all right oh this is a mention with the native survival school say hey we're gonna make some dandelion coffee stay tuned

okay so in front of me I have dandelion rosette actually looks like there's two we have one right here and then right beside it is a second right here these are the flower stalks it's obviously not in bloom at the moment

looks like it was in bloom recently though and it's like a little bloom again very soon so we're gonna dig this plan up we're going to collect the roots as what the leaves look like a day typical dandelion leaf so I've isolated it the surrounding vegetation take my digging stick slowly work it out whether these big fat worms huh I was a fishing bait it's a couple of them in there send them back five your home all right I'm gonna do is scrub the dirt off there's the roots by themselves how about rubbing my knife on them it creates breaks it down it creates like a almost like a mush like a vigorous motion away I'll have a good start it's breaking it down when you do this you're like shaving it when it dries becomes powdery let's spread it out all set

yeah it's very hot just a short little twig fire a couple pieces of oak in there though so it's burning pretty hard it's absolutely dried out now now I'm gonna pull it off and work on it some more

now I'm gonna crush it down try to get it down as close to powder as I can so I just broke it down into a little more of a powder now it's try it out because it was living before so this is how you process it when it was a living plant a living Roop you have to try it out first and back on the fire so it's darkened up dump that right into my cup it smells good and a little bit of water not too much because I want to be strong and flavorful Joseph to heat it up fire the puppy very huh

oh it smells really good it's been cranking along for quite a while now that's a nice color to it just show you right now check that color out nice and dark alright so taste test I you don't drink coffee like sugar I'll try it once like that

a little better kind of earthy tastes a little bit like espresso it is good I think we'll add a little maple sugar that I made in the woods so it's clearly fair game sugar doesn't exist in the woods yeah exists in my woods I made this in the woods maple trees in my woods turn into maple sugar in my woods I add a little sugar to it now straight no milk in this though because I don't have any pregnant deer or anything like that around here that I'm gonna be milking anytime soon that's delicious oh man took that bitter edge off of it that's really good yeah I can totally see that being a coffee substitute dandelion broom that's edible someone's chomped down all the route us and drink that as well it's good stuff yeah

well thank you for your time she's been mich with native survival school see in the next video take care [Music]
