I don't this is mixed with 1/8 survival school today I'm going to do a review on the Ray Mears wilderness axe made by grandpa's Brooks stay tuned okay so the infamous wood Lorax actually called wilderness act that grandpa's brucks

designed by Ray Mears it's a good axe right off the bat I'll tell you that right now is a real good axe it's a two pound head it's got some weight just ahead is two pounds see how thick the pommel is serious axe and it's 23 and a half inches long so it's about four inches longer than the small four stacks which is a very common tool it's an axe that I carry a lot every day because I don't carry this one every day anymore I used to but it has a special place now in my kit this is the axe that I used every single day when I was slipping on a tarp for seven weeks British Columbia Canada I mean just killing it in the woods I mean this thing is just insane this thing is insane

yeah I lived under the top for a while it was pretty intense fishing everyday sitting trot lines things like that eight official time muscles every day this thing gave me fire every single night I had to do three hours of axe work a day three hours a day I'd use this every single day to have fire so I was in a nasty rain forest during the changing of the seasons so do I have real-world experience with this thing yeah I sure do I sure do this axe saved my life this is it right yeah I mean this thing

did it for me Singh did it for me I had to take down trees that were you know about that big felt down and then there was nothing to limp because they were so huge right so tall has no branches and I cut off I'd bucks six foot sections raw bring it back to camp and then I would take three feet at a time I'd get two days out of that log I have to go back to the tree and get more and I had to split it down to get fire there in that rainforest Vancouver Island I just split it down to pencil-sized crazy all with the sacks I mean every day three hours I use this actually three hours a day it never did me wrong ever I had an Agora stone so I just kept it nice and polished so the patina was good and strong yeah this axe is a good axe unfortunately it's hard axe to get because it's such a good axe it's like on backorder for months and months and months at a time all the time I was lucky to get this when it first came out I've had this axe for a couple years now I mean several years so I don't do flashy reviews this is literally just right from my kit you can see I have to clean up the patina no big deal I use my tools my tools don't look like they just came out of the factory I use them and that's nothing that's that's a joke take that off with an agarose not slurry ten minutes work it's a fantastic tool grandpa's Brooks end up getting a two-tone handle eyes a little dinging it right there which I did after I came back from Canada wasn't that funny I hang it up I'm camp but I'm not using it hanging over my lap you know the sheath on that way I said to grab it just one split get to work so here it is very simple review - pound head 23 and a half inch handle great-grandpa's brach socks

designed by Ray Mears himself and he said and you want to make an axe that was liking it between axe from the small forest axe and the Scandinavian forest axe Scandinavian forest act is much longer than the small forest act which is 19 inches I have laid this side-by-side to a Scandinavian four stalks and this one's two times thicker this is way heavier head he did it on purpose you want to make something out have real bite something that would be real strong that is not going to wear you out that's going to have power when you're cutting through trees when you're splitting when you're just doing your tasks in the woods and you're really doing it it's not just you know playing around the sax is gonna really do for you I'm glad I got one I love the sax one thing I will mention though careful with the sheath my axe split right through one time I almost cut myself so careful with the sheath it's a touch soft for such up heavy duty sharp axe preference Brooks just makes the best acts as you can get and from what I've tried so far I have several of their axis was the best design I've ever seen them use ever seen them produce so mr.
