there are many good books in good videos and good speakers out there talking about why industrial agriculture is not the best thing for humanity or for the planet today I would like to just trust in our ability to see and I'll give some mostly visual demonstrations of what's really going on here's my one square foot let's see how much food crop we get out of here here's what we've got let's take this into the woods and compare here's our one square foot again let's see what we can get for food crops here we go this was on the ground and underground but of course the forest is three-dimensional and if we look up earlier in the season we would have had berries off of this off of this further up we're underneath the basswood and all of us who know our edible plants know that those make some very good greens make a salad out of that in the spring more delicious more nutritious and lettuce that oak up there is probably still going to be dropping acorns you
