okay guys what I'm doing out here today is I'm setting up a quickie inexpensive what I would call a poachers camp okay I'm going to show you how I make that and the reason I'm doing this I've got a beat-up tarp right here it's been laying out in the weather for quite a while I want to test out a new product that we have for tarps but what I did here as you can see I'm going to raise that in here that raised bed was pretty simple to make I'm gonna walk you guys through that real quick on this video and then we're going to try to get this tarp setup okay so what I did here guys I just took three old feed bags as all these are okay and these came right out of my building you can find these anybody's got a farm you know like I do would have a lot of feed bags laying around I probably got 100 of these things and I took two poles that were you know longer than my body these are about seven and a half footers and then I ripped the bags open at the bottom slid the poles through the bags and overlapped the three bags then I took and cut a stick that has a fork in one end of it let's see if I can get this outta here it has a fork in one end okay and the other end is just flat and I measured it by pushing it out and seeing make sure it was a little bit longer than I chopped it off and then I can use a baton that I cut out the same tree did you pound that in place and then it's not going anywhere I did that on both ends okay and then I laid that on top of just a couple cut logs you could use rocks you could tie it on tripods that really wouldn't matter just anything to get it up off the ground it's all I'm worried about is protection from moisture in this wet Ohio weather and then I just want to cover and I've got a ridge line above my head right now but this feedback situation works pretty good

let me lay on this thing for you so you can see okay so like I said I got three feed bags here overlapped I got poles at about 7 feet long and I can get right on that lay down what's up here there we go now I can go to sleep just like that it's gonna get me up off the ground I need to you know if I've got a bent stick right here something where I need to make some adjustments I can bend that out twist it out it's not a big deal but this isn't too shabby really I could sleep like this easy enough okay like I said once I've got my bed sat there I need to make cover thanks Adam federal Park and thorns on one side camouflage on the other problem with this tarp is it only has grommets on two sides we've got grommets in the corners but it's only got pullout grommets really on two sides and I want this thing lengthwise over my head so that's the problem because that's not going to give me length I want if I turn this thing the other way so we're going to have to compensate for that and that's what we're going to use these new devices at so what we're going to do is we're going to adjust this who thought what we want it what I'm trying to do is get a lean-to type thing going on here try to get this even up because there's no grommets on the sides so that's where the problem comes in if we're gonna fix real easy now we could probably tie a stone in there or toggle easy enough that's true enough and it's not a big deal but I've got a product that's pretty cheap that I think will work better and give us quicker results we're going to try that today okay so what I'm going to do here is I'm going to just tie myself a quick frost equip one two three times around to make a good solid prusik on here and that should be something that especially with this bank line I can pull it and move it but it's not going to give now what I've got here is just a small ABS plastic device that's two pieces and it's held by friction so what happens is you pinch your tarp in between there and close it and as you're pulling against here because you've got tension on both holes trying to pull them even it pitches that tarp even harder so what I'm going to do is I'm going to take this thing I'm gonna put it together on here and see what happens put that just like that move that out just a little bit doesn't need to be quite in that far I don't think day to earth long as it's got in those teeth that should be good and then I'm just going to take my Prosecco and just pull it through both my holes just like that and then just tie a square knot in it for right now just to give me something like you pull against it's not going to come undone and then when I pull that it should stay taut and we'll put one on the other end we'll tighten it up and find out okay so on this end we're going to do the same thing we'll get that

prusik on their first and I'm just taking those two tails and going one to three times through the loops push it together and pull it taut that bank line binds against itself really well and that should give me a non-slip not going back the other direction now I've got this other clip right here I'm going to pull it apart put it underneath this tarp hopefully in about the same place [Applause]

first time I've used these guys bear with me it's probably an easy way to just slide that in between there or something I'm just kind of doing the way I think is going to hold it best at the moment there we go now if I put both of those through those two holes again like I said or one of them through those two holes tie a square knot in that that I can pull against like that now I should be able to pull that and put a lot of tension on it's not going anywhere that's good exactly what it's supposed to do yeah I feel exposed yeah that's not moving that's good and tight and it's not going anywhere all right now we can just stake it down like normal and we'll have our quickie poachers camp and just having those two little clips you know it saves a lot of headache looking for stones wrapping it up messing around Yatta Yatta Yatta and I can move those around if I make a mistake I can move them to another piece of the tarp or another part of the tarp I don't have to untie a bunch of stuff pull the stone out put it back in and mess around those are pretty nice little clips and they can't be very expensive but my pop gave them to me this weekend said try these out thinking about carrying them so I thought I'd take a look at them they seemed to work pretty good

okay guys so there she is quick down and dirty common man three feed bags $6 tarp from Menards orange on one side camo on the other this was beat to death but it still does the job probably a year old just a quick and easy way to make a functional camp on a low budget three feed bags an old tarp and a bahco laplander you can put something like this together in about 15 minutes platform beds are easy to make it special if you got feed bags they use them you know all over Asia for the same purpose that's where I learned it so I thought I'd show it to you guys today and I appreciate you joining me for this video I thank you for your support I thank you for your views I thank you for what you do for me for my family for my business and I'll be back with another video as soon as I can you
