as mentioned native survival I'm gonna go over three very similar knots that are sort of in the same family and I'm gonna go to the slight differences that create the three different knots and they have three very very good applications when you're on the woods so let's get to it okay so first thing is all these knots are ambidextrous that means that I can start on the right side of the tree and bring my tagging along the side all of the opposite all my tagging would come from this side it's all the same so first up is two half hitches and this is a good dead stop not so this is not something that's gonna be adjustable it's gonna slide reach its max and it's gonna be solid okay so it's really easy to do basically you have to remember that the intersection point is that a ninety degree so that would look like this ninety degrees okay so it's over under that's it okay so we start with a ninety we go over okay then I go on the inside now I'm gonna go under and this is on the outside my initial over all right tighten it up good to go this is a great rich line dead stop right here all right so let's do it one more time all right this time I'm going to go from the left side to show that it's truly ambidextrous okay remember it's over-under at a ninety degree in the session smooth over and then we have under okay so now I'm going to cross at a 90 again this time under all right

ready to rock and roll okay so this next knot is a taut line hitch all right foul line hitch is an adjustable knot it's very similar to two half hitches he's still gonna cross at a ninety degree angle on your intersection instead of going over when you go under all right so we're gonna go under under over and this will look like this under that's on the inside under again okay now when I go over so I'm crossing it at ninety going over okay now the bonus of this knot is that it increases the tension on a line so this is a great knot for the other side of your ridge line all right I'm gonna show you how that goes right now okay so you can see that my line my line does not have any tension on it it's my taut line hitch okay so now there's a static end that goes through the knot in one piece the ridge line goes through the knot it's just wrapped around by this side all right so this is solid does not move this side slides up and down

the original and that's what increases attention so I'll show you how that goes you just hold the static end nice and tight

okay so this last one is a square knot and this is where it differs it's very similar

it's two hitches just like the others but it differs on its intersection angle all right so basically instead of having a ninety degree angle on your intersection point you want to be parallel all right so you take two tag ends I'm sure dragons make them parallel now my left is going to go over my right what makes almost like an axe okay so I'm going to go around go over it right now my right is gonna go over my left and again create parallel intersection and I'm gonna make an X and go over now when you tighten it you'll want it to look just like this so you can get that right for yes it looks like two loops are interlocking alright that's how you know you have it right tighten both at the same time then just your new ropes okay so this is parallel and not 90-degree on the intersection point all right that's the difference okay so for summary we had two half hitches which is a 90 degree cross and you go over under the taut line hitch is under under over now it's also at a 90 degree and the last one is two square knot and that's parallel all right parallel that's left over right and right over the left that's all there is to it so if you remember these little shortcuts with their quoted uni knots you can very easily remember tons of knots and not make any mistakes now it's been mentioned in survival thanks for joining me today and you'll find out a few practice through those shortcut methods a few times somebody's not to be cruising I'll see you on the next one thank you for your comments and your support appreciate it take care
