hey guys how you doing this way Myers back out here with my son Connor he is going to be doing some Nets today we're actually gonna be weaving net with the net needle and an egg gauge and that's what we're going to be showing you guys today actually this video is showing you the tools that we're going to be using and in the next video we're going to go through leaving techniques and he's going to be learning along with you guys so stay tuned alright so in the previous video I'll go ahead and leave the link to that like right around here somewhere a video did probably a couple years ago now I actually be honest with you we showed you guys how to hand tie nets just with basic knots you know and again that video will be like overwrap probably over here somewhere now what we're going to show you guys is how to weave nets with the net needle and a net gauge okay and you know if anybody that's seen the previous video that I literally just did was on the mini Aurora from park river knives and in there I kind of carve a real quick and that needle and I liked it it was okay but I just sat at the house and took my time you know when you're on camera doing reviews us to look at you kind of want hurry but you know I said in my house and literally within a half hour you know kind of got this lot better in my mind and this is my neck gauge and the reason why I Carver like this one is I want enough up here enough purchase up here to be comfortable and be able to work on this surface up here plus it's long enough that I can put a couple loops on it if I want to and then slide out and I'll have a row move on etc you might not know what I'm talking about right now but just stay tuned we're getting to that part so the reason why I do it like this is because again i want all my tools to do many things you know this net needle it is also you know of cordage carrier

you know cetera et cetera this net gage whoa if I don't drop it i'm going to show you all right so the net gage I built it this way because one it could kind of double as a measuring device you know not just for nets for other things as well I put a one inch mark up here and we put a one inch mark graduation here now the gauge itself again is in one inch graduations so you know one inch one inch one inch all right how wide it is is one and a half inches and there's a reason for this you know once i get to work i'm going to be making one and a half inch loops which means times that by two when you make it a three inch loop a three inch hole in my net basically my holes for my net will be four inches wide so if I'm making a one and a half inch loop the second time around is making the hole for my net and that's going to be three inches and one reason why that is is because of your net needle is going to dictate that ok so that's about right that's actually scary small it's it's pretty much perfect right there your net needle cannot be bigger than your net gauge in fact your net gauge needs to be almost double the size of your net needle and that's pushing it that's pushing it but I wanted a one inch one and a half inch hole for what I'm sorry I wanted a one and a half inch loop to create a three inch hole and so this is what we come up with

and the reason why this is rounded over here it's just simply for comfort for comfort for working because I'm gonna be working with this thing to make a good six seven foot 9 foot gill net or something like that you're going to be working pretty much all day tying knots you don't want this big sharp square corner dig it in to you all day long doesn't sound like that big of a deal does it it really is it does make a difference you know just think digging in your freaking pinky all day long etc etc you know it doesn't really sound like that big of a deal but it really is it makes all the difference in the world just for comfort just to have it round it off right here alright guys the last thing we're going to be using today is a roll of number nine bank line all right need to see why this stuff is is so useful on me there is I can't I can't even tell you how many linear but it is I have to look it up I get this stuff from Memphis net entwine you can also pick this up from my amazon store at www is outdoors LLC com for /aa and this will be in there I have 3672 and number nine in number 12 of the leaf in the shop right now along with some paracord and blah blah blah so you know if you guys want to pick it up through me thanks appreciate it help support me in the channel so we're going to be using some number nine bank line and we're also going to be using some number 72 bank line I'll get that right now alright guys so this is the number 72 right here I love this stuff and I pack this stuff because one it's pretty much like a buddy of mine Jimmy burly told me once the stuff is like pretty much instant bowstring and he's correct you know you just string this up most arrows just knock right up to it you know like number 36 or something like that you're going to have to do some you know some twists around the court itself to actually make the aeronaut but that's beside the point this number 72 is also good because once you start spinning this to break it down it's basically just three pieces of number 36 so it's very useful more useful than just regular cordage because it has so many versatile uses that helps you cheat time basically it's except if you're if you're talking about you know break it down for for blister cordage because then it does take a little bit of time to do that but this is number 72 and this is number 9 so you can see the difference there so really big difference there and what the 72 is going to be is our head rope and our tow rope so you've got two ropes head rope and a tow rope and then you're Nick you build your net in between alright so what we're going to be doing is we're going to be attaching a head rope and then building the net around the head rub some people like to build the net you know just weave the net and then attach it to a head rope and then a tow rope I don't do that I I do it to where I'm attaching to a head rope pretty much the entire time and then I flip it and then attach it to my showroom sorry guys so this is basically the tools that we're going to be using to build the net you know we got number 72 Bank long number 9 bank line we have a net gauge you know as said before this can also double as you know improvised rule or just give you a basic you know three four inch measurement can also be a measure yeah used to measure sorry you also be used to measure on the front end as well

and in that Neil itself these are very easy to load i'll be showing that in the next video these you know guys these net gauges in these net needles both of them can be purchased so if you don't think that you're going to be able to carve one of these out yourself you don't really have to they are sold in a variety of different shapes and sizes and they are very inexpensive these do not cost very much at all so you know don't get discouraged if you don't think you're gonna be able to carve one of these you know heck you know a net gage could be anything from a roller an old ruler that you don't want anymore a wooden one carve it down on the side so it's more comfortable there you go you're off you know and like I said these can be purchased and I'm going to leave some links it's where they can be purchased and hopefully by the time this video airs I'll have a bunch of these net needles and net gauges in the Amazon store at manas outdoors LLC com we just like to my girls yeah yeah we like to make her own huh that's okay though you don't have to make one you you can just buy it okay buddy alright guys this just been a really quick video showing you the tools that we're going to be using the next video you know just get you familiar with what they are what they do and in the next video we're actually going to be showing you putting these tools to use and what they can make so I hope you guys enjoyed this video and we'll see out in the woods
