morning folks I'm Dave Canterbury with the Pathfinder school what I would like to do today is introduce you to a new product by gun adapters common this product is called the stack pack as you know when Bannister at short lean arms and gun adapters comm has made many many adaptors both in three inch and 8 inch for subcaliber adaptation of your single-shot 12-gauge he makes them in large pistol caliber is up to 45 long colt all the way down to 22 long rifle when he's put together it's called the stack pack and the stack pack allows you to carry a very small container so I'll give you an up close up in a minute that converts your 12-gauge so that it will shoot five calibers with this adapter it will shoot 12-gauge 20 gauge 410 45 long colt and 22 long rifle so let's first take a closer look at stack pack it comes in a small orange case with an o-ring seal on the lid when you pull it out of the case you basically have a stacked set of adapters that nest inside of each other so that you can convert your 12-gauge to a 20 gauge you can slide adapter inside that for 45 long colt or 410 shotgun and one more adapter inside that to make a three-inch 22 long rifle what we're going to do today is we're going to test these at about 20 yards and show you how effective they are at targets obviously a three inch adapter with a rifle round is going to be less accurate than an eight-inch rifle adapter is going to be but for sake of having that versatility being able to put something down on a trapline at close range with a 22 round and being able to carry a shotgun on the trapline to be able to hunt while you're trapping gives you a lot of versatility in the firearm that you are able to carry while on the trap so opening up our adapter kit if we go with the first adapter and put it in the gun we can now load 20-gauge shelves in our 12-gauge shotgun

here's our adapter there's our 12-gauge shell or our 20-gauge show all right so here's our 20 gauge pattern all right so now if we take the gutter 20 gauge adapter in there again these are stacking adaptors so we'll take our second adapter which is our 45 long colt 410 drop it inside that adapter and we can then load and shoot a 410 show here is our 410 powder okay so now we put our third and final adapter in there we have our 12 - 2012 - for 10 for 10 or 45 long colt 222 and I'm going to clock that at the 12 o'clock position because it's a rimfire cartridge to align it with my sights you're not going to get the accuracy out of this you would with an 8 inch rifle adapter or a 22 rifle but that's not the point you're going to get accuracy out to 15 possibly 20 yards within a pie plate that's all you're looking for

not real great but again I'm not going to be this far away using that 22 adapter it's not my idea to go out and hunt with that thing for squirrels at 40 yards so my idea with that 22 adapter to be able to adapt that shotgun to 22 long-rifle if something were to happen in my sidearm so I can still use it to easily dispatch animals on the trapline or something like that you have to understand the scenario the reason you're using your gear and does it make sense to you guys that was just a really quick review of this stack pack adapter set from short lean arms it comes in an orange plastic tube you can get put down your pocket have a socket backpack and it gives you that adaptability when you need it and that's the key to the whole thing is we're not trying to create a new hunting weapon necessarily for the everyday we're trying to be adaptable and I would match some adapter to my sidearm preferably so if I'm carrying a 20 gauge 45 long colt I got it covered I'm carrying a 410 in a 22 I got it covered if I'm carrying a 12-gauge in a 22 or 45 long colt I got it covered either way those adapters are going to make it so that I can operate either firearm and shoot that smaller caliber ammunition if I have to from my long gun because something happens to my side on the other side of the coin with these adapters is that in times when ammo may be short or you may only be able to trade for ham over scrounge for ammo you can shoot multiple calibers from the same gun and I believe that with 12-gauge having a 20 gauge adapter having a 410 adapter and having a 22 adapter that's a pretty optimal combination I would probably choose an 8 inch rifle adapter if I were trying to match adapters for the long term but for the short term this stack pack is definitely the way to go in my opinion
