Bushcraft Camp with a Subscriber - Deer Meat, Axe, Knife, Camp Food

Description

I head to the bushcraft camp with a subscriber. We get a cooking fire going and cook spit roast deer meat (venison) over the fire. We use the usual bushcraft axe and knife to prepare a spit roast and gather fire wood. Thanks for joining us at the shelter for some camp food!

sunny I think he's gonna grab it try that's nice Cheers boys welcome to the bushcraft camp I'm here with a subscriber and and a friend of mine Matt we met at the bush crush we met about six months ago well actually we didn't meet first our dogs met first so my dog Jax met Matt's dog Jess and they got on really well they hit it off we then just about two days we spent this yeah we had a few beers it was really good and we got talking and then we we basically kept saying for ages we want to meet up Matt lives at the complete opposite end of the country to me he lives up north I live down south so I said to Matt come down south as if I'm at his wife Traci come down south let's spend a few days and do some stuff so we've been to London we had a good day under yes we did all sorts we did this like golf indoor golf thing and an escape room I don't know if you guys have done escape rooms before but that was really cool as a futuristic one I've never seen that before yeah Dark Side of the Moon that was it Doc's had the moon that was really good fun and then yeah we just we've had a few meals out we've had quite a few minutes at about time we've had a meal in the in the woods so we're here at the bush golf camp it's rained a bit we're not probably not going to do the night but we spent we've got here pretty much a dark walking so we spent would be know about five hours now and we've slow-cooked a big hunk of venison meat I don't know if you saw that on the spit we just spit roasted it over the fire for about two hours cooked up some potatoes as well and some carrot and we put it all in this lovely pot here one of Matt's cooking pots and you know it looks incredible steaming away let's tuck in yes this looks so good this me okay so the phone good enough they cook well I thought the carrots were gonna be really crunchy I think the potato to my yeah I know if you guys get this a home but whenever I'm cooking boiled potatoes I never cooked them long enough you always think oh yeah 25 minutes will do boiling away and you saw bite into them they could at least do another 15 minutes it never works out you need you're cooking for like an hour to get anything decent from it well they're not too bad you know I think that bang on hey they're piping hot but ya didn't bring any like any of Dustin's luxury seasonings out with me Dustin I hope you're proud of me because I worked hard on that and we presented it bushcraft style on that on the carrots so yeah appreciate that it's not-it's no dustin meal but it certainly is it's only as fit for a 3-hour job being in the woods I think it's quite impressive we're bang on we're banging on wintertime now we're not bang on beginning of wintertime still late autumn I guess so it's dark at 4:00 p.m. so that's why we decided to slow cook some meat so we could actually get the fire going anyway and just Spencer I don't think it's gonna get down to freezing tonight but we've had some wins and weight you have to be strong yeah it's been like 20 dialogue now what's been really strong least it's more yesterday yes then we had 40 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts and when they ripped through it because we were gonna camp originally we're gonna do an overnighter yesterday well yeah but the winds were so bad and trees would have just been down it'd have been too risky so we decided we were gonna do it tonight but then time gets we ran out of time and things like that so you're going back tomorrow yeah so been good it's been good good three days yeah yes sir let's go north next time yeah next time I'm gonna go up north and hope you do some camping trips with them with Matt maybe we're in the dogs out yeah we'll see the jack I don't know about Jess but Jax doesn't the winter too well now she's in shock sure yeah short hair coats doesn't do too well Jax is so low to the ground he just freezes anyway jess is like 50 times she's the opposite of Jax I say you what I'll try and overlay a picture on the video now of Matt's table guess what she matched what breed is she tonight he's a Rottweiler German Shepherd ground unbelievable mess is a really unique looking dog so hopefully you guys are seeing an image of Jess right now but how old is just as she has just got one year or so so she's a year younger than Jax yeah Jax is just gone too but he absolutely loves Jess he literally is in love with him he's infatuated with Jess so he's probably eating to see her and he's probably really jealous that we really camp it's good good to have you here man and thank you very much for coming down and spending some time and come into the camp and that's good to see they come softly watch on YouTube and yeah yeah it's good to be yes Matt's are said to Matt he's the second other than Alex teal matt is eight what actually matters the only the first and the only subscriber to have ever been to the bushcraft camp so being privileged that's good yeah yeah it's falling down in certain places but in other areas it's it's holding up and it's doing all right

we used to where is raining earlier we use the rolling roof top brush to go out halfway over the fire just to protect the fire a bit and that works well yeah get the fire going we used just so you know for the woods we use some pine Scots pine for the the support sticks we use beach for the spit all the rotisserie don't know if they know which what you would call it we started to fire with some birch bark and then some pine you don't like cooking over pine it burns out really quick so we got some birch and then we put up with some we got lucky finding some oh we found some oak and it's not usually around in this wooden of much so certainly not dead anyway so we got really lucky so we've got good fire going and now we're gonna enjoy our food nice safe thank you very much for watching and we'll catch up with you in a minute well it's only been a short trip of the bushcraft camp for this episode so apologies for that but I'm gonna be going up to Matt probably next time and I hope you've enjoyed this is something slightly different
