welcome to ta outdoors and I'm at my kind of new bushcraft spot with little Jax about Jax here this today and this is just a day trip but actually I've just set up my top and hammock because I did say in the previous video that this would be a spot that I'd be coming back to possibly quite regularly so I just thought would be good to come set up the top set of there I just thought I would come down to set up the top and the hammock just to get an idea the parameters of the area and you know just make it a bit easier for next time when I come because often I'll come sort of you know because I'm editing in the day I'll come just towards the evening and I need to maximize the time I have to be able to set up I don't want to be setting up in the dark ideally so because we're here in the winter now coming into late autumn coming into early winter I need to be able to set up everything relatively quickly if I'm coming here for say 3:00 3:30 and I've only got probably half an hour 40 minutes of of light so I just thought I'd come here earlier today this is an unknown in the morning before lunch time just to get just a scout out the area that I've got here set everything up and just relax for a bit I bought I'm not gonna have a proper fire today because I'm only gonna be here for a short amount of time but meant to be fishing later doing some beach fishing I probably set up the small little fire box that I've got and just get that going

it'd probably be easier really and then I've got a lot less to clear up because it's got its own little ashtray and it tends to burn all the wood right through down to ash so it's a lot easier to clear up and I don't have to worry about using loads of water to put it out things like that so probably far out the firebox in a minute perhaps because I'm covered with some pine trees and spruce trees maybe some pine needle tea Jack's is busy here and then you can see him he's busy cheering away on one of his shoes that I've got for in their coat on now cuz he's only five months old so he gets pretty cold quite quickly hence also why I'm only coming here in the morning because I don't want him to get too cold but the setup is looking good I'll just show you so this is the current set up in new camp spot got the big chair silver birch over there and another tree just here and actually my setup is ass inspired by Mike over at mcq bush Graff with a few additions but is if you check out his video I think it's called tarpon hammock quick deployment or quick tarp deployment he's got some awesome videos out there on how to set up your hammock and tarp quite quickly I've still got to adjust this side to make the hammock level but again this is what I was just getting used to here but I've got to loosen that side there tight now put that side there just to get the hammock dead under the top this is where Jax tends to run away yeah yeah he comes here he comes here we I was closed for an hour

look at your dress looking yes he doesn't like this cakes he looks like a girl dog girly dog there's Jax's little dress look at it yeah he's off exploit so inspired by Mike's video I did did tie on some extra long paracord but I've also still got the this came at the tarp it's a DD 3x3 tarp I've still got the toggle there which means I can adjust the tension of the tarp there is the ninja chat rustle scavenger so you got to watch him so I'd also like to give a few shout outs to some YouTube channels that I've been following along the way and it's been very entertaining watching them and so I just thought I'd pass on to you guys also just past the 30,000 subscriber mark which is a incredible so thank you very very much to everyone who subscribed ta outdoors we're gonna continue to grow it myself and little Jax and my dad and hopefully you know one day maybe got up to a hundred thousand that'd be amazing but thank you very much for your support so channel shoutouts I'd like to give a shout out to Jo Robinette bushcraft he's based over in Canada I believe he is hilarious but he also makes he does so many overnighters and he makes you feel very relaxed in his videos he's a very laid-back he's very genuine great sense of humor

I like also his dog Scout is really cool dog and I like the fact he takes his dog along with him because I can relate to that now that I've got little Jack's here but Joe's doing really well I think he's about to pass 100,000 subscribers so Congrats Joe keep making those videos they're really really good very inspiring so thank you very much for those other YouTube channels scrambled oh dude you are hilarious if you guys ever subscribe and you want someone so if you want to watch some funny outdoor YouTube videos check out scram bro possibly the best intro youtuber ever he has a hilarious intro which is great and very unique to him so shout out to scrambled oh really cool videos man keep them coming

Zed from zero outdoors based over here in the UK again incredibly laid-back nice guy he also gave me a shot on his channel what a few months ago so I'd like to thank him for that and give him another shout-out back I believe Zed she just passed the 30,000 subscriber mark so congrats man hope you Channel clinking continues to grow but get some really informative videos out there and he speaks to some really good experts and get some knowledge and he passes it on so again incredible work keep it up possibly the best most knowledgeable bushcraft out there has to be mcq bushcraft Mike I'm seeking fresh girl he makes some incredible videos and I've been in I've been inspired personally from Mike for loads of the stuff he's done he's been a big inspiration for me and actually starting up the channel and he inspires confidence in getting in the outdoors he has a wealth of knowledge and a really good video production so Mike over mcq bushcraft thanks for everything you do man he did a great job keep it up it's really really good watching your videos I always learn something watching my videos and he is so laid-back he's so laid back if you watch his videos before you go to bed you definitely get a good night's sleep so laid-back really chilled but gets his information across really really well so thanks might keep those videos coming I always look forward to your uploads and my email INBOX

unfortunately they're not often enough but I know he spent a lot of time making some quality videos and his recent series over in Sweden where he did with his wife Meg over in Sweden was awesome he made some really really good videos over there and I can relate to those because I've been over to Sweden and it's stunning over there it's really good proper wilderness you know compared to here but really really good stuff so those of you guys out there who are making those videos that I follow at the moment thank you very much keep them coming it's very entertaining it's very inspiring and hopefully you watch my videos I don't know if you guys do I know a few of you do but hopefully if you watch the videos you are enjoying them and let's get some pointy detail [Music]

using a bit of birch bark because highly resinous very accessible from around here got this off a dead one you can see by the red resin content in it there just under the surface there of the bark there's actually lots of resin and it burns very very well and damp and wet conditions which the ground here is very damp so opting for this method today tend to only use a few different fire lighting methods but I quite prefer just in a bit birch bark and then there we go so I like these bits first I've kept that bit of birch but for later this woods quite damper as you can see from the black smoke hopefully that should get going tears boiling

Jax is cheering me cheering buddy sniffing around scavenging okay she's definitely boiling now I'd say boom pine-needle tea is ready well cheers guys pine needle tea is tasting lovely temperatures actually warming up which is quite nice and the firebox is burnt out really quickly so I've got you know plenty of time to pack away I don't have to worry about the fire being too hot and having to use loads of water to put it out I know it's a bit strange having a hammock up with the top in the day when it's not raining but like I say it was just a recce really just of the area to set it all up ready for when I do have an overnighter which is Kok gonna happen soon those of you who watch the bushcraft camp update series I'm doing an overnighter there in a few days so keep an eye out for that video that's coming up Jax probably won't come with me for that one because it's going to be too cold over these winter months for him to be out all night but I'm sure next year when he's a year older it had grown a bit more thicker fur and it'll be much more Hardy then but at the moment is just the wimpy little puppy but just like to say thank you very much for watching the videos and keep watching them hit the subscribe button like if you enjoyed the video or feel free to leave a comment if you have any feedback and to everyone out there who's watching in all the countries across the world which is so sleepy so sleepy

you
