morning folks I'm Dave Canterbury with self-reliance outfitter in the Pathfinder school what I wanted to do is I wanted to show you a couple products that we're releasing for the holidays and go over some of the components of these kits with you and also go over the pricing that's usually the first question I get about this stuff is how much does it cost along with how much does it weigh so we'll talk about that as well at the end of this video the first thing I want to talk about is what we call the woodsman's pantry plus and we have a kit on our site right now that will talk about first so that we are all straight on where we're at and the kit that we have on our site now which is called the woodsman's pantry it's basically an wax canvas ripstop sleeve that's made by bush badger claw leather or excuse me and it contains five tens that are made to put food items in and they are a screw type lid a screw top lid and these larger tins are 16 ounces and so you have five of these tins inside this sleeve and that makes the woodsman's pantry so what we decided to do is we decided to make that kit a little bit better or a little bit more versatile by adding some items to it to make it the woodsman's pantry plus and this is more indicative of the kit that I generally carry it actually has a few more tins in it than what I generally carry and you can vary that for yourself as well but what I find is I like these larger tins for things that I'm gonna use a lot of on a daily basis like eggs like biscuit mix like beans like some type of just add water potatoes things that I'm going to eat lots of I like to have those bigger tins and then I've always carried a smaller ten of some kind that or multiple small tins that I could put things like sugar salt coffee and those type things and depending on how much coffee you drink so what we decided to do was this is the woodsman's pantry as it's sold on our website now what we decided to do is we decided to add some proponents to that and the first thing that we decided to add was our new 48 ounce cup and lid and it is almost exactly the same size as a sleeve and it's got big giant heavy gauged bail handles on it so you can hang on to it even with gloves on it has the holes in the cup itself so that you can use a bottle hanger if you choose to to hang this over a fire and it comes with the bottle hanger in the kit you just spread it out just like that stick it in you're good the lid is also sent up to be able to be used with that hanger and it has a strainer and breather hole in the lid as well this bottle and cup the 64 ounce bottle the 40 ounce cup are already available on our website and you can buy this stuff separate the advantage to these kits is you save by buying it in kit form now we've taken eight ounce tins for this woodsman's pantry plus we've added those tins so that you can actually put five of these tins inside as well and what I've got in here is things like coffee creamer seasoning freeze-dried vegetables that get big very quickly so I don't have to have a big container of them for it to go a long ways not a big vegetable fan anyway so I just add a few to get those vitamins and minerals and that all fits inside that cup which goes down inside the sleeve and then you can drop the bottle hanger down beside that and that becomes the woodsman's pantry plus and this is very much the same style of carry that the old woodsman used to use some type of pressure fit or friction fit lid to carry some of their sundries in in their backpacks so that's what this was designed out okay so let's talk about the woodland chef cook kit again it comes in a nice large Bush pot bag made out of that same waxed ripstop canvas material from badger cloth other works

you get two sets of locking stainless steel flatware so it's basically set up to be a two-person cook set you get a bottle hanger that goes with the 26 ounce cup so that you can use that as a smaller Bush pot if you wanted to use that separately from this kit to take it away from camp on a scout truck you've got the large Bush pot lid then we'll take the components out separately from that you've got the 26 ounce cup and lid that works with a bottle hanger you've got the two quart Bush pot and this is the den two Bush pot with the large bail handles on it got a heavier gauge steel that you can use with gloves it also comes with of course the lid but in this kit it also comes with a baking rack so that you can actually put the lid on this as I did in the video not very long ago and baked things in this on the fire like bread or fish a fillet steak something like that is easy enough to cook or smoke inside the pushpot with this rack then you get the lid for that Bush pot you get the large Bush pot which is almost a 4 quart Bush pot again with large bail handles heavy gauge wire and we took the lid out for that in the very beginning the last thing in this chef's kit is our folding skillet and the lid and then again all of that stacks very neatly has a nesting set within this bag [Music]

it cinches down neat and tidy for transport okay so looking at weights here this is the woodland chef cook kit in its entirety and all the containers are empty that weighs four pounds thirteen point seven eight ounces something like that okay so right around close to the five pound mark with all of those stainless steel components and remember that most of the time or the majority of the time lightweight and durable don't go hand-in-hand all of this is stainless steel cookware so that does make a difference in a sacrifice in the weight now this is the woodsman's pantry plus but remember at that four pounds 15 ounces that all five of my 16-ounce 10s are full of food and three of my eight ounce tins are also full everything from beans to biscuit mix the potatoes to rice to coffee and creamer so I've added some weight and food to this kit that gives you a pretty good idea of what this thing's gonna weigh once you put your food in it as well I think that's a good thing to understand all right so probably the last thing that I'll get asked on this videos size remember that the largest component of this woodland chef kit here is going to be the pan itself and it's an 18-inch diameter so your OD of this thing is gonna be right out about eight inches across that's about right when you squeeze it down it's about eight inches the height on this thing again you push it down you're looking at about inches in height so eight inches by nine is on the Patrick Plus you're looking at 15 and a half inches about 16 inches when you count this puff at the top here where you've got your closure out and for tens you're looking at about five inches across the bottom go five by 15 16 about bedroll size on the pantry okay guys well that should answer most of the questions that I'll be asked everything from how the kids fit together what components are in the kits the size and dimensions of the kits the weight of the kits and the price of course of the kits both if you bought the pieces individually as well as buying them and kit form I appreciate your views I appreciate your support thank you for the need for our school for family or for business on our sponsors or structures affiliates and friends and I'll be back to the other video as soon as I can thanks guys
