morning folks I'm Dave Canterbury with self-reliance outfitters in the pathfinder school me and Rufus came out for a little Scout today around the woods just to kind of see what was moving just to get out of the house and enjoy a nice winter day we're not getting really there's no Ohio right now but I'm not gonna let that stop me from doing what I wanted to do today and I wanted to show you guys another hammock system today that's got a different type hang system or strapping system than what we've talked about in the past and I've done quite a few hammock videos as of late just to kind of show you different ways to hang the hammocks and different systems and I got this hammock from a company called Dream hammock right here in Ohio and these are u.s. made hammocks that includes the strap system and the bug net as part of the package and I wanted to show you this today because the strap system or the hang system for this is a little bit unique compared to what I showed you in the past although it's not brand new but to me it's probably the most simple hang system that I've seen so far stay with me we'll just get this dude hung up in the tree okay so the best thing about this system as far as I'm concerned is it's all self-contained and you can open it from either end of the stuff sack or the bag and it has very little weight to it whatsoever so what I do is I put strap in first the hammock and then a strap and laughs so it really doesn't matter which side I open this thing from I'm always going to have one of the straps available and then I can just lay the rest on the ground and the strap is a very simple long strap with a loop in it and all you do is place that around your tree and feed it through the hole like a lot of other strap systems out there so that part's really nothing phenomenally different get anything else man what I really like about this is the way that the strap system works oh let me get it close up and show you that okay so once I've got the hammock in my hand I can just pull out one end of the bag drop it to the ground then it has a buckle on the hammock itself and that is the simplicity of this whole thing is that all you do is feed this strap through the buckle like you would a normal belt they say ladies you're just without gloves on but you pull it through there pull it down to where you want it get your strap adjusted and then just walk the hammock to the other side so when I get to the other side I have my hammock and I have the strap all I have to do is pull a strap out and do the same thing again the same feed system through the eye just like that get that up where I want start about head height with this hammock it works about the best again very simple belt buckle style cinch strap on here pull it through feed it in tighten it down you can yank that dude as tight as you want yank it on both sides and that dudes ready to sleep in it it's just that simple self-contained which makes it really really simple it's a pretty wide pan that's almost a double wide if you hang it like I did it about head level just that head level on the trees it gives you that good 30-degree hang and puts that thing where you're sitting down in it and your feet are touching the ground and it's just about perfect so it's a simple simple system I really like this woodland camouflage pattern that's always been one of my favorite patterns of camouflage for hunting and things just been this old woodland camo pattern but you've got a bug net you've got a Ridgeline a static Ridgeline it's got a set of pockets on the ridgeline you can get this thing out of your way if you need to you can see it better so you got a set of pockets on the static ridgeline here you can wrap a beaner on there and there's a little trick I'll show you on the next hammock video we do of how to wrap a beaner on there so you can slide the beaner up and down but it's pretty stable on there for hanging your headlight or something like that off of when you're sleeping but is a really good system by dream hammock and again this hammock is made in the USA this thing's made in their shop in Ohio and the price of this thing is very very reasonable for a US made product and very comparable to other hammocks like it with these accessories on the market I think the retail on this one I believe is right around 150 bucks that's with the straps with the built-in bug net the whole nine yards so the only thing you don't have for 150 bucks just a tarp but everything else I mean this this thing is rock-solid I really really am impressed with this hammock and I'm really impressed as a us-made product so I want to show it to your day and I wanted to show you that turnbuckle type cinch strap because that just makes it a no-brainer to set this thing up and take it down ok so again you know the system itself is so simple I can come in here and just turn this buckle sideways and it loosens up completely pull the strap out take it out and what I do is like I saw I stuff one strap in the bag I tighten down one end of the bag all the way just like that the other end is open I wrap that strap up and just stuff it in the bottom of the bag and then I chase it with the hammock

now I just pick up morning to the hammock and start stuffing it as I go the simple simple system really it's really really simple the up and down on this thing in about two minutes if you're wearing gloves if you're not wearing gloves excuse me stuff it down in there

suck it strap wrap that dude up stuff into the top of the bag and now it doesn't matter which into this bag I open up I've got to strap on both ends and all I have to do is yank the hammock out you're a setup again okay folks well I appreciate you joining me here today for this quick video on the dream hammock system again I just wanted to show it to you mainly because the us-made hammock and then secondly because I'm really fond of that strap system I like it about the best I found so far of any strap system out there even better than a Whoopie sling by far you don't have the T toggles and you don't have to have a separate such straps and all in that business you got one strap one buckle tighten it up and you're done

I appreciate your views I appreciate your support I thank you for everything you do for our school for our family for our business all of our sponsors instructors affiliates and friends being Rufus for getting back to the woods we'll see you on the next video
