hi folks and welcome to a new episode my name is Mike today I want to show you how I wrap the handle of a skeletonized neck knife

stay with me what I have here is the shrade SCH f5m which is a skeletonized handled neck knife and because the skeletonized handle isn't that comfortable I try to wrap it now with paracord to make it more comfortable in the hand well before I start wrapping the handle with paracord I want to show you the knife it is made by charade Taylor brands take a look at shrade's comm for more information shrade SCH f5m this is the model with the plain edge I also have the serrated one as you can see the blade fits nice in the hand well it could be a little long or up there by the pinkie but to tell the truth skeletonized handles are not that comfortable at all so that's the blade right there as I told you we have the skeletonized handle and this beer bottle opener or bottle opener at the back here which almost looks like a face look at that the eye the mouth can you see it funny huh you want to make sure you have the blade in the sheath it's very important because you need to know where to start the wrapping of the handle if you're doing it from this hole right there the knife won't fit back in the sheath again so make sure the blade is in the sheath and then you know exactly where to start your wrapping and you have the sheath as functional as always what we have here is 5 feet of paracord and this rate SCH f5m find the middle of the cord by simply putting the ends together

line them up until you have the middle of the court as said before always keep tonight

in the sheath all right once you have found the middle of the court which is this here just lay it on top of the handle right there pinch it with your finger so that is secure there and then because of the cut out in this handle feed the line through from this side here feed it through and the other one as well make sure it's tight as tight as possible go around and again feed it through read from the one side feed it from the other side again put it as tight as you can repeat this process just going around this handle side here feed it through go around this part here feed it through across it and then put it as tight as you can you

when it comes to the very last bit may need to push some court down to fit as much in as you can you really want this stuff as tight as possible so I'm finished with wrapping up this part here with the last chord I went through this I here

just pull it tight as tight as you can go forwards and try to fit the other line also from the back side through that hole tied off as hard as you can don't want to have any we lose parts in this wrapping see that and at the end just tie a knot very close to the tank and you're good to go just tie a simple overhand knot on this side here and you can decide if you're right-handed or left-handed whatever where you want to have this knot you need some kind of nut on some sort of place anywhere on this tank but how about which side you prefer it's up to you and with the excess core you can either make a lanyard loop so that you won't lose the knife or just cut it off whatever look at that way more beautiful than before and way more comfortable than before because now if you grab the knife you have some sort of handle and in a survival situation you have spear cottage that you can use if you don't like to have the knot on one of the sides of the hole just feed the last bit of the string one string from this side one string from this side and just tie it off with a simple overhand knot then you have to knot at the back of the hell and knot on one side of the tank and that makes it even more comfortable in hand isn't it better than before at least it is more comfortable in the hand so I hope you'll like this video thanks for watching see you next time my god
