Our Emergency Arm Sling For The Bush

Description

On a recent trip into our cabin, my wife broke her shoulder during a snow machine mishap. This video shows how we immobilized her arm with what we had available to prevent further damage to the bones. We used this makeshift sling for almost a week before we rigged up something better and headed on out to town to get her fixed up. For a few days we were under the impression that her shoulder was only sprained. When the shoulder was just not getting better, we finally decided it must be something worse than just a sprain. It wasn't until we got to the clinic in town and viewed the Xrays that we realized that it was broken. She is now healing slowly and recovering.
