greetings my friends I'm standing here in front of the Rewald University troop transport and why am i standing in front of a car on a rewilding channel that's a good question

here's the thing whether we call ourselves room while there's survivalist propers if we're just lovers of the outdoors whatever it is the reality is that for most of us we are spending a lot of our time indoors going to work driving doing other things that are of civilization now if we are interested in training our bodies and minds and evolving ourselves physically and mentally we're gonna find that a lot of these things that we do in civilization actually detract from that training for instance a car when I sit in a car I'm in a bucket seat so I'm sitting down and I'm kind of supported in a slouched position by the seat I am driving along and I am probably playing the radio hopefully I'm not texting or something but but chances are I'm kind of zoning out to some music singing song doo doo going along and what i'm doing here is my body is getting used to just slouching my mind is getting used to slouching it's not engaged in awareness or meditative state or and this runs true for many of the things that I'm going to be doing in regular life watching movie riding on a bus this goes on and on and on so what can I do about this this balance here I'm trying to train myself and grow stronger here there's all these things of civilization that are just kind of sucking that the bottom out of my training and undoing what I'm trying with so much effort to do the key is that we can use some of these things over here these times when we are watching a movie when we are driving we're on a plane we can use those as training today what I'm going to do is share how we can use driving in a car as a training time and you're gonna be able to extrapolate from that of course we could always remove these things from our life but that's for many of us a little bit too radical so if we have these things in our life how can we use them as positive training opportunities driving in a car is actually a great time to engage in our training and it's gonna make things a lot safer it's going to mean that my body gets forged a little bit and the time that I'm driving from point A to point B and my mind gets forged in that time that I'm spending driving first of all I can think about my posture instead of slouching back into that into that bucket seat I can sit off the seat so I'm having to engage my core as I'm driving just have to come in tortue off of that seat and suddenly my core has to engage pretty cool now instead of it sloshing away I'm building muscle through here in an isometric way if you want to get a little bit more extreme about it if you do MMA or martial arts of any kind or you just want to work on your abs you can tighten down like you're about to get hit through the ABS and you can do this in pulses you can hold it for you know as long as you want the point is that have a choice there to engage my abdominals and really firm things up through my whole core my hands there on the steering wheel so they can just sit there and hang from the steering wheel or they can engage what happens if I'm on a nice straightaway

everything looks safe and I just press in a little bit on that steering wheel now again I'm engaging myself isometrically I can pull out a little bit

you can change where my hands are on the steering wheel do the same thing and I can get a lot of cool ISO metrics that way you're a passenger you can sit on that seat you can press down and press against the dash all kinds of options that's the physical aspect the mental aspect is even better the reason that we often get an accident is because we are not aware of our surroundings when we're driving just like when we're walking on a trail and stare at the ground often when we're driving we just stare straight ahead I can't count the number of times that I'm in a car with somebody and an eagle will fly right over a head or there'll be a deer that's coming up to the side of the road they don't even see it because they were just staring at the road ahead of them so wide-angle vision I did a video on it recently and wide-angle vision is is awesome in the car is a perfect place to practice it I'm looking ahead at the road but I become aware of my peripheral vision and in becoming aware of my peripheral vision I suddenly see a whole lot more now when I'm in that state of wide-angle vision I'm also in the state of awareness in a meditative state because I'm I'm in my census not lost in my thinking so this can become a meditation as I Drive where I am extremely aware meditation of awareness instead of my mind going off thinking about what's gonna happen tomorrow this or that I'm fully engaged with my environment I can see not only peripherally a wide angle in front of me but I might even be able to train myself to be able to peripherally see what's in my mirrors and to be aware of what's behind me so in that way a driver can be just looking straight ahead and it seems like they're staring ahead like everybody else but they're aware of what's going on behind them they see that deer they see that eagle driving become so much safer because we're seeing incoming cars we're aware of our driving environment and at the same time we are mentally engaged we're using the driving as an awareness training opportunity a meditative training opportunity and with that posture we're working on ourselves physically at the same time there we go we have turned something from civilization that was slouching our body slouching our mind into something that's actively engaging our bodies and minds in the comments below share your thoughts or ideas of other places where we would be in a in a civilized context that otherwise would degrade us in some way and how we could use that positively to get ourselves into battle about our physical or mental shape thanks for watching can't wait to see your comments my friends
