Cabin Life: Snow at the Off Grid Pallet Wood Cabin - Unboxing Mail

Description

We wanted to experience Cabin Life in the Snow. So we head to the Off Grid Pallet Wood Cabin in Winter, which had a recent snow storm with blizzard and ice rain that came in from Siberia. We get the woodstove going, make some tea and light the candles for some hygge!

We open up some subscriber mail sent from you guys, thank you so much to those who sent us stuff.

This Off Grid Tiny Home was built using recycled Pallet Wood. It has been a great wilderness project which I have been doing with my Dad. It's only small, and can sleep one person. It has a woodstove, raised bed, folding table, book case, sink and wash area, front porch and small log store. It may not look like a Log Cabin, but for us it was the building part that meant the most. We used a mixture of hand tools and power tools, but our main aim was to try and save money and build the cabin for free. Thanks for joining us on this winter snow day!

I mean they say Earl Grey is an ice tea Earl and I don't think you have that with milk and sugar but one of the best teas I've had used to be a Mauritius where I used to go marlin fishing there a lot and they make the tea to make vanilla tea over there yeah I've got so I blow some bat for your mum you did indeed and they make it with hot milk and I'll tell you what's really good hot milk yeah with hot milk never stir with a noise I know no saying I did stop that I know it stirs up family strife so superstitious

so does losing the teaspoon use the fork because I use that well camping well that's got pasture of frozen pasture no no I'm just saying that days old that all right Julia alright how do you think they discovered penicillin I was gonna say yeah

ah it's melting in this night we do pick up yeah we have a little thing we say how far can we ping a tea bag on the spoke it's a little father-son competition a competition we have it then we can pick them up oh it's boiling it is in the snow with a with a buckle there leather strap some cordage here what looks like a hip belt here that goes so it goes onto your head let's see what's in this this is really well made hot now got put my ears up like a dog so it's got a couple of beads there if you guys can see and that helps to decorative purposes oh this little light right there in canvas it's leather it's like suede and it's oh it's a pouch it's a special power Oh Sparky Sparky that's a Ferro rod my dad calls them Sparky Sparky's that is a really cool one that's an aunt the one to a finger trigger to it you can hold on to ya really like that amazing fireworks I am using that that is so cool to this that's incredible to say there we go in the light there's it what looks like the Maple Leaf Canada looks like the Maple Leaf

