okay guys I thought what we do today is we've got that small flake which is one of the flakes that we broke off making those stone tools you other day member I told you had a flat spot on the bottom we need to bust off so that's the first thing we're going to take off of this this is a really good piece to make an arrow out of it because it's also it's already I should say very very thin it's got some concavity to both sides already so this is like a five minute arrowhead out of something like this that's why I thought we'd use it today I've got some pretty simple tools and I'm going to use for this I've got a piece of leather I'm going to use for a hand pad I've got a crushed piece of copper here they use you know to shape with that works pretty easy and it's just a flattened piece of copper pipe that's a very simple tool to make this one needs to be flattened off a little bit a rubber channel pad you can make this out of a piece of tire pretty easily the copper Bopper is probably the hardest thing to recreate but you can use a piece of solid copper if you can find it you know this is a piece of solid copper if you can find a piece of solid copper you can afford to buy it that's better than trying to make something but this is just a copper cap that's been filled with lead it's had a screw drop down into the hot lead and then it's been you know let stand and it's good to go it's not - not too difficult to make something like this and then of course we've got a couple antlers Lakers here that are real easy to reproduce now the easy stick is a little bit tougher but it's just a copper nail basically as all it is and you can embed that copper nail into a piece of wood this happens to be a piece of dowel rod but you could use wood for this too and the other thing that does it gives you leverage when you're trying to bust off flakes I don't use it as often sometimes others do but I do use it quite a bit if I'm trying to do something really fast down and dirty and I just want to get it done I will use it you can see right now what I'm trying to do is I want to bust this bottom part off its below centerline to get this piece evened up off the bat and if I put that in my channel there's not much exposure there so I'm not going to be able to do it on that I'm going to have to do it just in my hand probably which makes a little more difficult there's a tick right there on that piece of leather pad crazy thing get out of here

tics are all over the place this year alright so this is going to be tough to get this off of here I might even be better off trying to just bust it off there on my leg and do kind of a little bit of a lap nap on this deal I'll support this piece back in the back back here you just try to grab hold of that snap it down if I can just like that right now I'm just trying to kind of get rid of that fatness not really trying to knock a big deep flake out of there just trying to get rid of all that fat stuff long as I'm supporting that piece on the backside I won't snap it in half I go to push it up here pushing down I'm liable to break it but back here it can still absorb the shock and it's not going to break okay I got most of that off and you can see that didn't flake up in there very far and that's good because I don't want it to looks like there's one little piece right there on the edge I can take off again right there now we've got a pretty flat piece now something like this is very simple because you can pretty much because it's thin enough already to make an arrowhead you're really just shaping this thing and then sharpening it so I would take you know a thing like this and I would just break it down into the shape I want it rock the bat I can do it without breaking too much of it off and again I'm just raking against the edge of that Flint that's all I'm really doing there and getting that thing the shape I wanted to be in I got a big tough spot right here at the top I'm at the bust a couple flakes off of to get exactly the shape I want not that big a deal I can probably do that right here in my lap again again those are below centerline so I'm just pushing in and down this is called lap napping and that bust a couple flakes off of there now I can kind of get this into the shape I wanted maybe again with this device here we go that's nice and straight now if I could get the side to match it I'll be pretty happy like I said this thing is already pretty much an arrowhead it just needed to be shaped and that's the difficult part is to do that without breaking it if you're in a hurry so we're trying to make a five-minute Arrowhead here so we're kind of in a hurry we're not really taking our time on this thing we're just trying to get it done now if I turn this thing over and come out from the other direction because I've raised the center line I should be able to break this other side and in fact we do the exact same thing and you see I'm getting a pretty good point there now and get in the cemetery what I'm looking for and I've done all of this pretty much so far with just this piece of copper because I flakes so thin I really haven't had to mess around too much with breaking flakes off of it I've knocked a few flakes off of it on the tail end and stuff but I really have not too many off right now I'm just trying to get this thing down to where I got a point I'm getting close to that now okay just a little bit Bowl right here okay we get on now now I think really we score the bottom of this thing up pretty good make sure we got a good place to half this thing that's we're gonna have to probably knock a couple flakes out now up to this point I haven't been wearing glasses I'm going to put glasses on now so I can see some fine detail when you're doing stuff like this it's always a good idea to wear safety glasses especially if you're just practicing obviously out in the wild you might not have the ability to put on a pair of safety glasses but you know where we're at now not that big a deal now I want to kind of get the symmetry here the same on both sides so I got to kind of shave this off a little bit as well to get these evened up I still got pretty fat still pretty fat on the bottom so we're going to have to take care of that probably some flake in here in a minute probably not going to get away with just using this raking tool all the way along this thing to change this edge pattern a little bit to match that one now we got some pretty good symmetry right there now we need to get a place to mount this thing here and then just put a fine edge on it and we're in good shape for a quickie Arrowhead no problem all right now

