all right guys here we are first afternoon of deer camp at the old Dave camp over here going on some sausage frying up to make reach for the rooster bullets for some lunch deal tick bat in their pack on top of that let the old Fowler sitting right here in front ready glutes smack down a deer tomorrow Steve Davis over there in the wall tent making his way over here with some meat pretty sure that's a good old fire going on here some food right here we are day one of deer camp bunch of guys around the fire eating breakfast I haven't heard any musket shots go off yes a critter must not I got a deer none of us got a deer this morning but first rate for the deer camp trust the old traps never let it be said the traps won't provide meat same three traps I had out during the Scout run another raccoon today and there you go we're good now all right we go Jimmy's got a deer down the shoulder shot it you can kill it good tracking

get Darkon take three four wheeler down there where do that it can't retrieve us there

all right Jimmy said he shot it right here at the shelter who's actually sitting by the shelter shot over the backside and ran down toward the ravine so and him and Brian get here we'll start seeing we can do to track and hope we find it before dark no sign of blood anyone fellows so far we've hit these ridges pretty hard I'm not seeing any blood Jimmy said he hit her in the shoulder we'll keep our eyes on Orlan here we are on day four deer camp we didn't find that we didn't find the deer that I shot yes this morning but uh now we're just trying to stay dry and cooking some leftovers but free ham and bagels sausage last night's leftovers of beans and ham and took the fried potatoes and just dump them in there too so let's go mean like dinner tonight

so be good we got a nice fire going spit of trench will downpour all day long no deer so far I know deep that fire going there I'll be keep going well if you look at this fire guys I'm not kidding it's been pouring rain Jimmy can throw the calves around there like see how bad it is out here the photos and stuff and uh we had a pretty decent bed of coals this morning we just started piling on lit up on top of this and I'm kind of protecting it it's kind of drying the wood out and you can see it's burning pretty good down in there and uh even with a really good hard rain that's still going to go Oh No No get out of here okay I'm trying to shoot this video and I got guys back here dancing in the background and I can like pool the deer camp but that's okay it's all in good fun so I'm going to try to do that real quick is to go with the winter camping series because we are camping in fairly cold and nasty weather it's been raining all day today temperatures drop down the teens tonight or tomorrow I want to talk about wrapping up properly in a wool blanket I've had a lot of people ask me about that question that and I've seen some comments asking about wool blankets lately so we talked about the size of the wool blanket being a very important factor in using a wool blanket in the camping scenario especially in a winter and you really want a queen size won't blanket for that doesn't have to be the festival blanket on the planet but you want it to be big the bigger the wool blanket is the easier is going to be for you to layer inside that wool blanket layering is the important parts trapping that dead air space so what you want to do with a blanket like this and we've got this tick bed that we've been using and we showed that in the video the other day and what you want to do with this now on a night where I've got a pretty good fire it's not going to get real cold you can get away with just folding this thing in half like a sleeping bag and you're going to be okay once it gets down below freezing you're going to want a different plan and what you do with that is you take this blanket and put this thing out in a diamond fashion instead of putting it in a square they think this thing out and lay it give yourself a little bit of room up here by your head where your pillow is going to be your brows bag is put that thing in diamond fashion out here like this then when you crawl in this thing take the boots off take your hat off and look like a dork with a head there that in the back of the canoe there what you're going to want to do is lay inside this thing and the first thing you do is take this flap and pull that up over your feet that's going to be the area that's really important you don't want to pull this thing up tight because then you are not dropping dead air space but you want it to be loosely wrapped over the top of you in multiple layers so you take this and layer it over double then you've got the side you can layer it over triple to get three layers of wool over your feet and when you get in this thing you're going to have the same thing here you can put one layer of wool here pull the other side out of the diamond here and roll up into this thing and have three layers of wool on your body then you can take this thing up if you've left yourself enough room you can pull this all the way over your head I didn't leave myself quite enough room with that I'd have to pull it up just a little bit to do that just like that then I can get inside this thing and get two or three layers of wool over my face three layers over my legs and three layers over my core it's not that difficult to get out of or sit up in if I need to get back into it if I have to that's the proper way to use a wool blanket in extremely cold conditions

you suck what I just did that video is you really yeah that was on the blankets bed rolls didn't watch it did well you commented on it but don't mean I watched at all well how long was the video 31 bills that's what there you go well there you go just so you know snow walker bushcraft my buddy Brian Manning just did this video if you go to his channel you'll be able to see that you
