you

all right guys what we're going to do today is when talk about a parasitical fungus called chaudry or tinder fungus this is true Shangri tinder fungus this is a parasitical fungus or mushroom if you will that grows primarily on birch trees in the northern most parts of the United States so sorry everyone in central Ohio this actually does not grow here if you're up north say you know northern Michigan upstate New York stuff like that the silver birch bark now it primarily grows on that but it will choose other trees as a host but like i said it primarily grows on virgin birth birch trees excuse me up north and wherever the tree may get a wound or something like that this will grow is actually something that can be collected year-round even though it is a mushroom it actually has a long life span four or five I've even read that it can go up to seven years before it actually kills the tree but we can harvest these and you can chop this up put it in your pack put it next to a fire dry it out these have great has absolute plethora of juices from fire to medicinal we're actually going to start a fire with this several different ways today we're going to show you more than one way to start a fire with chocolate and we're actually going to cook up a medicinal so don't go away alright guys so the first method that we're going to show you here today to get in the ember from chaga is just regular old ferrocene IAM rod takes a spark from Fira seem very well may not take it the first strike might not get that lucky but it will take a sport pretty quickly

alright guys we got amber going right now now one of the only way is to get this out is to cut it out so we got to cut all of the ember out and if you're going to start a fire you'd have to do this anyway you have to cut the embers out we actually got amber over here that we didn't mean to have like I said the stuff goes up pretty quick just make sure nope we still got so here Wow don't get all this the stuff will just continue to smolder and smolder till you don't have another a piece of chalk work real hard get all that cut out now obviously before you put this back in your bag you're going to want to have it all put out obviously just make sure we have all that put out all right now next way we're going to actually get amber from this is we're going to use the Sun we're going to use solar mission and chaga is a very very very fast tender for solar ignition I mean this stuff goes up super super super quick

welcome

what I like to do is like to start at a center point and then kind of work my way around that point get an ember get decent size m / right random where over there great there you have it is amber solar ignition we'll go ahead and blow up first nest life here by cutting this out there you have it yep all right guys one more way we use chagas if you're taking any of it apart your sectioning off using like maybe a vaca or a salt from your multi tool you're gonna have those that dust from the chaga itself that stuff is awesome and a fire piston and what I'll do is I'll take that and I'll put it in a any kind of a film canister canister or this is actually the canister for diabetes test kit strips make some pretty good containers but I'll put it in there and go ahead and demonstrate for you will take this off here see in there that's all chaga sawdust mostly from my multi-tool saw go and get an ice pack on so that's what we're left with that fast

that easy chaga is one of the most useful things that I keep in my bag and it has way more than three so if it doesn't have at least three uses doesn't go on my back so thank you very much get back to you got the mushroom it is a mushroom yes sweet it grows on a tree all right boys this is a little item that I picked up from the Pathfinder school one mini area right now it doesn't allow fires so I want a hot beverage of any kind I pull this thing out here it is a neat little item that allows you to heat up water what have you even cook with without building a fire all right what will not do today we're actually going to make a tea out of this chaga this there is a laundry list of things that Chavez get for but distantly that I'm going to leave it up to you to read and research about yourselves excuse me one of the reasons why i use it is it actually it helps maintain blood sugar levels and actually is very well at doing that but a way i like doing it is we'll just take a chunk of it like this and we just drop it in hot water and that's going to soak up the water you know it'll steep without that steep for a little while we are not going to boil this water because actually boiling the water will kill some of the vitamins and minerals that we're trying to extract right now we're just going to make an infusion stick around all right guys I don't know exactly how well are you going to be able to see that but that is pretty much close to dime like I said we don't want to boil that because it'll kill some of the vitamins and minerals that we're actually trying to extract to use to our advantage so we're going to pull that off of the stove there and we're going to drink some all right guys well one of the benefits of doing it this way and not make it into a fine powder is I mean all you have to do is kind they're fish that big old chunk to chart out and this can be used over and over and over and over again chaga is very dense and it could be infused many many times so we're actually going to save this when you use it for later alright so we're going to give her a taste here it's really good that's not bad at all has kind of a woodsy aftertaste to it really good though this the first time we've actually tasted it without something in it like honey or splenda stuff like that i usually always sweetened it that's actually really good without any of that stuff in it it's kind of hard to explain the taste to it oh yeah there we go hope you uh you if you live up north hopefully you find this you guys order it online there's places and people out there they'll send it to you I actually get it from one person his name is art Bennett yeah if he is watching us appreciate it up thanks for your comments use a sport see on the woods