let's get our piece of rubber back and see if we can knock bust a couple flakes off the bottom of this thing to give us a place to mount this another tick on me here get off of there I'm gonna get after this with an easy stick little bit here okay remember I'm trying to stay below center line on this thing I'm going to braid the bottom of this a little bit and you can a braid you know with any piece of stone I'm just using an old piece of carborundum scarer a piece of a sanding wheel doesn't have to be that this just works out good I'm just a braid net up to expose where I want to drop my flakes off up and you can see this area back here that's below center line all right that's where I want to bust the flake off up to get this hump out of here so it mounts on a narrow very evenly when I put it on there okay so that's the piece I got a concentrate on getting off of there now that I've abraded that thing I can get a better grab on that shoulder or I better grab on that platform and I can put that thing between my legs push down in use my legs for leverage to bust that off of there maybe I can't grab it you try to pop it off there two or three times it don't come then you ain't got to get enough platform and it's time start over

we go even out up a little bit right there okay that's not too shabby that's not too shabby scratch that off just like that

you gotta get a little bit of better a little bit better symmetry on this one side being a little pickier I need to be with a five minute arrow head to be honest with you but that's okay that's not going to hurt anything I just need a little bit more of an angle on this side to get the symmetry where I want flatten out this thing here too bad now one more flick I want to knock off right here to get this high hump out of here that's easy enough to do same thing you know I've got I've already got a platform right there I can push that flake off of so all I'm going to do is stick this channeling pad underneath it which just allows me to drive a deeper flake like I said you could make something like this out of a tire very easily pop okay that's what I wanted that took that big hump out all right now we're getting down to the nitty-gritty on this dude we got to start doing a little bit fine work on it so it's a real sharp point here we really don't have any reason have to notch this thing as long as we can half tit up over top like this we don't really have to notch it so what we're really looking to do now is we're really looking to sharpen it now we're just taking real small scharping flakes off this thing - sir ate it just like this we don't really need to go all the way down the piece because we're going to have half things up there okay

that's a pretty thin pretty good point right there no problem me that thing is pretty well straight we can half that thing easy enough we got plenty of room to half that right there we put that on an arrow we're going to be in good shape that didn't take very long five six seven minutes I took a little bit longer than that but you know I took my time on some stuff I really didn't need to because that was a pretty flat piece already that we used to make that Arrowhead out up so a quick flat flake like that will make you know a five-minute Arrowhead with no problem okay so just for sake of purpose if we wanted to notch this thing what I would do is I would come in from the side just like this and start breaking consecutive cones out from the center and just keep pushing inward breaking those cones out reaching in with a firm that sharp tool like that

just like that and I would do the same thing on the other side I would try to figure out about where I was at which is kind of right below that Ridge bust me a flake out and then I would kind of look at the direction I need to go there like I said you start popping cones out on one side flip it over pop it out off the other side just like that and at that point I'd have a couple of notches there where I could actually tie into if I wanted to okay guys there's our point ready to be half to two and arrow didn't take very long to make that thing probably took longer than five minutes but I really didn't have to put as much work into it as I did I just get carried away but a good flake like that that you knock off a piece of heavy Flint shirt you know other natural material like that doesn't take very long to make an arrowhead out of if you get a good flick to start with well I hope you guys enjoyed this short video today on making a quick Arrowhead from one of the flakes that we knocked off that piece of Flint the other day I kind of owed you guys a frontal view of that process I did the glass snapping video and it was kind of hidden from view so I wanted to make sure that you guys kind of saw some of the inner workings of that today on this video I just thought it might be nice to show how to make a quick Arrowhead out of a really nice flake to go knock off that piece of Flint there the other day like I said so I appreciate your support I appreciate you joining me for another video I appreciate everything that you do for me for my family for my school I'll be back to another video as soon as I can we're getting ready to start the diary of the teepee so stay with us you
