alright guys this is a dryad saddle this goes against kind of my methods and teaching but I make an exception for this one my way that I teach my students and my kids and anybody ever talk to you about wild edibles is if you see a mushroom in the wild just walk past it but you know if you if you know what you're doing and you devote a good part of your life to it you know mushrooms are something that can be a very good asset in the wild and this is one of those I once again this is dryad saddles you can see light tan oh shit look at their at it first one of the season Kyle come here I will show you what tick looks play buddy yeah that's a tick okay yeah that's the first one I've seen this season they're out this early you're gonna be bad bad bad this year what all right boys this is a dryads saddle never ever ever pick mushrooms unless you are one hundred percent short of what you got inferring that guys what you're looking at right now is wild violets and you can always tell that because well you know you can obviously you can see the have these heart-shaped leaves which are tooth but the main way is this I can get that in focus there has five petals they're not the same three on the bottom the bottom one the very last one usually have stripes on it they come in all kinds of different colors white yellow baby blue you know all kinds of different colors of violets this whole plant is edible that's another way to tell it right there almost reminds me of the way jewelweed flowers are touch me nots but these are violets alright well stay with me I'm going to show you a couple ways eating this alright guys i'm back um still got the violet here nice thames tastes great I mean it's like a a sweet honeysuckle taste did anybody I've ever eating the honeysuckle knows let me just great what I this flower is also able it's not as good as the stem I'll show you something we do don't go away alright i picked uh i don't know probably dozen or so maybe 18 19 oh we've got a cup of water on to boil here i am boiling this water cuz it came out of creek so I'm letting it get to a nice rolling boil

and if we were going to make a decoction I would put the violets in right now and just let them go let them boil in with the water but that's not what I want to do I just want to make an infusion right now so what I'm going to do is as soon as I'm sure that my water is disinfected I'm going to pull this off let it cool down just a little bit and I'm gonna throw these uh these violets in here all right just kind of macerate this up a little bit just get the revolt oils and stuff going from here fire song get some of these stems in here I'm just gonna let this deep for a while it's going to be an iced tea for me oh god dude you lost me here no all right let's give her a taste it's good so it's mild little corn clora for me but I mean not too bad can't really describe the taste I mean it's good mmm definitely good so hopefully you go out and woods and you'll try this appreciate all your views comments to support hopefully we'll see you out in the woods
