hey guys doing a day this is William arse mess outdoors that catches with another video and in today's video we're going to do something from Marc Luber a very cool knife that I like and I've seen Chris wearing this quite a lot and that is the Fox River EXT 1 e xt 1 i keep forgetting that but the style of this the design of this and the handle makes this in my opinion a very very good bushcraft blade so let's go check it out so just I wanted to really quickly touch on this sheet I really like this sheath very nice you know just the retention strap is really nice I like that because you know over time you know with leathers that are just like friction fit over time that leather was gonna relax and you're gonna have a knife that just slips everywhere but this retention straps can keep that very secure nicely crafted chief well I want to speak on what you just said good about how it's gonna relax over time so speaking to well was the saying you know leather kind of relaxes over time if you get one of these I did a video on this and I just never posted it a lot of people freaked out at first because it's going to seem like this like it doesn't fit I mean you won't be able to just do it like this and they do that specifically for a reason so when you get it and if it's like that which it probably will be you kind of have to take a little bowl of hot water and just dip that leather strap in there and then you're gonna stretch it and you're gonna stretch it until you get it and then get it snap it in place and then you're just gonna let it sit and dry so then you're going to have perfect retention and it's not going to loosen up like what will the same because it started out already short and you had to fit it but a lot of people don't know that just like some of those bark rubber sheets a lot of people don't know this isn't one of them but you know they come flat and they're like this doesn't hold it very well and it's meant to go into the leather so that's this little trick you kind of need to know when you're dealing with these these sheaths you know one of the things about bark river that I do enjoy is their handles are really nice they're not really too square this one's nice and round extremely comfortable in the hand and you know I like the fact that the blade edge is close to my guide finger so that's gonna give me a lot of control a lot of detail work this thing is a really nice design for in the woods would have absolutely no problem carrying this as a main knife so this one is a 3 v CPM 3v it's a DLT exclusive two DLC exclusive so links will be down below for DLT pick this up from them and we'll don't like all the knives that I generally have so I mean I would say that I am a little bit on the picky side when it comes to knives you know I don't like all the crazy knife designs and you know reinventing the wheel kind of stuff there are some of Chris's designs that I really do like there are some that I don't you know he's one of my best friends but I'm not gonna sit there and blow smoke up his butt and talk oh yeah I love that that would be awkward we're not that good of friends all right so like I said this being as comfortable as it has a really long nice handle let's see what it can do here this probably would have full convex yep extremely sharp that's a lot of meat just for that let's try to make that a little bit thinner finding the grind does it seem legs for any a bit of an issue at all you got to be careful with this already I could tell if you put too much pressure in this grind you're gonna sink into that wood there's not necessarily a bad thing if you're you know carving getting big chunks of wood out for four spoons or you know other things that you're trying to carve out but this also can do really nice on some detail work too and Will's looking at it you know just as a like a bushcraft e-type knife but it's just the right size weight and everything and the sheets I I've been carrying as my everyday carry knife on my belt yeah it doesn't look threatening it just it's not too big it's not too clear I mean it's super sharp yeah it's this stupid sharp yeah I'm not putting any pressure into this at all I'm just letting the knife guide down the ridge is the previous ridges that I made from my previous cuts just letting the knife do the work I'm getting some nice little ribbons out and when I do i do feather sticks like this a lot to test knives because i could put pressure in and i can see how much the knife is gonna dig or i can lighten up and see how my finesse cuts and my detail works gonna be you know that's why you see us doing this test a lot is because I get a lot of information from this test nice very nice

man nothing just really sinks into the reverse grip really well I like that at all

look at that chump something's pulling out that's pretty impressive see if we can't get a little finesse out of that yeah that that really was a knife that it wasn't sure I was gonna be into well one of the reasons why I'm doing this video is because this might sound funny but literally this is the one of the knives that I've seen crisp carry on him the longest usually I see him carry a knife for like a week or so and then it moves on to another knife I've seen him K this for a long time you know other than something that he actually designed you know so I was like okay let me check it out and you know just fall around with the playing around with it like this thing is really nice I really really like this one I'm gonna have to do a video on it just and I just happen to have it on me so now we are the perfect little wood carver perfect little camp knife main knife not much you couldn't do with this all right let's make a notch real quick I get going I just go all the way through that wood

seeing how mmm how far I can take those big cuts

nice nice little notch there it's a little flat a notch let's do square notch

nice very nice get the tip of the blade in there do some work yeah I think I won't mind these this is really nice

very nice

you know something to be said about this knife is not really struggling to get the work done knife is incredibly sharp even still now we've done nothing to this edge 3v no surprise I really enjoy how they hold their edges you know like I said I'm not really struggling to get the work done I'm just gliding through the wood effortlessly no really nice I really like the finish and just the overall style of this blade this is really nice you know this is fine she's checking it out you know if I come back here for thumb assistance things got it's not uncomfortable but it does have a really sharp spot ten seconds you got something that you can spark or more aggressive tender nice

there you go yeah this is a this is definitely a keeper in my opinion my style all the way around nice knife so if you want to pick this one up or anything else from DLC links going to be in the description below trust me you will not regret buying this knife it is a very very nice time so I hope you enjoyed the video and if you did I appreciate if you click like below subscribe to the channel if you already have it I appreciate all reviews comments and support and hopefully we'll see you out in the woods you
