nice career here pathfinder school not here today going to do a video on an Apache foot trap this was a request from a friend of mine so what this trap is is for a larger hook type animal to step into and for it to catch is snared so what we need to do is find a obvious game trail that you know say something like a deer so our hope is going to walk down then we need to dig is alone then happy very big or very deep this use my canteen cup stove here to dig out this little hole the first thing we need to do is make us some rings like this this is made out of just grapevine and the bigger one needs to be able to fit the hole and then next we need to make a smaller one that's about this big around in the center way I like to do this finding a piece of grapevine weddings off

something going hearing this start you can also use a know some green saplings you know make some witty do this whatever people find is liable to be able to make this twisted there we go this will sit in here like this what we're going to do is cut us ol half a dozen or 10 or so sticks here when taking knock the stuff off here so I can get them to slide through my rings put some semblance of a point on here don't have to be real sharp is to be able to snag air hold on guys see this little run for book Brooks many that I have here

does an excellent job shaving well as job would be afraid he's this little grunge for Brooks many ads a primary one choice tool myself really grown the like it there's actually a guy is friend of mine that is starting a online store here in the United States will be selling drugs for Brooks axes and also some really really nice wool clothing and

he gets his website finished enough I want to do a little something on that put these guys up with his website to show you some of the things anyways got our two rings here welcome on a new work the sticks in these two very

want to get this little ring centered sometimes you get your wool next order

like

that up

there we go okay got something that looks like this our points in the middle here I'll place that over a hole on our trail here cover back on this many this is stinking sharp

got you bed all right so we got our hole here with our brains and our barbs come to the center

now but what this bring all this ring is going to

is keep our snare from sliding off a hoofed animal because they don't have you know like us we got a foot you know to catch on or a hook the animals more like this tell this holder foot right up out of me I'll get whatever we're going to use for a snare here I'm going to use this piece of paracord demo I probably take a page number piece of make line and twist it together in a double ply that plenty strong just want to make sure this is strong

overhand loop on there let's split just like a regularly would place this snare around this

then I want to anchor my other end preferably to something springing that's going to act as a shocking okay

so now the object of this is to make an animal step on this spot on this trail how we're going to do that just take something and place it on the trail now imagine this clothes a little bigger on either side of this hole that way is mr. animals coming down this hole or this trail he's going to step over whatever we place in this trail right he's gonna want to step over and come into our trap you know we usually call placement sticks when you're like trapping flying sets on trails with canines and such with steel traps exact same principle with this trap so there would be our finished trap on the trail got it hid anchored will on a likely spot with our sticks for our foot placement come up step over

indoor track now let's look at how this trap actually works got a camel off we can see what this is supposed to do the idea this is as we talked before about any animal with a skinny leg that doesn't have something to catch this snare you know if this steps in and come right back down all this ring and spikes does when an animal steps in here this rain catches on their play like this then when they pull it tightens the snare this ring is just keeping the snare sliding off the end of their foot so I said these spikes that we put in here are Barb's don't have to be real sharp all this has got to do is catch this ring so this ring doesn't slide off well hope that was a good explanation of the patchy foot trap to spend Steve Davis with the Pathfinder school I thank you for reviews and thank you through all your sports see on the net
