yeah we doing today guys thanks for viewing my YouTube channel and if you would please click Subscribe below and give me a couple likes - that'd be great all right how we doing today guys do a pretty short video today just about a quick discussion about wool blankets and and some wool blanket tricks that I know that they showed by certain people I had a discussion on my Facebook page about wool blankets that's kind of what has sparked this so the people that I was talking to I'll definitely tag you in this video on my Facebook and thanks for everybody else for tuning in all right so what we got here is just a regular 100% wool blanket and there was some discussions on how to wear this if you're not packing it can I can I just drape around me and walk around I was talking about wearing as a cloak wearing as a match coat and that's what we're going to show you how to do today we're going to start out by just putting it on as a cloak which is very easy what we're going to do is find the long end of the blanket and then step back get more in frame and then we're going to throw that around us then what I like to do is like to drape it over me find the middle basically and then drape it over my head until it touches my chin and that's will mark my hood so then you can hey gingy right here you don't have to have these but this is a blanket pen this is actually purchased at the Pathfinder school like I said before anything in my kit has to be multi-use and this is also a steel striker so it's also an awl or what I use the big splinters out of me or whatever so many uses to this just very convenient

so anyways step back here and you don't have to have a blanket pin but it certainly does make life a little bit easier you can do this with just a regular stick toggle and it'll work so again let's take it over our head and measure out our hood that's where it touches our chin and then right on our collar we're going to put the pin in and then we'll take the hood off you'll be able to hear me a little better than okay so there you have it that's just a basic cloak setup and actually what you can do to a buddy of mine Sean Mulhall showing me this you just find these two corners here and make sure everything's on the outside then you can just tie this part up to you just kind of double up the insulation that's around your waist and the back you go back to your spine the base your spot where a lot of your heat loss is is right on the back of your spine and then you can wrap up in it walk around nothing's going to drag gets really cold you can put your hood up right back up in it and there you go now the same basic principle goes for what's called a match coat and really we don't even need to take the blanket pin on I think I can do it with that like I said these blanket pins make life a little bit easier and obviously you've seen how multi-use mine was so to me it's worth having you don't need to have a blanket pin I've seen people poke two holes in their blanket put a carabiner through it now they just have two very small holes on either side where they make their match coat so to me that's not a big deal so there's the cloak cloak style which isn't bad not to be a good deal very easy to do if you want to you can wrap up even tighter but we'll show you now is what's called a match cup okay so I wear two belts I wear an outer belt and then I wear a belt to actually hold my pants up and I wear an outer belt just to hold all my tools so it's quick on quick off if I need to access them for any certain reason so right now to make the actual match coat what we're going to do is we're going to take and wrap the blanket around us and stuff it up underneath of our arms and then pull this side over and get our other arm out of it kind of looks awkward but once this together it's very very easy to move in but just getting them together it's a hard bar okay so we're going to wrap our belt around us you'll see in a lot of videos people use you know like hump lines and other stuff like that for it I mean that's great but uh I just use my outer bill for this that's what it's made for better way my tools wrong as well get it kind of really tight and what I like to do is put it on put your hands up and pull the blanket up so your hood conforms better then and there you go very warm if I want to just throw my arms out I got my arms so I can do whatever I want to do start a fire add more wood to a fire if I want I can just throw my hood down wrap up it's very warm alright thanks for joining me on this little video quick tip about how to wear your blanket as a match coat or a cloak it trust me to keep you very warm at night especially if it's a thick one or so well thanks for getting one I appreciate all reviews comments and sport hopefully we'll see you out in the woods