I'm gonna say this is lovely this is all leather and there's a another belt loop there just gonna open that so you can see it's on a a rivet yeah a little rivet and then oh I see then it folds out like that and I guess you can slide this out which reveals a tin chocolate yeah no charcoal is that it crumble little bits of charcoal I think and potentially char cloth I don't know going to read the letter you that is awesome says here cheers from East Coast fishing gaming camp love your channel hmm watch you all the time in fact I've watched many of your videos multiple times thank you very much that does mean a lot anyway I have my own channel called East Coast fishing game and camp go and check him out guys link in the video description he started doing leather work a few years ago hope you like what I sent you that's pretty impressive for a few years content in the bushcraft pouch are half a pig skin and cowhide all hand-stitched and handstands with my logo on the flap or fur no fire kit I call it the bushcraft survival necklace I see it's a necklace I'm just gonna see necklace is made of braided bank line that's really stripped there a strong cordage it breaks down to 16 feet of fishing line the clasp is sterling silver great attachment for fish the other side of the clasp is hand-carved antler this is here for a primitive hook on a minute there's all survival gear enlist somewhere that you can make a primitive hook out long oh I see so that was what was on about the antler and there's the clasp which is used for fishing Oh Eric's doing a lot of trouble combined Eric's taking a lot of time to make this we don't know unless it's the author like we had the Felix a time it's called edible wild plants and herbs a complete a compendium of recipes and remedies by Pamela Michael maybe it was sent to us by Pamela but I have to admit it's all wild food remedies and recipes remedies and recipes look they got Heather we get that over here all your well ground yet ground as elder thank you if that was you Pamela thank you very much if it was a subscriber thank you very much as well oh wow it's Ferrari so like Christmas every time we just check there's no note in there don't there's some copper pipes in no there candles I think they can do oh there is a note this is oh you know what guys I'm not gonna be able to unfold this but it is a massive massive furry like blanket or rug we will find out and it's so soft so soft there Mike hope you can make use of these gifts for you and your cabin love your channel great vlogs have inspired me to start my own channel Wesley J go go and check him out boys Wesley Diego in the pop a link in the video description below I've been on some adventures and later in the year have a cabin project on my own good be on it if you checked it out I will D keep up the good work from Wesley PS thought I'd send you a postcard for your wall yep it's going up there I've got to get the pin but that's going up paracord bracelet okay Oh huge thank you for all of your videos on both channels they've entertained me and my family for a few years now and there's a small gesture I've sent your gift enclosed with this letter is a survival bracelet which includes compass whistle firestarter yeah and of course the paracord is in May with we've really enjoyed the log cabin series you're currently doing and have inspired myself to build a workshop with my summoner garden he's tell grandma it's fishing videos are invaluable to us mainly because he is an all-round angler and covers many methods their treats for Jax and they say dear Michael Jackson up all your vids and I watched your cabin build with my dad and in the summer we are going to build a cabin like yours on my garden because I love the outdoors and hiking I also go out with my horse so it will be great to have my own cabin to camp on thanks so much Mike from lily thank you so much a good with Lily Thank You Lee good be the horses because when I was about eight to ten years old I bound horses a Shetland pony and used to go off riding two miles away on my own eight years old I mean it's not oh yeah to go out on my own seized my gran used to make a headdress out of pheasants cuz they shot pheasants night pheasants in those days and made a pig head restful Indian headdress like this and they used to make bows and arrows for me with points on them yes health and safety B was eight years old and feathers and the men in the stables used to whip the feathers on for me so what to do cut notches wait to fire these arrows everywhere and one day one went through grands kitchen window no lips and organic Oh Liberty you're not open that one face them away from this one they're little pendants they're like a pendant necklace yeah they can be motive that's dollars I guess yeah anyway they are really cool sometimes if they're too long the lettuce guys I will sort of skim read them but Linda's just saying here that she loves ta outdoors on YouTube here a couple of American coins I hand braided necklaces for him right in your cabin to guide and protect you through all your outdoor adventures best wishes to you and also your father please make that dear man a cup of tea next time he's at the cabin Sincerely Yours the city Linda thanks Linda take them down as a fisherman I'm superstitious and you just said it bring you good luck or something so definitely there's their tea bags if you leave tea bags right some cabins and camp in a long time they pull the moisture once you open them the tea leaf will call the moisture and they get sore a bitter taste about them there's a tip I'm a tea drinker so we've got some seeds don't hold these up we got to Martha sees tomato how's your city why just lukewarm you don't know this is from parcel for parcel has insufficient or incorrect stress ie a p o-- box we're currently holding a parcel at the depot for you this pass was due to be returned to the sender unless we hear from you within five working days that was on the 23rd so I'm not our guys sorry someone has sent me something and it's gone back to you and I'm so sorry we haven't returned it we haven't returned it the very castle force has returned it to you sorry so much guys if that got someone sent us something and it got sent back to you we apologize it's a legitimate mistake cuz I've just got a letter here you're still watching thank you so much hey Mike my name is Zach and I'm a ten year old boy from Arnold in Nottingham I love all your videos especially the cabin series one day when I'm older I wish to be as good as you at bushcraft because I'm really passionate about it but trust me I'm not that good at bushcraft really I'm still learning I'm a beginner really I know nothing about yeah I wish you I wish to be an explorer when I grow up and you have inspired me to learn and practice bushcraft look forward to more videos best wishes Zack Zack buddy that is a really professional letter pretend you're on the right track just go outside enjoy it you're gonna fail loads it doesn't matter everything's okay to fail isn't it's about failing and making mistakes

trust me for my age I've made plenty I just hope Mike doesn't make them do you know what the next generation of a fairly sure will they will won't they it's like a repetitive issue sir yeah well you were saying about your dad what do you said don't you say when he was really having a go at me about something oh no my dad was like this god is worth his waiver good you want then there's my dad

then there's nobody is my dog that's it hierarchy exactly your hierarchy you like my dad was out there and used to say just I put my hand in the fire don't mean to say you have to does it yeah it's a good good saying isn't it really so we got some chains here dad some clips gonna hold those up there's not one there there little work clips and chains and the letter did really good is from dear Mike and Graham I've sent you to change for you and one for your dad you could use them for holding traps in place or hanging things in the cabin from Jacob in Manchester PS the one slightly tarnished is from my rabbit hut I think it's this that's a rabbit's name I can't remember I cause I can't see what your rabbit's name is but thank you so much Jacob that is really cool I think we might use these for candle hangers you know first one is for a Montana and that's a really cool big sky country have you been to Montana yeah that's the first well we had a postcard

that's a Montell that's a really cool postcard you know it's a map of Montana so and it says hi Mike rollin through Montana rollin through Montana thought I would send you a wall decoration Lowell kept this one away from my puppy from Jose I think Jose thank you so much Jose Jose Jose that's going up here on the wall once I get the pins there's another one there the coaches the one that's awesome this one is from Kansas and it says Dorothy your ride is here

it's obviously the Wizard of Oz is that Kansas Mike

I bet the Earl wondering what happened to the Idaho postcard my dog ate your postcard I guess he wanted to give you a dog shoutout it doesn't say who it's from

but oh sure camera twister it is cool yeah thank you so much hey Mike I just love watching you and your dad build a pallet build the pallet wood cabin a great series picture of Boston Massachusetts USA don't read the last bit but it's from Dave Dave Boston Massachusetts shout out to everyone in Boston

