I'm survival early and this is my best friend survival Mike and today we are going to hone our primitive skills in a battle shooting stay tuned have fun so Lily's preparing the handhold for the atlatl that we're gonna shoot today she already did the spear the dart of the atlatl and straighten it in a very very good way so this is a really long and straight piece of wood that has a light flex to it as you can see the bottom here you have this notch where the hook from the handhold will go in later on if you're interested in what kind of knife Google is using this is the cold steel SRK the new one with the US aid steel fletching it up like this is the most traditional way just put on the feathers glue them in with some pine pitch and yeah go with string around it to secure it and it's very important to do this binding at the end to prevent it from splitting when you throw it very very hard that's our ancestors did it thousands of years ago so lily and I are going for two different hand holes for that level mine is a little bit longer because I'm just a bigger guy but both of them have this pointy end which here is for example and on the cut as well and our Lily's you have this nose kind of thing almost looks like some sort of animal with an eye on the side nice one okay I'm shooting with a hazelnut atlatl and it's quite long almost my size and I had to bend it over the fire to get it straight so now let's see how far I can get with this outlet in here around 30 meters look at that amazing great job and now it's my time right I'll try it out just pinch it with those two fingers roll it like hell you hit the tree yeah oh my god I think you're gonna destroy it
