hey Smits native survival and today we're going to make a blueberry leaf infusion don't go away okay so I'm surrounded by blueberries so I'm going to pick a bunch of these leaves so I can make an infusion fresh i'm also going to dry a bunch of them as well so i can make infusions after the plant dies of course popping here's here's a very stuff mmm-hmm good stuff okay easy enough i'm going to take some of these blueberry leaves put a handful in there save some for another batch let's add some water to it okay i'm going to throw us on the fire and i'll get back to you alright so i'm going to move that right up next my fire and then cover with my second cup so that way ash another debris from the Fire doesn't end up in my drink okay so let's check on the progress alright so as you can see steaming it's bubbling a little bit in the corner move it away they're right there I'll start to see that's what I want leaves a blanched that means they're releasing everything I want into the water so I started getting a nice green hue to it so I'm gonna cover this back up some won't be any debris in it and more importantly it's going to be it's going to keep all the essential oils and the steam with the water so i get this is such a straight never go alright let's see how our blueberry leaf infusion turned out nice light green q I'm liking it

I'm going to pour that in my second cup there it is okay well thanks for joining me today for this blueberry infusion which is very delicious tea now there's a few ways to think of infusions one way is to think of it as basically like making vitamin water so you take the water that you drink every day and you improve it by adding vitamins and minerals to it by extracting them from the leaves another way to think of it is if you want to flavor your water and another way to think of it is as a medicinal tea so basically you would drink it for certain ailments so you would study and understand which plants are good for certain ailments and then you can use them feel you're making a future for that purpose so it's a very interesting thing to do you know you can make wound wash us to where you make an infusion and you put that you know you wash your wound with that to you know say if it's very astringent that's going to constrict your blood vessels so that that'd be good for a wound and there's other things to that they're also good for wounds for certain reasons like yarrow etc okay so well again appreciate your views policy support you guys are natural take

you