I've never been - boss have you been to Boston as well on a fish cake card called largemouth bass of Cape Cod I caught me some bluefish too many beers years and too many beers well that's really cool thanks guys for the postcards they will be getting pinned up here along with my Zurich one I just didn't bring the pins with me guys thank you so much for all those incredible gifts it really doesn't mean to mean a lot to us we appreciate it's not the most thrilling and entertaining video but we feel it's important to be able to read out this mail from you guys because you've made the effort to write it and/or send us things that you've handmade so we feel we do it justice by reading it out and just you know trying to do as much as we can obviously if the mail gets even more it might be a little bit more difficult you may have to skim over the reading and things but we personally both read them all the way through if we haven't read out in the camera we do read it all the way through the huge thank you I mean it's incredible youngsters want to build a cabin in their garden so you can build a cabin in your garden yeah it could be any size you want to the pallet build yeah it's good do what you want you can access pallets yeah give it a go it's fun you know if it works great if it doesn't work does it matter

do you know your parents that's the thing it's all about the experience it all my camping things all my bushcraft overnight is everything like that doesn't matter as much as things go wrong because it's the experience that counts you know this there's a video I don't if it's gonna be up before or after this where I really do fire that's something pretty spectacularly and it doesn't matter because it's about the experience and it's all you learned from that experience

so hopefully that comes across in our videos and we said we close off the video with the sword and here it is is that a leather sheath like a leather metal I know I think it's wood scabbard with a metal capping could be silver at the top also and would have had a strap there to go what do you easiest weird because it's fat like here it's the same thickness here it is at the back there I can see some writing dad hold on can you guys focus on I'm just by warranty yeah Henry Wilkinson Pao Mau London and there's a crest there as well I quarry sianis life okay any other marks on it yes number that hold on four three four eight two three Oh on that on there on the top of the blade what's on the other side I mean it cost 42 pounds 30 yeah I think but no I don't understand it here it's flat that the blade doesn't start until the last sick that's really change to show them horizontally look how fat look that's just the same way that the front the back yeah there's no edge to it oh I say look if you just look there as a depression I'm running my finger up the depression if you did now it goes flat look happy in Hammond there that's smooth yeah way through there that is obviously no doubt a sharp the point sharp design for stabbing I would say definitely somebody cannot believe I just gone through the cabin roof look at that having only tapped it but that's what is it smooth there it's got that sort of scoop dish your face that we need to Alex we need is this and of course there has this hilt cover so somebody else's

driving a sword down here and it skids down if this wasn't here you have no fingers right yeah the fingers drop off you then drop the sword go I go you're done so that's what bad he'll be ten on a duck at the same time but that's why there's a bounce got that piece round there don't know Saudi people will be able to tell us what it is it's very very awesome lovely blade that eight years I think I bought it in 1973 at an auction if I can get it home without being arrested by the English police it is slightly over these three engine I'm a big we're allowed to have a fixed rate of three inches and that swing in there is three feet you guys tell us what you think if you cleaned it up that would be a great project that to clean up and the grip here look yeah this I don't know what this material is but that's metal braided metal whipping over that now figuring it's around hundred hundred fifty years old Wow I think it's a careful I think it's a cavalries it does look like one they stay bright on horses than that as you can see the snow is still coming down out which is brilliant until about what four days and then we think oh whatever yeah thanks so much for watching guys we really appreciate it don't forget to check out dad's YouTube channel called ta fishing I'll pop a link in the description to that one everything fishing related sea fishing fly-fishing coarse fishing shark fishing tips just hips on beginners if you're beginner yeah try and help beginners we're not interesting reading the experts no because they're experts they don't need anybody but you know for beginners all my guys don't work out catch one or two fish and really enjoy it you know that's what on there that's what I'm about thank you so much if you've been patient enough to watch this video all the way through really to appreciate it make sure you've ticked the Bell notifications well and we will see you soon back in the cabin you
