many of us living today's society you can feel like it's really tough to get enough adventure in our lives today I'd like to share a simple tool for creating more challenge in your life on a daily basis I call it the bowl of challenges here's what you do it's very simple it's completely customizable for your life you take a bowl set it somewhere in your house and you fill it with little slips of paper fold it in half and each one of these slips of paper has a challenge on I like to make some be easy challenges it might say take a cold shower might say sit silently for 15 minutes might say go for a half hour hike things that are pretty easy to work into your life I also like to have some challenges that are but are a little bit tougher for instance you might pick up a piece of paper that says today you will not use the phone at all or you will not use the computer at all you're not going to eat at all it's also nice to throw a couple big ones in there you're gonna sleep outside tonight you're gonna spend the day in silence

take a vow of silence as soon as you pick up that piece of paper you spend three hours blindfolded all of these little challenges just add something to your day they take you out of your normal pathway of life they open you to new experiences new thoughts new sensations and give you a feeling that you're living more vibrantly here's a few more examples use your non-dominant hand to eat call a friend you haven't spoken to in over a month don't use your car ID and eat at least one new edible plant wild plants produce no trash cook food outside over a fire that you've started with a bow drill just a small list get creative make your own list that fits into your life some small challenges make it the bulk of it's small challenges so you know usually you're gonna reach in there and you're gonna have something you're just gonna add a little spice to your day put some medium ones in there that adds to the excitement and a few big ones one other thing to consider is that it's really nice to talk to your family let them know that you're doing this let me know why you're doing it so that when you pull that overnight out of your bowl you know the family is gonna know why you then after throw on the backpack and head out I use the hundred try to use the hundred percent rule for this so if I pull something out I've got to do it and that's a nice way to use the challenge bowl if you give yourself a little wiggle room it tends to turn into a lot of wiggle room so give it a shot see what you think and as always write me in the comments let me know some of the challenges that you put into your goal and if you feel that it adds something to your life thanks for watching
