when it comes to a survival knife there are at least 100 different opinions that say those are the best or those are the best most of them will tell you it is the ultimate blade nothing T for more than the people's thoughts or what makes a good survival knife in this video I want to show you what knife you really need to stay alive thanks for tuning in my name is Mike and I'm a professional survival trainer and wilderness guide talking about the most overrated and most important tool when it comes to survival the survival knife yes

the survival knife but what makes a simple cutting tool to a survival knife the size the features it comes with like a building slingshot I saw a sheath that can sharpen the blade and light fire maybe it is the fact that some of those specialists on YouTube say it is the ultimate the one and only V blade the mother of all to be honest nothing of that is true let's start from the beginning why you need a knife when it comes to survival you need it for cutting that's all nothing more needed to cut sticks to create a trap you needed to cut branches for the roofing of your shelter you needed to cut feta sticks to help you get a blazing fire going you needed to cut clean and cut an animal that you maybe got with your trap you have create while cutting a few sticks the right way when it comes to a survival knife it doesn't have to be a huge knife that weighs a ton is thick as fuck and won't cut at all because of the geometry you don't need a Rambo style knife with a useless sandbag you don't need all the fancy shit that some of the blades are delivered with you need a knife that cuts a knife that is sharp and most important is on your person all the time every time the best ultimate one an only survival knife that knife that you have on your person when shit hits the fan and you are in a scary survival situation while a huge badass blade may excel in shelter building it's useless in most other tasks but to tell the truth shelter is easily built with debris found anywhere laying on the ground you just have to pick it up and build your shelter this may be better for patterning large food into pieces but to tell the truth most of my fires are started and kept going with small sticks found anywhere laying on the ground killing alligators with only a knife or a wild boar is so far away from reality than anything else when it comes to a real survival situation yes big knives look cool and you feel like you are the boss of nature but even for chopping an axe is way more effective and a hatchet easier to carry to sum it all up the knife you always have on your person is the best survival knife while size and style is up to you and depending on where you live and what the problems are you may have to face you want it as sharp as possible easy to maintain even in the field and with a good sheath pouch or pocket clip so it is comfortable to have it on you all day long and you won't lose it you need to know your knife how it feels in the hand how it cuts how it reach our pants how it does all the different tasks you ask for and where the limits of the blade are I hope this helps you when you choose your personal favorite survival knife out of all those thousands of brands styles and what have you one thing I want to mention before I leave make sure you check out the description box down below down there so check it out

I want to say thanks for watching please subscribe if you haven't leave me a thumbs up share it with friends family comment and have a great day Mike
