Her First Time at the Cabin: Woodstove Cooking (Off Grid Pallet Wood Cabin)

Description

I take my wife for her first time at the off grid pallet wood cabin. We also take our little dog Jaxx. We fire up the woodstove and cook mushrooms, sausages and egg on a beautiful autumn day in the woods. The leaves have changed colour and are starting to fall. We also get the kettle going over the fire pit and enjoy some fresh loose leaf tea. We finish off the episode with a theory time. Thanks for watching!

but we can shake lovely flavor they become roasted roasted flavor almost meaty sauce yeah the boy

give it you can give them something wasn't chewing it was it Bobby good boy welcome to another ta outdoors episode I'm here with my darling wife this is your first time here at the cabin isn't that yeah what are your thoughts come on and dad's expert skills that's pretty good isn't it give him that it's all pallet wood yeah so we're out in the woods we've come with Jack's we're risking him off the lead we don't really like having him off the lead so we've risked him off well we like having him off the lead which is not where there's loads of deer around and easy no last time you know well you guys know what happened last time he chased over there and I had to get up and leave the camera running and chase him around but yeah I thought we'd come with him and just cook up some food we had what are we having that dish sausages obviously an egg we had some oil was it Isis yes the mushrooms you might have realized a few couple of episodes ago I say a couple it's couple of months ago now back in summer I was at the bushcraft camp when I was drinking some loose-leaf tea and I threw out on to my Instagram about who wanted to what what name really you guys thought would be a good one for a tea and this is what we came up with so this is now out my own version of loose leaf tea how cool is that it's pretty cool and this is what the voting came up with for you guys it's called ta outdoors the woodsman's brew but it's now out so you head to the link in the description thanks very much if you do end up getting it if you don't absolutely no problem at all you've got anywhere they like it when it goes quiet in the woods with the dog around because it means he's gone yeah yeah yeah yeah boy yeah yo Luke mucho Paki also chasing Jack Skinner getting it back we're gonna do a theory time for those who don't remember Theory time I do usually do it with dad but I'm always gonna do it this is Mei just say

just the wife yeah the dragon we're gonna do this every time and it's when we come up with a crazy kind of theory not necessarily crazy and we'd love for you guys to give us your feedback in your opinion on it the theory today is gonna come from my wife Amy not for me what is the theory we talked about quite a lot of theory so via night time action there's night time usually what is your theory today em so theory today is the destruction caused by social media oh and internet I suppose you could spread it to you I mean it's endless really but in terms of social media I guess where to start I agree with you first that it is destroying society yeah and the younger generation because they're growing up with technology ingrained in them they've never seen a world without technology we were fortunate enough to just be on the edge of it yeah without any internet and very limited internet even in teenagers so I mean yeah my parents didn't get it until quite late really 2015 yeah I think I was pretty about 15 16 so what's the theory how is it the theory is that social media is obviously causing all this self-awareness issues anxiety anxiety and it allows you to compare yourself to other people especially obviously younger people who are comparing in terms of looks you know there's that whole stereotype of how you're meant to look like betraying yourself as something that you're not yeah and then there's all the filters and such interesting me the other day my hairdressers sends out something on social media completely irrelevant to bushcraft obviously but it was saying how so many people are now going to the hairdresser's wanting a particular hair color that hair dyed in a certain way and it's actually all filtered so there is no way that anyone can actually achieve that hair yeah that's clear to Graham it's all got filtered you know social media and everything so your expectations are instantly unreal yeah you know and that's not just with hair obviously that's with everything and also we were saying the other day about location wise how you see yeah Instagram is quite bad for that see on Instagram so for example there'll be some world's natural heritage kind of site or a natural phenomenon what do they call them wandering the world type thing that sort of thing that used to be fairly secret and now especially I guess the younger generation they're on their phones all the time they're seeing these destinations a lovely picture of so-and-so waterfalls secret waterfalls they go on let's go there let's go there with our friends and then they get there and it's probably a bit of an anti-climax because they've already seen it in a photo there's we've lost that sense of discovery yes sense of adventure looking at a map and going let's go there and then discovering it and go wow this is amazing rather than going let's go there because this is like Stonehenge yeah Stonehenge you go there and you and people go there to see it it's probably quite an anti-climax when you've seen so many pictures of it well so we had it recently we went up to Scotland and went to the bridge where Harry Potter's filmed you know yeah yeah something you guys in Scotland will probably know what do you mean but it's it's the Harry Potter bridge the famous Harry Potter bridge yeah and we went there didn't we and it was rammed with tourists it was by coach coming in and it just you know we had sort of this image in our mind of how it would be and it wasn't anything like yeah it was it was sad really it was a real shame I mean if you want to see it still go it's been a very impressive so there is our theory to you guys what do you sort of think do you believe do you believe in this theory that it is the power of social media destroying kind of destroying society a bit and destroying the younger generation yeah they don't you know I say they don't know such a well rising all of them they're obviously that's not the case though there is a lack of them just

being out on their bikes on the streets and you know are the things you grew up doing they don't experience any of that it's all virtual like glue to their phones and well they're not so there's a lack of social skills and that's why there's anxiety around because these people aren't I said these people and this is a massive generalization but these yet this younger generation are not getting out there and talking to each other as much because they're talking digitally so that when they do find themselves in a social situation with loads of people around they're probably finding it quite awkward and quite difficult to socialize just the younger generations the other day no well doing photos somewhere and we actually watched an older lady with her dog out walking her dog and she was glued to her phone the entire time not concentrating on the dogs that were running around or anything and we also had it the other day another dog walking past us she was on the phone with headphones in walking on her phone not looking at all at her dog who was off the lead and around Jackson you know I'm turning this into a run now you know it was like the concept of you're going out on a dog walk it's probably the the one hour or two hours that you're going to spend out outside in a day without your face don't lose your phone it's like look around you there's nature there's things to see but yeah it's a real shame so that's we could go into a bit week this is what we talked about night we go into some real detail they let us know that's quite a deep theory time guys we've got pretty into that please let us know your comments cuz em your likes to see their comments as well on this one won't you so please comment delay let us know your opinion and let us know if maybe make you maybe you might be one of those people if you are we're not sort of digging at you or having a go at you we want to just encourage you to get out there and try try something a bit different and not be glued not be watching it behind your phone I mean we could go into details when we went to the Arctic Monkeys concert lately okay most people were watching the concert through their phone yeah not actually there and it's fair enough get a little short video but people are doing it every song right we noticed it last year as well around this time of year with the fireworks people filming the the fireworks

watching oh you're there yeah step back yeah technology yeah I agree with you holy I agree holding it helps mentally as well I think it's very very beneficial nature is therapeutic there is studies out there of how how much it can help you in your mental health so yeah get out there get into nature thank you for watching this episode of hear those thank you and for cooking up a novelist dish we can't find a dog he's gone he's off for the road deer but yeah thank you for watching really appreciate it please hit the subscribe button if you haven't give it a like' or dislike' we don't mind but mainly just interact we love to sort of hear your theories and your opinions and I'll see you guys soon for another episode don't know what it will be yet bushka oh I thought that was a puzzle bush-quayle fishing camping I don't really know but thank you very much and we'll see you soon you
