I

low and welcome to a new episode of the survival school that idea today I want to show you the review i said before of this grandfather knife and the grandfather knife is made from a knife maker here in Austria his name is Richard cabella and you can visit his home page on Messimer hot 80 I set the link down the very way or at the end of this video so you can have a look at it yeah this is the grand for a knife and this is the sheath from the knife has a hell loop for also for white belts so my spec was to fit a two-inch south as well so this is made out of three millimeter veg tan leather and has this nice little binding around the edge of this sheath and this pitching is behind that the city's just for decoration for a nice-looking sheet yeah the knife this is the knife I've should do this one before it

from the styling head from the trading knives in the colonial time from the colonial area so yeah the handle is n plus the knife is made out of one bones 25-19 which is a little bit better I would say than the old ones will still but it's very close in the specs so it's a carbon steel and this is the rough rough side of the blade which is from forging this one and I've decided to let it there for optically reasons this is their logo of Richard capella you can see this on my other grandfather night video has a lanyard hole at the end of the handle and four rivets everything is from stainless steel the logo I've created is the medicine stone circle or medicine wheel and has the name grandfather around it the medicine will stand for the beginning of all life north south east west as all the spirits the circle itself stands for the life itself for the month for the here for everything is just a wheel of life you can say and my grandfather died this year and he always had a knife with him with the entra handle and so I decided to create this dis logo with the Medicine Wheel it she's from the beginning from the life until the end of your life and and all what comes after and grandfathers honor and respect to him and he's the guy who showed me mother nature he's the guy who brought me odds and cuffed me some slingshots and some primitive pose and showed me which wild edibles are around and which fungi I can eat and not and just spend a lot of time with him and I decided this is a good way of keeping the grandfather my grandfather as long as all the grandfather's a little bit of life and so you can have it with so I can have him with me in any way and thence my thoughts are with him when are using these knives and sad for me it's a nice thing to to have and really like it five millimeters thick steel and full tank construction with 90 degree angle so i can easily creep off some box from the error up no problems at all with the tonight you can see ya there edges convex granite so heavy not so heavy it looked like but they're a big knife big old own eyes and yeah let's see how is the fence the first thing I want to do is some returning this reason I've done at the time yet

I didn't fill the drawers where you can see what I'm doing you can see no problems at all with beth owning his knife is really made for heavy use so I'm not feeling bad by the toning with a knife like this razorsharp you can see it curls up very fine curves for the fantastic it's a little bit of practice to use a convex grind edge for making Farah sticks because of the changing angles but once you get rid of it then it's no problem at all and I really don't have to do that much pressure on it just let the knife slide through the material and I also can't do some bigger chunks by pressing a lot more but further sticking is all about making more phone calls and they should be very fine at the end of the stick so maybe get it lit by fire too

I'm not very useful with making fire still bleeding sheriff sticks so i use Ferris taking just for starting the fire after I have lit my tinder with the fire field to normally carry with me in the woods and but with a little practice you are sure able to do lit the therapy with your fairy and yeah there because you got your really really fine if I can do very very fine clothes this is a wood which grows very straight very fast so you make it off very straight feathers of this but it's not a real problem yes you can see curls up really nicely and great job with this knife the next thing is we want to try to do some coming and for this reason I just get myself a small pic take this one yet and some of you know they're carrying techniques or some don't but I will play video on this little later so first the push cut with the thump you can see 12 rounds and I'm through this dick at no problem and also for making a point on the stick shit very fast doing next thing is to make a notch by push cut end up cup

deeper here we go a notch the point that are one of the most important things to carrefour whittle down in the woods for making traps you can use the noches for 10 pack you need the point even for Spears or something like that you need to point yeah but you can also do very heavy cutting with this knife you can see one cut through the material no problem with that one although the chest fever grips which gives you a lot of power lot of control all the one card through it's very dry hard wood so it not the best material for testing out maybe green pigs would go very easily and this knife even feels very comfortable in the end so if you're working a long a period of time or some old swilling something down until yet that don't get any blisters enhance with this knife store it's well made it absolutely has made everything a tent made from this one and I'm really happy with his knife my main outdoor user there is a big knife for small knife a cara neck knife to show you in a last video yeah but fall heavier tasks also preparing game or whatever because you can choke up on the plate like this can you even kidding just kidding with it or yeah whatever you have to do so let's try one thing Tom threw a stick on it you will go after all this Kendall

fine curls on the paretic again no problems the great heavy use auto knife there with the little grandfather attachment to it and hope you have enjoyed this video see you soon on a next one please feel free to comment or rate or whatever and I have a great time out in the nature as I have for any questions just ask so see you next time bye

you
