the forest on an autumn day holds many secrets one I'm keen to find hidden amongst these trees is a copse of the traditional drinking vessel of the Sami people hailing from northern Scandinavia [Music]

I've chosen dead standing eastern white pine it's dry ready for immediate use and it has a rich color one carved there is a joy in simple fire lighting from making proper feather sticks to using the boat row each facet imparts its spirit on the past building a fire in the wilderness creates a great sense of place a stable location in an open one bacon stew is one of my favorite meals while carving on a chilly day it provides protein fat and carbohydrates to keep me going one of the principles of bushcraft is using simple resources on hand to complete various tasks while living in the forest dinner is what I look forward to each and every day all aspects are organized or rounded from the amount of firewood collected the type of wood burned to forging the spices it requires [Music]

carving late into the night is real nourishment for the Soul sitting beside a fire and crafting sharp tools isn't only a noble pastime but I believe unnecessary
