hey hi guys doing this is William Irish mass outdoors and today we've got a very special video review of a knife for you today that pretty much a lot of you have already been waiting for it is the dark timber bushcrafter and this is one of the most beautiful and workable knives that I think I've ever had this knife is amazing to me it just fits my style of bushcraft in the way that I use a knife pretty much perfectly and to what Pete said Pete said that he watched you know a lot of my videos and things and he pretty much designed to handle that way you know looked at some of the techniques that I use like reverse grip you see that that is absolutely perfect and there is a reverse grip you know it's something like knee braces and things like that knee locks you know he designed this tool for bushcrafting for outdoor use it's absolutely razor-sharp sort of like a flat VEX very good for a small detail the way that the clip point comes in it's almost like a spear point but the way that it comes in it's very unique for power assist for small carving tasks and things like that you know for utilizing all the knife including that point that is extremely useful for getting into tight places doing what I need it to do for the smaller stuff the finer stuff you know scorpion out bowls and things like that this would be absolutely perfect for it's just the way that it was designed it I'm able to cock the knife back behind my thumb and safely use it in tight spots do things like score V notches etc etc the entire blade slices amazingly it's a heck of a slicer you don't be careful with this knife it'll haul wood on you and you'll it'll get away from you it's that sharp and if you're just fine in this video and you're not familiar with it I mean this is a hand-forged knife yeah those aren't like for my hydraulic you know forger for a hydraulic press or anything we got these our hammer marks this is a handmade knife yes that handle is absolutely beautiful spalted California Buckeye stabilized grips that's just nothing else like that on the market today it's absolutely beautiful functional piece of artwork that I'm in love with I love this knife all right guys so you've seen some of the finer tasks with that edge I've had this knife for quite a while you know using it religiously on a regular basis so I know how the knife handles it's not like it was Justin to me and I'm just now got it out of the box and using it but let's show some of the more harder tests in the woods like it's on and through some of the season to Hickory I had some hard drives off his man power through I'm gonna put a wedge in it I mean that piece of wood right oh yeah that's a long piece dude some of the toughest what I've ever did through yep you got through it that's pretty extreme test of this knife now I come out you're doing that all the time edge is still right on you know like I said I've been using this knife for about almost two months now so you know I could sit here and show you all kinds of other things with the knife but I think I'm gonna save that for pretty much future videos you're gonna see this knife on my hip very often so you're gonna see exactly what this knife is capable of throughout the rest of my videos I wanted to talk about some of the specs of the knife it's actually just under a six-inch knife which when Pete told me that he was making it that long

I was kind of a little bit nervous because you know that's that's pretty long knife for me my style of knives is anywhere from four to five inches five and a half inches you know you're getting up there it can be a little unwieldy for some other knife makers this is perfectly balanced like I said that tip is is rocker just right for me I'm loving it as far as that goes it's a 3/16 spine which is bloody sharp there too I think I have any problems with a Ferro rod you know but that handle is one of the best things about this knife I mean that's just crazy and not just the fact that it's it's California Buckeye it's the way that it's made it's absolutely comfortable one of the most comfortable scripts I've ever had and all the positions that I would use this knife to awesomely made knife so not only is the knife awesome but the sheath is one of the best I've ever owned - this is from Doug Wilson at yellow hawk and you know it's dirty but use it as you know he could prove that it's being used if that dirty ain't been using it right but some of the options that he has on here is just absolutely phenomenal you know you can set this up pretty much however you want to he gave me even another option for the feral rod it's got a half-hitch Ferro rod holder on it you know the retention of the knife itself it's not coming in on there guys there's no way it's very easy just to very lightly use the thumb rocker and pull the knife out or if it's attached it just comes out very easily you know when it came to me it had a little bit longer of a belt loop for and Doug said that he does that for you know our our hoodies you know the West River bushcraft hoodies that we wear look at so that could be on our belt and hang below the hoodie I kind of trimmed mine up a little bit because for me if I ever wear that hoodie and I need a knife I usually just put that around my waist over the hoodie and then hang my knife from there but that's an awesome option that he just has for somebody the knife itself has a plate back here I attached one of these tech locks to so I can go directly around my belt or I have the dangler option it's just the most awesome sheets I've ever had knife and sheath combo couldn't be happier
