hey guys do today this would March man's outdoors today we're going to show you how to lay out a wool blanket and wrap up in it the right way to stay warm and one time we're gonna get this unrolled and put in a diamond formation it'll be right back don't go away okay guys so we got our blanket spread out in a diamond configuration right now and I'm sitting not in the middle pretty much up forward and I'm going to be getting scooting back here in a second showing you what we'll be doing and the the mothers that are watching this video are gonna key in on this probably but just grab the corner of the blankie right here kind of scoot back a little bit and bring this into your feet just like this okay then bring it under your feet okay scoot back a little bit if you don't have enough slack I don't want no slacking this right now bring this back just your feet this blanket is plenty long and then reach in there and find that corner piece and pull it up and then wrap that around your feet again so now I have two layers of wool rocking my feet that extend your legs and push against the blanket and the back up a little bit so now there's air space in my foot box that i just created so now we have to make a decision now we have to say where's my fire because where the fire is depends on how I wrap my blanket the next way let's go ahead and say that right here is my fire that I'm going to be lighting so what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull this area up first so what I do grab that in and suck all that exit excess around my feet then shove that arethe my leg then lay back wrap that around me now the key to this is what a lot of people do I've seen on YouTube even as they get this day just tight as again around their body you actually want to Walt it so it's pretty loose around your body see how loose that is just like theory with my wool blanket shirt I don't want that thing skin tight to me I want it pretty loose so now what I'm going to do is I'm going to roll over I'm gonna start tucking that in behind me so now I have another layer of wool on my back then I'm gonna roll it over still pretty loose on me I'm going to grab my other layer and I'm going to fold that over I'm going to put that on top me now when I was talking about the mother is going to keep you on this is because it's pretty much just like swaddle your baby that's pretty much the idea of this now grab our top and pull it up you go have a hard time here you but I'm going to pull this over my head and I'm going to get situated in here with my arms pulled everything up to where it's around my chin now i just have a little space to breathe in and that's it there you go guys that's how I wrap up in a wool blanket or night's sleep even in cold weather and the good thing about this is you have this flap right here when you're fired each ticket to all you have to do roll over tend to your fire throw things in your fire roll back over wrap up my gas no really good night get out of here all right guys this is just a really quick video about me showing you how I wrap up in a wool blanket and in camp to a stay warm at night and the reason why I did this video's because I've seen several on YouTube that I don't exactly agree with and I'm not gonna mention youtube if you get those things just absolutely two-by-four tight around you then you're here you don't have any hair in between the wool and your body and your body your body's radiation heats that air that's in between there so if you have that just absolutely tight you know you don't have that to heat up you have it just a little loose and you don't want the thing like gaping offer you so cold air can get in but you wanted a little lofty in there so your body can heat up the air that's trapped in between the wool which is an insulating area and your body so the question I know I'm going to get is why do I even mess with wool blankets why don't let us take an mms with me wherever I go this will blanket ways pretty much just as much as anyone messed us and what's proper shelter and the proper fire let me say that again with the proper shelter and the proper fire you can take these wool blankets pretty much down to the coldest temperatures that invest will go to peace and that's with a roar along fire from me unless I was on a super super shelter or something like that and then you know you're good to go for whatever temperatures you want you don't even need a nice bag I sleep on top of my wool blanket in a super shelter ninety percent of the time because they're just sickening hot sometimes me and my wife went out into friend of Mines land in Southeast Ohio and we made a super shelter had a nice fire farther and I took the temperature gauge that's in on my haversack inside of it NS that was 85 degrees and that's absolutely too hot for me and my wife she's cold-blooded animals so she was in love with the place but uh I like it to be around 65 70 degrees when i sleep especially if it's too hot I'm not cause like at versus an mms you know I'm mms one of the good things about it is I mean it's designed for the military and obviously you're not gonna have campfires underwear so I mean it's it's a non-fire dependent shelter all in at center you know I've taken I have pictures on my facebook to where I take and I'm on a snow drift and I just lay out one of those grabber heat sheet tarps and I further FMS down and I slept there all night long that's on my facebook you prior to dick to the pictures but if you're on my facebook you'll be able to find it and I was pretty warm the whole time my back was a little cool that's about it but I do like it a little bit colder so some people may not feel that's comfortable for them I will blanket you're going to be fire dependent when it goes down to temperatures in the 30s you know even in the 40s if you don't like the cold that much but um I can sit in front of a campfire with this you know mms you're not going to want to get near a fire you know one in burr from a fire will go right through your your baby sack and trust me I know of went through a couple oh no I can wrap all right I can wrap up around with this thing sit next to a fire chit-chats people you know I can use this for a shelter in itself I mean it shines water and i have videos about making match codes and close out of these things i can be able to do that with mms there's more versatility here i canna sleeping bag it's a sleeping bag it's pretty much all you're gonna do with it it's all its ever gonna be but will like it it's just so much more it's just a flat piece of fabric within those possibilities at that point and enduring incredibly warm this has been William Irish mass outdoors I hope you enjoy the video if you did I appreciate if you click Subscribe liking my video helps me a lot I appreciate all reviews comments to support hopefully we'll see you out the woods
