Quick Cold Weather Shelter

Come along with me on my 2 day outing in the cold. I show the shelter that i slept in and how it was built. this shelter went up quick and was very warm in front of the fire as this is a fire dependent shelter the temps at night were in the low 20's to high teens

hey guys doing this William are some ass outdoors built a really cool shelter and i want to show you how we built it so stick around alright so i wanted to combine you know some some modern materials plus some primitive skills and you know this is something that should be and everyone's kit is a silver five by seven mile our tarp grabber he cheats RP like many names all leather blanket yeah all Smith's all-weather space blanket reusable space playing as they go by many names but what I did was I just put this up in a lean-to fashion and basically the ideal of this is you could throw this up really quickly and then instead of like building a huge primitive shelter that takes hours and hours these little 45-degree things that we made here on the end only took about an hour and a half you know other than rather than four or five six hour you know debris shelter bill then we just put a really nice debris bed on the inside it was really comfortable but what this does if I Chris can follow me here on the backside here today I got some gear kind of thrown a battle on the side there what that does on the side is it traps the heat in from the long fire and I had it pretty much to my the fire for my ankles to about my around my head so I had a nice long fire going but the size are going to eat that that fire trapped in so if you just threw up a regular link to your going to have heat escaping from the sides plus you're going to have convicted breezes coming in side to side plus what we did was we built up although its kind of falling down a debris bed on the backside the wind from sucking in underneath and getting my back goal and then we do the same with the side over here so if you kind of get this down you can see how quickly this was built I mean here I just threw a 45 up and then it started raking leaves with a primitive break just a stick that has some ends on it and gathered all these leaves up just to block two things I don't want the cold air coming in I know what the hot air going out so just built it up make sure it overlapped by tarp so everything was sealed up pretty good with debris you know if it rained obviously I was underneath the tarp so I didn't have to build some big elaborate debris shelter this is something that should be in everyone's kit and if I you know cop combined this with you know plastic drop tarp or something like that I probably wouldn't be alive today but it's so hot in there y'all's with you but you know that is just an option to keep you guys really warm and the extreme cold is you know having a grabber he cheat tarp and then a painter start you know your options are limitless then you're going to stay warm in the chorus environments at that point you know and that's something it doesn't take very long to put the stuff together you know primitive skills are awesome i love primitive skills primitive skills should be something that uh you know if you're absolutely down to doing it you're in trouble so I mean it's good to practice it's good to know but it's good to be prepared as well with things that you can quickly do all right guys we just wanted to show you this really quick sheltering tip show you how it was built you know went up very quickly something that kept me really warm I mean and when I first got in there it was almost obscene very warm that is almost like hiding from the fire at some point and then you know the fire calm down i adjusted it moved it back a little bit you know figured out though the where I wanted the fire and I slept awesome last night the brie bed was really comfortable all right well it's been William Irish mass outdoors hope you enjoyed the video and if you did appreciate if you click subscribe down below liking my videos help me and my channel out a lot appreciate all reviews comments to support hopefully we'll see how the woods hey guys doing this William R smash outdoors today we're okay three two one are you still there did you run off did you go away did you go through me oh wait a minute I got stuff to do I gotta catch you all right okay yeah we'll start out start out alright well just wanted to give you guys this quick sheltering tip I want to show you guys how it was built it went up like I said very very quickly ah 32 there you go rob somebody now three two one
