there is no upper predator to control that are you humans they're going to get out control yeah so a lot of our very big fish especially in rivers because he otters use the rivers like a sort of runway up and down the roadway they're decimating it look don't cost me go online look on Forbes is definitely there it's not me having a gripe I'm just telling it the way it is have you guys got the same problems with similar species in your countries the mackerel have been really packed here the last five years I tell you I've released macros like the prophecies global species but over here usually our summer time is peak time for mackerel but they come in way you've Sony we've had last year we saw a big huge shoulder them down in Weymouth and then suddenly just nothing for weeks yeah they're not constant yeah they're not only used to be a good beat yeah so Mac whose stocks are being affected quite a bit so we are bringing back the theory time for those that watched us we only pull this out about six months ago where we came to this camp and we do a cook up we do anything outdoors whatever fishing and bring a fish back and cook or present and things like that and at the end of it we would do what's called theory time which is where we come up with some theory sometimes quite off-the-wall and wacky sometimes not sneezing with a mouthful of scallops Craig is not good for the guy certainly opposite it's even better what's the source a resistor source but I'm okay now it's all about oh yeah yeah so we we go out come up with a theory and we want you guys to comment your opinions on the theory in the comment section below yeah so there's loads we've done in the past about the primitive man and things like that but this one is actually more of a modern dating in the future and actually just came from Amy my fiancee who the other day said what do you reckon will happen we're obviously humans are breeding a rapid rate and you know population is just increasing endlessly fast rate it's uncontrollable we cannot control I'm sorry we cannot control at the moment it's almost too far gone but what we are saying is obviously people were looking they want to live my ideal place personally would be out in the countryside you know away from thousand cities I know not everyone could do that I live in a town but in an ideal world we'd all love to live in our own bit of private land wouldn't leave yeah but it unfortunate it's not that way but we're that free space that Greenland eat brownfield sites greenfield sites are all being built on at the moment we're running out of wilderness and my theory is what do you think will happen I personally think that Africa place it you know even like the hottest parts of Africa will end up being the most sought-after places to live in the world because it will be the last of the wilderness that you can get where people haven't built houses so they're migrating from the wilderness to us we're saying yeah yeah they're coming other country yeah and I just think we're swamping because the cities are just spreading like you know they're spreading and spreading and spreading out

the countryside is going a going game so eventually it's going to happen globally I know it's a bit more difficult on mountains and winter nap I genuinely think places like Africa and up in the mountains are going to be like the last places where you can get true wilderness which is kind of sad really yeah maybe it's go full circle there all the people were migrated from Africa let's say to you of our country winner I think wow it's nice to live there you know it's a gravy train of life yeah then they find out actually it's not and we go there's too many people in that country I'm going to move to the middle of Africa is quite vacantly now don't know could Indian 15 let us know you're forgiven that's arthanari time question for this one what do you think about that
